Speedy deletion nomination of IFEEL

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on IFEEL, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 06:12, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at IFEEL

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from IFEEL, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this:   which appears inside of the speedy deletion notice, which will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 06:52, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copied from Talk:IFEEL

This page should not be speedy deleted because... --Chiru 06:25, 4 May 2011 (UTC) I believe that this article is not for promotional reasons but it is so that the people know about iFEEL. Wikipedia contains article of various Management institutes in India and iFEEL is just one of them. Since iFEEL is relatively new, it is difficult for people to know about the institute. Wikipedia article will help the users to know about the institute and take their decisions whether to be a part of the institute or not.

There is no words for promotions of the institute used in the article. It is fairly informative and helps the wiki users to gain that information

  • The article is full of promotional, first-person language. "We provide the students with the best on-campus accommodations..." is just one of many, many examples.
  • If it's "just one of them" and "relatively new" then it's probably not notable enough for an article. If reliable sources have written about it, that's another matter, but without any third-party references in the article, it's hard to tell
  • The article, or parts of, seem to have been copied from various places at http://www.ifeel.edu.in/. That makes it a copyright violation, which another grounds for immediate deletion. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 06:33, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yes, most of the things are from http://www.ifeel.edu.in/ but it is because I am one of the management student at the institute and the institute has allowed me to use the same. Regarding the first person language, yes it was a mistake and it has been removed now. I would request to reconsider the option. This article is going to help the students to know more about the institute. If that being the case, then we should consider other such management institute's articles to be deleted too... Without proof that you have permission, we still can't accept it. The owner of the website would need to go through the process at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials first. However, I'd advise them not to bother, as the article needs to be re-written from scratch in order to be non-promotional. Everything on Wikipedia needs to written from a netural point of view, and calling things "the best", and using marketing-speak like "vision and mission", won't work. Why don't you start a new version, in your own words, after reading all the policies I've linked to, at User:Sonichirag87/iFEEL. This is called a user-space draft, and will give you opportunity to work on your article with less risk of deletion. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 07:28, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
