Peer Review From Mai

On the part titled “event monitoring,” the author focused on a constricted perspective of adverse effects that the monitoring of electronic medical records seeks to predict and prevent. In this case, it would be better to provide information regarding other perspectives that highlight the importance of event monitoring to include parameters related to blood pressure reading and vaccinations. On the other part of this article, a focus on the wiki regarding “electronic medical record” will draw attention to few details that the content failed to highlight. First, the author fails to differentiate – in a clear manner – an electronic medical record and an electronic health record. This distinction is necessary because it determines where the EMR is used and where it is not used. Moreover, the benefits accrued by using EMRs should be provided. In this case, a discussion on the benefits of EMRs should have included a discussion on benefits such as that an electronic medical record helps in data tracking over time; tracking the patients that are due for screenings and preventive visits; and in monitoring the patient’s health status from different parameters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaiSawangduan (talkcontribs) 15:32, 19 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
