WP:AFL edit

Hi mate, was wondering if you'd be interested in joining WikiProject AFL. Also take a look at Portal:Australian rules football and Category:Carlton Blues players. Cheers, Rogerthat Talk 13:41, 10 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Home and Away jumpers edit

Mate, I have a few concerns about you putting on the jumpers. Firstly, the logos on the jumpers are possibly copyright and don't fall under the fair usage thingy in the form that they are in.

Secondly, the pictures are obviously from Mero's footy jumpers website and I hope you have got permission from him to use them.

Finally, if it is all well and good to use them, then do two things. One - make the logos look better. None of this dodgy-cut white stuff around the AFL logos etc. (I would suggest putting them on without any logos personally - if you must have an AFL logo, use the one from the AFL wikipedia page. Its perfect if you resize it.). Two - make them smaller... maybe side by side... as they currently clutter up the page in my view. See Hawthorn. Seth Cohen 07:26, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

good work on the jumpers edit

good work putting the jumpers on the team pages. i fixed up the club monogram on the carlton page and i was hoping you'd put the logos on Meros proper 2006 carlton jumper because when i did it the colour stuffed up. also, you need to do freo's white away jumper.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

GYC image edit

Hi Sge, I notice that you have marked Image:Glenorchy-camp.jpg as {{PD-self}}, meaning you created it, but in the edit comment when it was uploaded you say "unknown, came from the website www.gyc.tas.edu.au." Which one is correct? -- Chuq 07:38, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

My jumpers edit

Hi sge. My user name is rmered, my regular nickname is Mero. Happy for you to use my representation of footy jumpers on this site. However, I'd also be happy to help make them look a little nicer. I'm very new to Wikipedia, and don't know exactly how to make the changes that need to be made.

If you could contact me, through www.footyjumpers.com (there's a contact page on the site with my email address) I an either send you the revised graphics I have done, or you can tell me how I can overwrite old files, for example carlton-2006.gif is wrong, Carlton started wearing Dan Murphy's on the front of the Home, and Yes Optus on the back from 2006. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v477/rmered/Carlton-2006.gif is how I would do them from now on. Regards Mero/rmered

Latest AFL club jumper upload edit

Great work on getting Mero's new more realistic style up and running. Just a few things I thought I'd let you know about, as I'm assuming you have the images so I thought you could just make any necessary changes and re-upload them.

ADELAIDE: Clash jumper doesn't have blue arm holes. The construction of the adidas jumpers infact means that there is literally just holes in the jumper for the arms to come out of, unlike most other jumpers which tend to have different coloured stitching. Best thing to do is just make it all red and remove any outline separating it from the main part of the jumper.

BRISBANE: Vodafone wording also underneath front logo. Also completely new clash strip but maybe you don't have that yet.

CARLTON: White clash strip. Also collar has drastically changed (See [1]). I'll let Mero know about that though.

COLLINGWOOD: Inverted clash strip - also has reversed sponsor logos.

ESSENDON: Ridiculously up themselves fat sash clash strip. Also incorrect font for the "mobile" part.

FREMANTLE: Perhaps add purple haze?

GEELONG: Clash strip.

HAWTHORN: Front has "TASMANIA" in a blue box with white outline as front logo instead of HSBC. Clash strip (dunno if its been revealed yet).

KANGAROOS: New font for Primus logo. also new away/clash strip - blue with white V and new logo at the point (minus the wording).

MELBOURNE: Primus logo. Also new font for asics logo.

PORT ADELAIDE: Pretty sure the home jumper has Scott's logo on the front. Either way, they are reversed for home and away.

RICHMOND: Home jumper still says hummel - now RBK.

ST. KILDA: Skins replaced Piping Hot as manufacturer. Vodafone logo on back of home jumper. New clash strip - dunno if logos are reversed or not.

SYDNEY: Clash strip (dunno if its been revealed yet).

WEST COAST: Away strip - the one worn in GF with Hungry Jacks logo. Also new clash strip but don't think its been revealed.

W/BULLDOGS: Arm holes are now back to blue again, but the collar is still red and white. Also white outline around LeasePlan logo.

Some of these things may seem a little trivial to you, but its the sort of thing I'm passionate about - making things perfect to the finest detail. For an encycolpedia, I think it should be done perfect. Hope its not too much trouble. Cheers, Seth Cohen 07:26, 10 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

New Bulldogs away jumper edit

I'm unsure if i should upload an image of the Bulldog's new clash jumper they wore in Rd 4. I was just wondering if you had an image of it on Wikipedia already. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't already on wikipedia.
Also, where can i find the images of the Club jumpers (you've uploaded) outside of Wikipedia? I'm have trouble finding the images on the web.
Also, the current W.B'dogs jumper you've got uploaded is incorrect, the 2007 jumper has no cuffs instead of the red cuff of 2006.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brisbane-a.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Brisbane-a.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Footy jumpers edit

G'day mate, I uploaded the Brisbane Lions home jumper, one because the vodafone logo was incorrect, and two because the lion looked tacky. I have all images of THIS YEAR"s jumpers on my PC, because I created them. If you want me to upload them, I will certainly. Only things is the realistic jumper look I cannot do. What you need to look at is putting the new Primus telecom logo on Melbourne, and replaceing HSBC with TASMANIA on the Hawthorn one. That's not all, but theres a start.

Thanks

File permission problem with File:Glenorchy-camp.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Glenorchy-camp.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
