Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Piwik PRO edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Piwik PRO, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. Your references were virtually all associated with the company, blogs or social media, not independent third-party sources.
  • Since the article lacks proper references is basically a bit of history and a sales pitch, there are no facts to show that it even meets the guidelines I've linked above.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. You use sales language whereby products are always "offered" never sold, as if it's a gift to humanity. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: offered... expert consulting... offered... full ownership over data... allowing for data integration from multiple sources— it reads like a sales leaflet, not helped by the fact that it's only sourced to the company
  • Thank you for declaring your conflict of interest. Note that if this article ever leaves draft space, you will need to add {{COI editnotice}}to its talk page

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read this important guidance.

November 2018 edit

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. • This includes using affiliated sites as citations (see WP:CITESPAM). Also, blogs and commercial marketing fluff are not considered reliable sources (see WP:RS). Any further spam additions of such links, and the domain will likely get blacklisted from all usages on Wikipedia. GermanJoe (talk) 13:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Piwik PRO edit

Hi Szymon. I made the decision to redirect Piwik PRO Analytics Suite as part of the new page review process, because it did not currently appear to meet the criteria set out for the inclusion of organisations, companies and products, and as an alternative to deletion. This was before I was aware of the multiple prior deletions of the article, and your disclosed relationship with Clearcode.

You are welcome, and technically able, to reverse the decision, but one of the reasons we recommend editors with actual, perceived or potential conflicts of interest to make use of the various review processes (Wikipedia:Articles for creation, for the creation of new articles, and Wikipedia:Edit requests, for making edits to the relevant pages) is because the perception of editors which such relationships may not match those of the rest of the community. This may be due to an actual conflict of interest affecting one's judgement in a situation, or differing perception due to exposure to different information, below the threshold admitted to explicit analysis.

My assessment was that it is likely that the page will be deleted if restored and subject to a deletion discussion. With the history of creations, it may instead be very likely. If you do truly believe you have sources meeting the four required criteria, you can revert the edit which redirected the page. Alternatively, I would recommend making use of the draft review process, Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Alpha3031 (tc) 14:25, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also, specifically with regards to the idea increasing visibility: As briefly mentioned in WP:LAGGING (i.e. Wikipedia:Notability § Notable topics have attracted attention over a sufficiently significant period of time) Wikipedia is generally only able to host an article on a topic after it has already done the "increasing visibility" part for some time, and is into the "already has been visible". Based on the coverage available now, I do not think that is the case. It may well be possible to create an article in the future, but the future is not now.
