Cruiserweight Championship

I notice that you've been going around to various articles and changing the listing of the WCW Cruiserweight Championship to the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship. Personally, I can't recall when that it's ever been called that. It's been policy for a long time to name the championships by what they're actually called even if what they're called and listed as by the company that owns them is slightly different from what is actually written on the championship belt itself. A few months back, a similar discussion was held on the ECW Championship's discussion page. The WWE calls the title the ECW Championship both on it's various programs and on it's website despite the fact that the belt itself reads ECW World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. It's a minor thing to be sure, it's amazing how the tiniest things can bloom into a full scale edit war. Thanks. Odin's Beard (talk) 15:08, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, apologies for the delay in replying.

The reason I have been changing the listings to 'World Cruiserweight Championship' is simply because that is the name of the Title. Whenever I have seen it being defended it was always referrred to as the 'World' Cruiserweight Title, also the Title is emblazoned with the words 'WCW World Cruiserweight'. I understand your point completely about how the Titles are named on TV but had I been involved in the previous discussions regarding the ECW World Heavyweight Title, I would be completely for referring to it as a 'World' Title, as, regardless of what WWE call it, the Title itself has the words 'World Heavyweight'. I follow the policy that a Title which has been defended on 4 of the 7 continents has every right to be a 'World' title. Sentinel618 (talk) 22:38, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
