Your submission at Articles for creation: Hex (cryptocurrency) (December 7)

edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by S0091 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Sources are either not reliable or not about the cryptocurrency. Nothing suggests this can even meet the verifiability policy much less notability.

Richard Heart moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Richard Heart. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it is promotional and reads like an advertisement and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. signed, Rosguill talk 17:59, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please be aware that there was an RfC at Talk:Nick_McKenzie/Archive_1#RfC:_Lawsuit_between_Peter_Schiff_and_Australian_media which discussed whether the lawsuit between Nine Entertainment and Peter Schiff should be covered in the Nick McKenzie article. Consensus was determined to be that the material should not be covered at all. TarnishedPathtalk 02:13, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Where exactly was Consensus determined? I reviewed and I don't see any concensus. There's a discussion, but no consensus. Sentaso (talk) 15:31, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Sentaso read the part in the top left that starts with "There is consensus to remove the disputed content". TarnishedPathtalk 15:38, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I read it, the consensus was to keep the content, as acknowledged by "the numerical majority against removing the content"
How is a minority deemed consensus? Sentaso (talk) 15:45, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please read Wikipedia:Consensus#Determining consensus. If you believe the close did not adequately reflect consensus you may discuss it with the closer at their talk page. If after any discussion you still feel that your concerns aren't addressed you may request a review of the close at the Administrators' noticeboard. TarnishedPathtalk 16:04, 31 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
as per your source: "Consensus among a limited group of editors, at one place and time, cannot override community consensus on a wider scale."
This is what has happened, you're sending me to a WP guide that confirms consensus was not reached. Sentaso (talk) 09:54, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
If that's what you believe then I've already told you above what you can do to challenge the close. Until such time as the close is overturned that is consensus. TarnishedPathtalk 10:03, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I understand the word consensus, its odd you're using a WP guideline that goes against your claim as a reference point. Sentaso (talk) 10:35, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not going to try and debate with you about WP policy given that you've demonstrated you aren't interested in anything other than misinterpreting it in a manner that you feel makes you right. I've advised you what the RfC close determined consensus is and what you can do if you wish to dispute the RfC close. If you edit the article to insert the material again, without having had the close overturned, you will be reverted and then find yourself the subject of a noticeboard discussion. TarnishedPathtalk 10:49, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
You were dishonest with your initial reply stating "Consensus was determined to be that the material should not be covered at all" when the consensus was the opposite.
Tarnished is an apt username Sentaso (talk) 12:31, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
[REDACTED] mainly edits talk pages and stirs up trouble at the various admin notice boards. He's the very definition of a tendentious editor 31.219.133.189 (talk) 12:06, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Arbitration Enforcement noticeboard discussion

edit

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a report involving you at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement regarding a possible violation of an Arbitration Committee decision. The thread is Sentaso. Thank you. TarnishedPathtalk 14:36, 1 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Sentaso: You have been asked to no longer edit User talk:TarnishedPath. If you post there again in the next three months I will block you. There are certain permitted exceptions but to keep this simple, make sure you do not edit that talk page again before September. Johnuniq (talk) 05:35, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban

edit

The following topic ban now applies to you:

You are indefinitely topic banned from BLPs, broadly construed.

You have been sanctioned as a result of this AE report.

This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Editing of Biographies of Living Persons#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please read WP:TBAN to understand what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period to enforce the ban.

If you wish to appeal the ban, please read the appeals process. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:57, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

This topic ban applies everywhere on Wikipedia, including talk page and project space discussions. Additionally, you are also warned that further incivility will likely result in further sanctions. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:59, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
