Calgary International Airport

Hello Synnya343. Thank you for your rewrite of the article Calgary International Airport, which is a great article. I've made a few comments over at Wikipedia:Peer review/Calgary International Airport/archive1. What are your thoughts on them? Regards, --Sp33dyphil (talk) 00:19, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sp33dyphil, I've been a bit busy offline lately but I did read and process your comments way back when you wrote them! I should be able to address most of them this weekend. Thanks for checking in! — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 10:40, 26 August 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sunnya343, I see your revert on the Calgary Airport Page. I understand your edit and am ok with it - however I am just clarifying on whether we use the date format that is in the source, or follow the rest of the North American airport pages and go MMMDDYYYY. Thanks! Garretka (talk) 23:14, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello Garretka, MOS:DATETIES states that for Canadian articles either date format can be used, based on MOS:DATEVAR. When I started making lots of edits to the article a few months ago, I was writing all the dates in my references in DDMMYYYY. I believe the article was previously using MMDDYYYY, but I didn't notice. Eventually there were so many DDMMYYYY dates in the article, more than the MMDDYYYY ones, that I decided to make the entire article DDMMYYYY. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 12:30, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Sunnya343 thanks for clarifying - much appreciated. While I'm here I'll also say I do much prefer the simplified table you've built on the Calgary page. Cheers, Garretka (talk) 18:27, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello

I no longer find the decision made on whether to put or remove terminal info ==> There is a edition war within Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. Thank you for the link to this decision ! Bouzinac (talk) 06:50, 20 August 2017 (UTC)

Mass revertions

Hello. I in no way meant to insult you. Most of the deletions you did were my work. So i took that as an insult. I believe everything that was deleted was valuable info. The whole reason for this page is to inform people about MSP Airport. I do my very best to keep these tables and other info up to date. All of the tables i put on this page was from other Wiki airport sites. I just put them all on this page. I know you can find this stuff on other websites but isn't the whole idea to have info on one page? I agree some tables are very close in info but at the same time they are very different. I also think all of the images on this site are fun and informative. Please leave my work up. I worked hard on them and think it all has valuable information. Again, I didn't mean to insult you. Maxbaby01 (talk) 00:22, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

  • Thanks for coming to the talk page Maxbaby01. I understand now why you did not like the reversions. However we need to remember that Wikipedia is: an encyclopedia. A lot of the information that I see belongs on the airport's website, for example the detailing of each shuttle service and the directions provided to light rail stations. Wikivoyage might be more appropriate for such information. I suggest you take a look at some of these Wikipedia policies (I've also listed the sections of the "MSP Airport" article that relate):
    • WP:NOTRAVEL - "Airport lounges," "Ground transportation"
    • WP:NOTSTATS - "Statistics," "Miscellaneous"
    • WP:NOTGALLERY - the number of images
    • WP:OWNERSHIP - When I was working on Kempegowda International Airport to make it a Good Article, I sometimes would research and add a few paragraphs of information only for another editor to revert most of it. I felt strongly about keeping the information, but once I started talking to the other editor I softened my stance, and we came to a compromise. My point is that we all might feel that our contributions are significant, but we can't ignore the opinions of other editors and the policies of this project.
    • WP:EDSUM - I recommend you include them! That way if you feel the need to revert someone, they know the reason and are less likely to revert back. Also be mindful of WP:3RR.
    • As aviation enthusiasts we might feel that certain information is important, while other editors see it as excessive or too much detail. An example I noticed in the MSP article is "Delta Air Lines has hangars arranged along I-494 and 34th Avenue, so it's possible to see airliners undergoing maintenance while driving past." Again Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and we are catering not just to people like ourselves.
I hope this information is useful and helps you understand why I placed the warnings at the top of the article. Please tell if you have additional concerns/questions. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 22:40, 22 September 2017 (UTC)
We need to have a further discussion about the content of MSP. I keep making some restructuring edits and Maxbaby01 keeps reverting them. What exactly is the problem with the article? NBA2030 (talk) 04:09, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
@Maxbaby01: Were you able to read my comments above? It is getting to the point where every edit someone makes has to be verified by you! I have tried to give you the policy information without making a report, but I can't help it if you choose not to read this information and get reported by other editors. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 16:01, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
These are mass edits that are being done all of a sudden. I have come to terms with all of the pictures that were deleted that I added over time but now the text and information on the airports site is being attacked. This info is very interesting to the article. Why can't this info just be left alone. It has been on this site for a very long time without issues. Please leave it alone. If you take notice I am the one with the most edits on this page which means I have great passion for it. I keep it up to date with the numbers and info the best I can. And no Sunny, I don't revert everybody's edits on this page. only the ones that are unnecessary. I love seeing the edits as they improve the page but not when people are just deleting stuff for the sake of deleting. I have taken a lot of hours to make this page as informative as it can be. Once again. Please stop deleting items.Maxbaby01 (talk) 16:30, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
@Maxbaby01: Personally I am not deleting information just for the sake of it – I have outlined my reasoning per Wikipedia policy above. As this project is an encyclopedia, we cannot include every detail about a subject. I understand that you have a lot of interest in this article (as do I in other airport articles) and have contributed to it significantly, but that does not give you the right to determine which edits are "interesting" or "unnecessary." I highly recommend you read over the policies I have listed above. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 17:41, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

AI BLR to SFO

I just stumbled upon the AI time table and it mentions a single aircraft from BLR to SFO. I've added SFO in the destination list in BLR article.  LeoFrank  Talk 14:12, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi LeoFrank, apologies for the late response. I had noticed that a while back, too, but it appears to be a mistake. If you search for "AI 0173" and "AI 0174" in the timetable, you can see that the BLR to DEL flight is operated by A320. This also correlates with the FlightRadar24 data here. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 12:58, 30 October 2017 (UTC)

Air Deccan /SimplyFly Deccan

Hi. Please give your opinion on the proposed renaming of the page Talk:Simplifly_Deccan. Thanks Trinidade (talk) 05:37, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

I'm of the opinion that since the new airline is a separate company, the old page (which you created) should stay dedicated to the historical Air Deccan and new additions should either go to a new page entirely or a section on the page of the parent company Deccan Charters, but I'm not sure what would be acceptable.Trinidade (talk) 05:43, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

Busiest routes

Could you weigh in on this? I honestly don't think it is relevant to include busiest routes from an airport even if there are substantial sources to back them up. I do remember back in 2010-11 where it was decided not to keep these stats as they constantly keep changing overtime and require frequent edits.  LeoFrank  Talk 06:11, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

It might be notable to list a couple of the busiest destinations in prose format with some contextual information as appropriate. However it’s important to remember WP:NOTSTATSBOOK and avoid the excessive listing of statistics as seen in some airport articles. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 04:35, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Calgary Intl Airport deletion

Good day. On October 14,2017,at 15:12, I added to the page:YYC has a total land area of 21.36 square kilometers (8.25 square miles). You deleted this on 1/8/2018 claiming it is a random addition. I have a source to back it up.Go to the Calgary Intl Airport (YYC) website,,click media, then Facts and Figures,in land area says it is 21.36 square kilometers=8.25 square miles. When I made that addition,it took 6 hours before it was accepted as valid. If you accept this, just source it for me,I don't know how to do that. Thanks and have a good day.2601:581:8500:949C:304C:CD3D:3958:6A95 (talk) 12:37, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I have re-added the information in a way that I think flows with the rest of the intro better. If you wish to continue contributing at Wikipedia, it's important you know how to reference material. You can find tutorials all over Wikipedia, but perhaps the easiest way is to use Template:Cite web. Scroll down to "Usage" and copy/paste the template from the "Most commonly used parameters..." box. Type in your reference info, then sandwich the whole template like so: <ref>My reference</ref>. The reference usually goes at the end of the sentence you added. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 21:21, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello, again. I made the edit again to match the data exactly on the Fact Page Land Area. What is there now is precisely correct. But I appreciate your help.Have a good weekend.2601:581:8500:949C:304C:CD3D:3958:6A95 (talk) 21:59, 13 January 2018 (UTC)

Hubs/Bases/FCs

LCCs basically have bases and not hubs. I noticed here that you masked the airport names with their city served. Hubs/bases/FCs are basically airports and not the city by itself. An airline may serve all airports of a city which has multiple airports, but only one or two of them will be their hub/base. When it comes to a destination, it is actually different. An airline's focus will be to serve the city rather than an airport, hence we mask the airport name with the city name in the destinations table.  LeoFrank  Talk 16:57, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

AI BLR-LHR

Hi Sunnya343, AI used to operate on the route BLR-BOM-LHR-JFK on a single 747-400 starting from BLR all the way to JFK. So the BLR-LHR stands as a resumption irrespective of the fact that the earlier service was with a single stop.  LeoFrank  Talk 16:12, 15 October 2018 (UTC)

Translation

Here's the translation:

"Between the end of 1998 and 2000, Swissair operated the only long-distance route from Basle: to New York/Newark. But the daily connection, intended for the Basle pharmaceutical industry was basically just a reaction to a project by a future competitor that envisaged a full business class Boeing introduced on this route. The route was only half-heartedly marketed however. On the Swissair marketing flyer for passengers from the USA, the connection to Basle was not even mentioned."

BTW which article were you intending to use this information in? Bermicourt (talk) 09:45, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
