July 2012 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Tom Rice, you may be blocked from editing. DRAGON 280 (TALK/CONTRIBS) 04:26, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Warnings edit

One user has given you a level-three warning, but I'll assume good faith and start from two then.

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Tom Rice, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Tom Rice. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

This is your last warning. The next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

While your edits, if constructive, are appreciated; there are perhaps better ways to carry these edits out. --Qwerty Binary (talk) 21:11, 8 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Your committing vandalism, Triple H has yet to announce anything that relates to him retiring.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 04:23, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your sources are not reliable, so it's vandalism.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 04:28, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Lords of Pain and WrestleNewz are strictly dirt sheet sites that other sites that are reliable(i.e. PWInsider, PWTorch, Wrestling Observer) already posted and make up lies.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 04:33, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
WWE.com is reliable, but please refrain from posting false stories about Triple H retiring.--Mikeymike2001 (talk) 04:36, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re: Armstrong edit

Re your comments on my talk page. No, im fully aware of that, i have followed this case for many many years, and unlike many i have read every word of every page of all the court documents, and also written some fairly scathing things of my own. If you are interested look me up on twitter (not hard to find) or a couple of my recent articles on cyclismas, i am one of his most vicious critics. However, this is wikipedia, not a blog, a forum or anything else, and it needs to accurately reflect the facts. The facts at the moment are that the UCI are doing what they can to stop USADA enforcing lance's ban and as such his race wins have not been voided by his governing body (which will be another story in itself) and so for the purposes of wikipedia its important we stick just to facts. By the same token, i also argue vociferously against lines being inlcuded like "his sponsors stand by him" giving teh assumption of innocence when it is well documented that he has financial interests in most of those sponsors. If people go gaga on his wikipedia page now relentlessly trying to put in things that are not yet accepted by governing bodies, then it also leaves it open for equally innacurate claims from the other side of the argument. Proposed merger of T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS edit

Hello Sk8terguy27, It seems to me that an article you worked on, Proposed merger of T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS, may be copied from http://hotcellularphone.com/tmobile/tmobile-usa-metropcs-combine-creating-leader-wireless-marketplace/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 19:27, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Carolina Southern 943.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Carolina Southern 943.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 14:13, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your use of language on User talk:Mikeymike2001 is not appropriate, so I removed it. Mikey is a volunteer trying to make Wikipedia a reliable encyclopedia. October 2012 edit

Hello, I'm Gtwfan52. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Gtwfan52 (talk) 05:28, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your RFA edit

I apologise, but I have closed your request for promotion early, as the application was certain to fail the basic requirements expected of applicants (NOTNOW), given the scarcity of experience, particularly in areas related to administration. If you remain interested in becoming an administrator, I would definitely recommend that you familiarise yourself with the guidelines on RFA applications (GRFA) before attempting the procedure again. Good luck! Mephistophelian (contact) 21:46, 22 December 2012 (UTC).Reply

Please explain edit

This contribution of yours today contains cut and pasted copyrighted information from this site, namely "Brown joined the Pelicans in March of 2010 and under his leadership he helped transition the team’s Major League Baseball affiliation from the Atlanta Braves which they the club has been affiliated with since the club was started to the Texas Rangers following the 2010 season. The team hosted headline events like the NCAA Regional/Super Regionals in 2010 on behalf of Coastal Carolina University, the 2010 Carolina/California League All-Star Game and the first-ever exhibition game involving a big league team in Myrtle Beach when the reigning American League Champion Rangers took on the CCU Chanticleers on March 29, 2011." Apart from one word-change you have used the reference verbatim. Please fix, and read WP:COPYVIO Moriori (talk) 00:02, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please listen edit

You accused me of vandalism in your summary of this edit. Don't do that again.

Earlier I had edited the Tom Rice article to improve it from a bloggy, pov, poorly written mishmash to a reasonably encyclopedic article (an ongoing task). I took it from this abomination to this.

I have reverted you and suggest you don't revert me again. Instead, if you believe I am wrong you can report me elsewhere or ask for comment elsewhere. Moriori (talk) 08:09, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Copyright issues report edit

Hi, I've mentioned the copyright problems here. Any help you can give in removing material that you know you've copy-pasted, and then noting that it's been removed, would be appreciated. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:52, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I doubt anyone would want you to quit (I know I don't!), but it is very important that you respect copyrights. IMHO, nothing is a bigger threat to the continued success of Wikipedia than copyvios. The potential for the foundation to get sued is far bigger than it is for libel by far. I have been screamed at, told off and generally put in my place dozens of time since I have been here and fully expect that I will again, many times. It would be really nice if everyone here was kind and respectful, but, just like society in general, that just isn't the case. My suggestion to you is to ask questions, get help when you need it, make friends and continue to work on articles you like. The best thing I did after I got here was to get adopted. There is no textbook for this, and adoption provides you with a teacher that will walk you through the ropes, and be around after you graduate to mentor you. Another great thing here is the Teahouse. It is a place especially for newer users to ask questions and get answers without attitude. My dad always used to say that the only stupid question was the one you didn't ask, and the Teahouse definitively follows that credo. I will leave you an invite after this message. I will also be happy to help you in any way I can. Just drop a note on my talk page. Welcome to Wikipedia, and happy editing! Gtwfan52 (talk) 03:17, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Sk8terguy27. I have removed your recent addition to the article David Bennett (American football), because it is practically a word-for-word copy of the material in the source, http://www.myhorrynews.com/sports/high_school/football/article_67140b02-4b8e-11e2-8f22-001a4bcf6878.html, which is copyright. Please stop and take the time to find out how to paraphrase sources so that Wikipedia (and yourself!) does not break the copyright laws. This is super important as it is an official Wikipedia policy with legal implications. Here: Wikipedia:Copyrights -- Dianna (talk) 03:38, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia: check out the Teahouse! edit

Final warning edit

It is apparent that most of your articlespace work violates copyright or plagiarism. This exposes the WMF to legal liability and is intellectually dishonest. Please do not do this again, or you will be indefinitely blocked. If you have questions or need help understanding copyright or plagiarism, please ask and people will be happy to help you, but please do not continue in the path that you are taking. --Rschen7754 04:18, 29 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Coastal Grand Mall Logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Coastal Grand Mall Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:10, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
