Suggestions edit

Looks like you are keen to edit Wikipedia. Welcome. Here are some suggestions for new editors:

  • start with small edits to get a measure of how your approach is received.
  • if you contemplate major additions, mention your plans on the Talk page of the article to get feedback and then allow a day or three for other editors to respond. If you have a major overhaul in mind, communicate to the project talk pages, such as Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry.
  • remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a technical journal. We are not looking to accumulate all references or all sorts of details. The aim is to present an overview. Hence the emphasis is on general references (WP:SECONDARY), and the standards are especially high for anything biomedical (WP:MEDRS).

Inferior edits will be removed, so be cautious. If you have plans for major edits, it is helpful announce such plan on the talk pages, explaining goals. --Smokefoot (talk) 13:39, 26 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for April 21 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

We have added out intentions to the Chemistry Talk page.

Some advice on editing edit

I noticed you describing who discovered what in the history section. This should not be done; see this section in the manual of style for chemistry. You should also read the entire manual of style for chemistry to make sure you are writing the article well.

For citations use citation style 1 templates as the article needs to conform to one style. The cite journal and cite book templates should be useful. If there is an ISBN for a book it should be given. GalobtterTalk to me! 04:11, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Please be more careful edit

Wikipedia welcomes editors but the standards are high in chemistry. If you anticipate adding a lot of material, describe your intentions on the relevant talk pages, such as talk:macrocyclic ligand, talk:macrocycle, or talk:satraplatin. Wikipedia focuses on general information, not details, not editor's opinions, and not advice. We avoid medical information unless the sources meet the standards of WP:MEDRS. --Smokefoot (talk) 12:03, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open! edit

Hello, Schlenk. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
