Drafts and sandboxes
Hi ShohagS, I'm trying to understand your edits earlier today – first, you reverted the copyedits and other maintenance done to Virti Vaghani, then you reverted yourself, then you moved the article from mainspace back to your own user sandbox with an edit summary that is difficult to understand. Since then you've moved the sandbox another time, blanked it, and pasted the contents of the old version of the article (before the maintenance was carried out) into another sandbox... and meanwhile you have been editing a sandbox in a different user's space, User:NerdyShohag/sandbox, which is presumably your own abandoned account, adding essentially the same pre-maintenance content there. Could you explain the reason for these edits and moves?
While you are (more or less) free to develop content in your own user space, there are a couple of issues here that you should be aware of, to avoid future frustration:
- You should not create sandboxes in several different user spaces, not even if one of them is an account that you are no longer using.
- Article drafts should be in the Draft: space, not in a sandbox.
- The edits you reverted were quite necessary, and the version currently in your sandbox(es) would not be acceptable as a Wikipedia article, for several reasons. Wikipedia's policies against promotional edits are pretty strict, and the policies about biographies are very strict. The copyedited version without policy violating content and links is here.
If you are editing Wikipedia on behalf of Vaghani, you must read and comply with the conflict of interest guideline, and if (as seems very probable) you have been hired to create an article about her, this policy is mandatory. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 17:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Bonadea. Thanks for your message. I have been feeling hostile in wiki since this account has been created. You are right. User:NerdyShohag is my first account. Being unable to access that, I am here. I assume that you are not being much friendly. While you took just a little part in editing my sandbox. If you wished we could have start talking then. I am new in wiki. If anything I am doing wrong, leave a message. I would love to discuss. I believe that you are a very active user. And yeah, I need your help. If you have just a bit time, shall we start discussing about that article? A. Shohag 06:44, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- I can only see one edit I have made to your sandbox – here – and that was simply a matter of making sure the sandbox wasn't listed in article categories. Apologies for not posting a note to your user talk page about that. I'm sorry you have been "feeling hostile" (I guess you mean you feel that other people have been hostile towards you?). However, the questions above were asked in all courtesy and with friendly intention, and the same is true about the bulletpointed advice, since it would have been a bit rude to simply nominate your sandboxes for deletion! Could you at least explain what made you move the article to your sandbox space?
- First of all, though, you need to address the question of what your connection is to the actor you are writing about. That's required by policy. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 10:17, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- Take no offence, dude. About moving back the article, I believe that it's pretty simple. First, I didn't like your editing. Second, I was wondering why [[1]] one is not violating despite mine. ( I mean I have been trying to reach the policy just by keeping change and consulting with an administrator.) I shouldn't have move my sandbox this early while I needed to work more.
- About that girl, I know her a bit ( maybe you can use the word friend). Joining wiki, I thought that why don't I start with her as she is not on wiki. Here is one thing about that article, why do you think that the section 'Acting Career' needs to be this much cleaned. I am asking you to elaborate it specifically. About her birthdate, I know it personally. For the first bulletpoint, I mean why can't I? I was just trying to keep a backup. I didn't knew about the second one. What changes that could make while it is in my sandbox or in the draft page?
- And in last, are you going to help me finish my first article with all due humble? A. Shohag 12:09, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- "I didn't like your editing" is not a reason, but if you simply wanted to work on the draft, that's fair enough. I have moved it for you to the Draft: namespace, and restored the maintenance edits I carried out. It is at Draft:Virti Vaghani. You will find the very specific reasons in the edit summaries here. Please do not add any information that you only know personally, as it violates the verifiability policy. Finally, do not make personal comments about other editors. Thank you. --bonadea contributions talk 12:21, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Bonadea, but I am not getting you. And sorry for my wrongdoing. I truly don't understand you why you had to remove all the other sources except only 5?
- OK – I'll try to explain. This version has 18 sources. Some of them are not reliable sources and should not be used at all. Some of them do not mention Virti Vaghani, and those are not relevant in the article about her. Some of them mention her name (for instance in a list of actors) but with no other information, and it would not be helpful to the readers to include many such sources – though keeping one of them can still be useful, to verify that she was in a film for instance. (This page is pretty informative about why it is not a good idea to include every single possible source.) And some of them are duplicate versions of other sources in the article.
- Source 1 is not a reliable source (bookmyshow.com). (In addition, it does not in fact support the information in the draft – it mentions a few brands she made commercials for, but not all the brands listed in the draft.)
- Source 2 does not mention Vaghani.
- Source 3 does not mention Vaghani.
- Source 4 is still in the draft. It is a very trivial mention of Vaghani, but it does support the information that she played child Radha in Jai Shri Krishna.
- Source 5 is includes exactly the same minimum of information about Vaghani as source 4, which means that it is not necessary. (That the film has been dubbed into different languages is not relevant info for this draft.)
- Source 6 is a duplicate of source 1.
- Source 7 does not mention Vaghani.
- Source 8 is still in the draft.
- Source 9 does not mention Vaghani, and is used to support information in the draft which is not actually relevant to an article about Virti Vaghani.
- Source 10 is a duplicate of source 9, probably added by mistake.
- Source 11 is just an automatically generated information page, so not a reliable source (Times of India is in general a reliable source, but that does not mean that every single page on that website can be used as a source in Wikipedia.)
- Source 12 is still in the draft, and it is the only source that actually does more than mention her in passing. The sentence that was copied almost straight from the source has been removed, partly because of copyright concerns but mainly because it is not relevant for an encyclopedia.
- Source 13 is still in the draft. There is just a minimal mention of Vaghani's name, but it supports the information that she was in the series.
- Source 14 is a duplicate of source 13, probably added by mistake.
- Source 15 could actually be restored – I will do that when I have finished this post. It could replace source 13.
- Source 16 is still in the draft.
- Source 17 is another very minimal mention of Vaghani's name, which does not add any information that is not in sources 13, 15, and 16.
- Source 18 only lists Vaghani's name among the actors, and does not add any information that is not in sources 13, 15, and 16.
- Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 17:29, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

- Now, this looks like a talking to newbie. Thanks, Bonadea. I will try not to make these mistakes further more. Right now, I am going to leave the draft for some time as long as some reliable sources don't devote significant coverage to her, and then I will submit the draft for review. A. Disambiguation link notification for June 29
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Gangachara Upazila, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengali (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:17, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- What the bot is trying to tell you is that the link to Bengali leads to a list of topics called "Bengali", including a village in the Nicobar Islands and a member of the ThunderCats. We could link directly to the right article with a piped link: [[Bengali language|Bengali]]. However, in this case there's a handy template {{lang-bn}}, so I've edited the article to use that. We don't need to worry about linking to the corresponding page on bnwiki: the left sidebar has a list of articles on the subject in non-English wikis. Thank you for your edits and please don't let this message discourage you – it's far better to have content that needs a minor technical tidy than to leave the section incorrect or blank! Certes (talk) 12:02, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
Well, I am sorry for that one I forgot that It wasn't redirecting it to the language page. Apologies for that. Maybe, You should take a look at the fixed one here handling with the {{lang-bn}} in your way linking the Bengali language page. A. Shohag 12:21, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Either of those versions is ok, but we usually use the lang-bn template with simple text in these cases to avoid creating a cross-wiki link that duplicates the one in the sidebar. It also adds the page to Category:Articles containing Bengali-language text (useful for maintenance) and keeps the articles consistent, so we can improve the style wherever it appears by just changing the template in one edit. Certes (talk) 12:56, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
Well, it's very embarrassing that I just had the idea now. Hope you understand. Certes A. Shohag 13:03, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Please do not feel embarrassed. Templates like lang-bn are hard to find, and I'd made far more than 157 edits before I started using them. It can be useful to view the source of a similar article. For example, if you click through to Rangpur District and pretend to edit it, you'll see {{lang-bn}} used there. Certes (talk) 13:10, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
Well, I have seen more pages like that. Eventually I edited two or more. And bye the way, Gangachara Upazila is my home and Rangpur is my own district. Feels good to have you an example like that. Other way, I am going to make these changes to more similar pages as I believe. Thanks Certes. A. Shohag 14:11, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Please don't delete that. I've uploaded the file.ISL fan (talk) 11:58, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks, ISL fan. I am not an administrator, I just requested it for deletion. And one more thing the file you uploaded doesn't have any information about Who is the author or what the source is. Please update these information or else It's already been nominated for deletion. Thanks. A. Shohag 12:08, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Dear A. Shohag Please cross varify . I have added required citation and thanks for posting about the same User:Playlikeastar(User talk:Playlikeastar)
- Thanks, User:Playlikeastar. Please, don't add same reference more than once. And you are just referring some movie pages. Add something from some news, article, maybe any book reference could be good. If you read this, please follow likely. A. Shohag 07:54, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
Explanation
Please explain how either of these tags apply? Praxidicae (talk) 15:00, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry about that one. I am actually finding an tag with no reference. I was in a hurry and just did it. Hope you understand. Thnaks A. Shohag 15:03, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- No, I do not understand at all. There is no "no reference" deletion tag. Please explain how you went through the four step process of clicking twinkle -> clicking "select multiple reasons" -> selecting g14 which is at the bottom of the list and selection a3, at the top of the list -> confirming. Praxidicae (talk) 15:05, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- I apologize for that one. But I could think much because the name was too weird. Maybe I should have gone for different language's article. But If I did mistake, there's people to review and you did that. A. Shohag 15:13, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Your response makes no sense. Praxidicae (talk) 15:14, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- ShohagS, Please stop misusing the CSD tags, I suggest you read WP:CSD before tagging another article for CSD. Recents notices by Praxidicae imply that this is not the first time Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 18:12, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Synoman Barris: Thanks, But that article was not complete, I just did it what felt good to me. And I am going to read WP:CSD. A. Shohag 18:15, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- ShohagS, I agree that the article was not complete but it didn’t meet A1, it just needed more work so I moved it to draft space, Regards Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 18:19, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Synoman Barris: Alright, and will you suggest me anything else? A. Shohag 18:21, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- ShohagS, What do you mean? Megan Barris (Lets talk📧) 18:40, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Synoman Barris: What I ment is if you have anything to suggest me or warn me about something not to do based on my activity. If you don't understand much, then ignore. A. Shohag 18:52, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Short descriptions
They are 'footballers', not 'football players', OK? GiantSnowman 10:12, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: But the 'football players' describes perfectly an Athletes as long as I understand than 'footballers'. A. Shohag 10:17, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- No, the correct term is 'footballer' - hence why the corresponding category is Category:Scottish footballers, Category:French footballers etc. GiantSnowman 10:24, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- @GiantSnowman: Alright, But the categories are not descriptions, are they? Please explain what difference it could make if I use 'football players' rather than 'footballers'. A. Shohag 10:29, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
- No, they are. GiantSnowman 11:16, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Fatehpur Inscription moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Fatehpur Inscription, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Worldbruce (talk) 14:51, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Worldbruce:You might want to check that it's a translation. And most importantly the sources I provided is actually independent from govt webpage. If you undo your moving I will try to find some more sources that might satisfy reliability. And don't expect me or anyone to expand the article because there's truly not much information on the web. Thanks. A. Shohag 15:00, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- So what if it's a translation? Just because an article exists on bn.wikipedia.org doesn't mean it should exist there, see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. And each language version of Wikipedia operates according to it's own policies and guidelines, set by the editors who contribute there, so even if an article should exist on the Bengali-language version of Wikipedia doesn't mean it should exist on the English-language version, and vice versa.
- Web page http://www.archaeology.gov.bd/site/page/33b15f5f-82e4-426a-8028-c39f221a468d/- is reliable, but it only lists the name with the upazila that it's in. That's a very very long way from being significant coverage. If you can't access much information about a topic, you won't be able to create an encyclopedia article about it. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:21, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Worldbruce:Dude, hold on a sec, the name is also can be found in Banglapedia here. It just mentioned the name in a different article. And you will find more here which will clarify all your doubts. As mentioned before I can only add one or two line more to the article but not much. And I somehow understand the policies. A.
