May 2009

edit

Because we're in between seasons, it's been agreed on Talk:List of stadia in Wales by capacity that both Ninian Park and Cardiff City Stadium (original name huh?) will remain until the start of the 09-10 season, then we'll remove Ninian Park. Welshleprechaun (talk) 17:09, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Swansea Grand Theatre

edit

Hi there, I noticed you removed the theatre infobox on this article.[1] I'm restoring it, because relevant infoboxes are part of WikiProject Theatre guidelines, and if you look at most good theatre articles, they include the infobox. I think it improves the quality of the article - we could also think about adding the Swansea Grand official logo into it under the 'fair use' rationale. Thanks. Moving pages

edit

It appears you are having some problems with CSD and page moves. I have attempted to fix the problem. Pages should be properly moved, not cut-and-paste, to preserve edit history. In addition, there is no need for a Liberty Stadium (disambiguation) if Liberty Stadium does not exist. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Best Regards. Plastikspork (talk) 21:40, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

i was going to rename Liberty Stadium, Swansea to just Liberty Stadium. i got the idea off manchester uniteds home ground page, Old Trafford and was going to add on the disambiguation link to the top of the new liberty stadium page. i understand with the not cut and paste new pages as you lose information but i had copied everythin except edit history( did not occur to me) to be sure. if you could be of any assistance to me, could you please help me by making the changes as i have been trying to do. i would be very grateful if you could do so. Swanseajack4life (talk) 21:52, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Okay, this seems like a reasonable request. I will sort it out for you. Plastikspork (talk) 21:55, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Joe Allen

edit

Just so you know, by writing "* Joe Allen, disambiguation page." on the Joseph Allen page, you've not actually started a disambiguation page. And I know full well the reader is not looking for Joseph Allen when they type Joe Allen, but it's a damn sight better when they're able to access a disambig page that includes the Joe Allens rather than just delete it. Liberty Stadium, Swansea

edit

Hi, I thought that you might like to know that there's is a standard approach to determining whether an article is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC under its title. I think that there are arguments either way on this one.--Pondle (talk) 22:02, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

thanks i was wondering how this system sort of works. Swanseajack4life (talk) 16:53, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ospreys (rugby team)

edit

I have reverted your move of Ospreys (rugby team), because it is not representative of the name of the organization. Although it appears Ospreys Rugby LLC is the formal name of the club, I don't see any other use of Ospreys Rugby outside of the official website's domain name and title. Accordingly, Ospreys appears to be the most common name of the club, and it's the only name (other than Neath-Swansea Ospreys) used throughout the text of the article.

Conversely, if the move were to go through, the lead sentence of the article should be conformed to agree with the title: "Ospreys Rugby (Welsh: … ), formerly the Neath-Swansea Ospreys (Welsh: Gweilch Tawe-Nedd), are a professional rugby union team from Wales…" If you do think that move and restatement should go through, feel free to open discussion on the talk page; also feel free to propose the issue via WP:Requested moves. —C.Fred (talk) 18:16, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Liberty Stadium page move

edit

Hi, just a spot of friendly advice. I've supported your attempt to restore this page as the primary topic, but you can't have failed to notice that the way you went about it raised a few hackles! It's always worth posting a polite note on the talk page, setting out your rationale, before doing anything as radical as moving or renaming an article. For example, you can use the movenotice template. Regards, Pondle (talk) 21:40, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Well i should have explained why i deleted those files 1st as most people didn't support me because of the way i went about making changes. Im still learning how to go about things on this site as i often use this from time to time but i understand this alot better than before. Thanks for supporting me anyway and for the advice aswell. Cheers Swanseajack4life (talk) 23:49, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

"Fixing" redirects

edit

Hello. Just to let you know there's actually no need to go round changing Swansea City to Swansea City, unless the Swansea City page is going to be changed anytime soon to stop pointing at the football club page. A lot of editors prefer to use redirects like that because they're less messy in the edit window. Have a look at WP:Redirect#Do not "fix" links to redirects that are not broken. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:23, 18 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
