Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

List of Atlus games

Hello Sillent DX. I just saw the Hungarian page you created. It looks very good, congratulations. :) Maybe we can do the same thing to the English page? --Hydao (talk) 20:54, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Looks nice. What do you mean "Lead section"? Introduction? Or...?

I will help you for sure, though I'm sure my English is not better than yours. Be careful adding the developers, sometimes GameFAQs or MobyGames (and even Wikipedia) info are not reliable. That's why I'm here, correcting all the mistakes. Cheers. --Hydao (talk) 18:56, 10 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'm checking the list. You've done almost everything, I'm not going to edit the page for now, I'll let you do the rest (or the "little" that remains). I thought about doing the list as you did, but I lacked motivation. Keep up the good work! --Hydao (talk) 01:42, 11 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

List of PSVita games

edit

Thanks for your usual contributions to the page. In case you were interested, there is an easy way to update the figure in the lead paragraph ("there are currently X total games on this list"). There is no need to count the lines one by one, or any other tedious method. If you copypaste the entire raw code table into either Notepad++ or Microsoft Word, and then do a CTRL+F find for "|-", this will essentially tell you how many table rows there are (which is the number of games, plus one - the heading row). Remember to subtract 1 from the number that comes up - for example, if Notepad++ says that it found 372 instances of "|-", that means that the number of games is 371. Happy editing! --benlisquareTCE 08:40, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Danganronpa

edit

I noticed that on the PS Vita games list you've removed the separate entry for Danganronpa 1&2 Reloaded, and instead added footnotes to the separate entries explaining the situation in Japan. However, the game really isn't "bundled together" like Final Fantasy X|X-2 Remaster was (in Japan and Asia, X|X-2 shipped with two separate cartridges in the one package, and in the west X-2 was a separate download code; you can also buy both games separately), but was a single game where you could select whether you wanted to play 1 or 2 from the main menu. The western licensee chose to release the game in two seperate parts based on their own decision, and they essentially released in separate halves what was supposed to be one unified game release.

I have Japan PSN and a digital copy of 1&2 reloaded; you cannot buy the games separately, unlike the case with Final Fantasy X and X-2. It's kind of like the case with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, where one cartridge contained two games, that were both accessed from the same bubble on the LiveArea screen, via a main menu that appears after the game runs. --benlisquareTCE 08:11, 5 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Capitalization help...

Could you please help me with capitalizing the term Unreleased and moving TBA --> dtba? I have done all I can so far to the List of PlayStation Vita games and the M-Z pages. Thank you very much! Zacharyalejandro (talk) 18:13, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Zacharyalejandro: Sure, no problem. Will do it in a sec. (you used the search & replace tool on the A-L page, right?) Sillent DX (talk) 18:23, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Sillent DX: What do you mean? I just replace it with dtba and just capitalize Unreleased. Zacharyalejandro (talk) 18:35, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
It's just you asked me to do it like it's some real hassle, so I assumed you manually replaced every TBA to dtba and not with the wiki search & replace tool. Anyway I'm gonna fix the dead links on both pages tonight. Sillent DX (talk) 18:57, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. By what you mean by 'search and replace' does that replace all TBA with dtba without having to do it manually? In other words, it does the job for you, not having to search for them and saves you a lot of time. Is that it? Zacharyalejandro (talk) 19:08, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Zacharyalejandro: Yes. If you use the "source editor" and not the "visual editor" then on the enhanced editing toolbar click on the Advanced icon and the you will see the search and replace icon on the far right side. Sillent DX (talk) 19:22, 28 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I saw this edit. Can you share this edit or tell me more about these other games Sales? It's not that I doubt you, it's just that I've been able to find very little in the way of lifetime software sales for Vita. Let me know. Thanks! Sergecross73 msg me 14:19, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Sergecross73: That particular data came from Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2016, page 169. There's also more sales data about other (million selling) Vita games (LBP) on page 87 (and even in the 2015 edition (Uncharted)). BUT after I submitted my edit I noticed that they use VGchartz for the sales (as stated on page 168), so we can't use them as a source. Sillent DX (talk) 17:27, 18 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

George Plimpton/Billy Martin altercation story

edit

Hi there. I see you've added a juicy-looking story about George Plimpton and Billy Martin having a fight over which of their respective games was better. This is a great detail but reading the source, well, it reads a bit like a hoax story. This list of the times Billy Martin got fired by Steinbrenner doesn't include it. The altercation supposedly took place hours after Martin got hired for the third time but this New York Times story from that day doesn't mention it at all. I'm leaving it up because everyone concerned is dead (and thus can't be defamed) and because it certainly sounds like something that might have happened, but a second source for that story would be great.
