Samco

Sarah,

We are trying to update our company page to reflect our beliefs. We really do not need this to be promotional, and all of this is factual, so I do not understand why you would object to changing the wording to this:

In 1979, SAMCO Inc. was established by it's President and CEO, Osamu Tsuji, in a private garage in the Fushimi ward of Kyoto city as a venture company called "Semiconductor and Materials Company" with a vision of making a breakthrough in semiconductor, a nd materials research process equipment. From it's humble beginnings supplying its first Plasma CVD system for Amorphous Silicon solar cells, Samco Inc. has grown into a $50m company supplying over 3200 process system to 23 countries for the fabrication of electronic components as well as other micro and nanoscale devices. On May 30, 2001, SAMCO Inc. made its IPO on the JASDAQ stock exchange. On July 24, 2013, SAMCO Inc.’s public listing was accepted into the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange (Japan’s largest stock exchange by volume). Samco's product line can be divided into three main categories: 1. Plasma etching systems (RIE, ICP, DRIE) 2. Plasma deposition systems (PECVD and LS-CVD®) 3. Surface treatment systems (plasma cleaners, UV-Ozone cleaners) SAMCO's revenue comes from the fields of optoelectronics (HB LED and laser applications), electronic components (GaN and SiC power device and SAW device applications), MEMS, and fundamental Material Science Research.

Please explain what your reasoning is? Hikaru Samco (talk) 20:13, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi Hikaru Samco. The material you added had a promotional tone which is why I reverted it. I suggest you read about Neutral point of view and the guidelines on Spam. You should also not be editing an article about a subject you have a close connection to as you have a conflict of interest. Wikipedia is not a platform for companies to post their own beliefs, factual or not. You're best chances for getting lasting changes made to the article are to post suggestions on the article talk page and making an edit request. Sarah-Jane (talk) 20:31, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Samco

Sarah,

Thanks for your message. I also got something from someone on Wikipedia information team <info-en@wikimedia.org>

I just made the request through https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:SAMCO#Samco_update

One thing I was not sure with on your message is if I have to have all the request inside the {request edit} or did I do the request correctly?

Hikaru Samco (talk) 21:07, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

@Hikaru Samco:. You've done it correctly, the request doesn't need to be inside the template. Sarah-Jane (talk) 21:12, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

What makes a post inappropriate?

@Themasudur: Your page was deleted multiple times because there is no indication of significance and it was overly promotional in tone. Pages like that are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Do not create it again. Sarah-Jane (talk) 11:43, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

HeyWire

Hello...

I'm just now discovering the entry for HeyWire was deleted. Did anyone even attempt to notify me outside of Wikipedia to help shape this in a preferred format? I see that no one offered any real help, just a summary judgement. And just what are the rules for company entries? I tried to maintain a non-marketing, sales-y voice. Does this mean every company entry by the reasons in the delete notice will now be deleted? Were I to have hidden my affiliation with HeyWire, would that have made the entry less of a target? I ask these questions in all seriousness and with respect. This action seems capricious and against your very ethos.

Your insight is greatly appreciated.

Kemipa (talk) 20:01, 14 December 2015 (UTC)

@Kemipa: The article was deleted after consensus was reached to do so in the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/HeyWire. It was not my decision to do so, I just determined what was the consensus was and closed the discussion. You were notified of the deletion nomination on your talk page User talk:Kemipa#Nomination of HeyWire for deletion; no one here is under any obligation to contact you outside of Wikipedia, nor would they necessarily know how to. Wikipedia is not a place for people to advertise their companies and if your company is not notable (see WP:general notability guidelines and Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)), or is written in an overly promotional tone (see WP:spam) then it it will be deleted. This article was not the most promotional I have seen here but it still seems like its only purpose was to advertise the company. There are dozens of spammy article about companies deleted from Wikipedia every day and a lot of editors are likely to be cynical about the motives of someone who says they are the director of marketing for the company they are writing about, but hiding the conflict of interest wouldn't have saved the article, just delayed the inevitable. The bottom line is that your company is not notable enough for a Wikipedia article at the moment, and if it does become notable in the future you should probably not be the one to write it. Don't Delete Truth

as a Bachelor of Health Science Student i currently know what a naturopathy student is studying...i am in the process of trying to find out how to link the uni's subject list over so don't go promoting lies about a wonderful modality — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.23.43.212 (talk) 09:26, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

so basically telling the truth about natural health on wikipedia is not allowed? wow who would of thought... i cant be bothered trying to add to it when you admins are deleting true facts about subjects a true Naturopathy student undertakes in their bachelor degree so i am not the one being biased here 110.23.43.212 (talk) 09:54, 18 December 2015 (UTC)

Reply On Old Tongue Article

Atharva Shah (talk) 9:39, 27 December 2015 (UTC) I am Extremely sorry, but I really don't want wrong references to be kept on wrong pages, there was no need to redirect Old Tongue to some foolish book!!!HighnessAtharva (talk) 04:10, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

@HighnessAtharva:, From the edit history of that page it looks like the original content was about a fictional language called Old Tongue which is featured in The Wheel of Time books. This is why it was redirected there. If you think the name relates to a different, notable, topic then you can write about it in place of the redirect. If you think it should be redirected somewhere else or deleted then you can nominate it at WP:redirects for discussion, as I mentioned before. Sarah-Jane (talk) 14:58, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

Association's webpage

Sarah,

We have tried to update https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangladesh_Association_of_Librarians,_Information_Scientists_and_Documentalists This page is about the association, and the current information is wrong. We updated the information according the association website, which are authentic information. We have provided factual information that has to have the same as the association's website depict. Of course, the provided information is part of the association's website, and when the link to the website has been provided, it is in accordance with the Wikipedia guidelines.

Jakaria Rahman (talk) 00:15, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

@Jakaria Rahman:. No, it is not in accordance with Wikipedia. You cannot directly copy information from the website as it is a copyright violation. It is also overly promotional in tone. If you are editing on behalf of the website then you should also read about conflict of interest. If you think the information is incorrect then I suggest you bring it up on the article talk page and request that someone else make the edit. Sarah-Jane (talk) 00:25, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of JGEC University

Please, how could you.. ..:'( please, I do beg you..please just the JGEC page.. it was NOT a duplicate article..rather the college's article was redirected to that of the university.. .. U can check that of yourself.. Please I just want the page back!! Do you hear me?!! .. .. .. .. . & what about the CCN Digital page?!! please delete the page as well .. . As it's also been created by the same user just blocked!! Please do that!!, please do it.. .can you..try moving in!! I beg hereby ..could you, seriously?!!

It was a direct copy of the college article improperly created by a cut and past move. The redirect at Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College was reverted and the information is now there. If you think it should be moved from Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College to JGEC University then you will have to propose that the page is moved on the article talk page and gain consensus. CCN Digital has been nominated for deletion and a decision will be made, based on consensus, after 7 days. Sarah-Jane (talk) 15:36, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Dr. Kabir Sadeghi

Given the long history on this, would you consider salting Dr. Kabir Sadeghi and Kabir Sadeghi. Thanks. Tiggerjay (talk) 15:14, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

@Tiggerjay:, The deletion log for Dr. Kabir Sadeghi looks long but it was speedy deleted in 2009, then userfied and the redirect deleted, then moved to Kabir Sadeghi where they have now been deleted after the AFD. So I don't see enough evidence of repeated recreation to justify salting, unless there is something else I'm unaware of. I have them on my watch list and if they are recreated again I will salt them. Sarah-Jane (talk) 15:32, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the consideration. Without the history logs of those articles its hard for be to look back on the history, but as I recall from about a month ago there was a lot of SPA/COI editors, including at least 2 usernames [1] [2] that implied they were the Dr. Sadeghi. It appears there has been significant, long term efforts to use wikipedia to promote significance which is otherwise unsupported in reliable, third party sources. My concern is that this article will be recreated again in the mainspace instead of going through the proper draft process. At least two IP have been blocked related to edits to this article. And while it has been quiet for a while Dr. kabir sadehi is written promotionally and has been edited significantly by various IPs supporting the likelyhood of block evasion is easy for this SPA/COI. More recent history on the now deleted article shows there is still significant interest in asserting otherwise unestablished notability. Tiggerjay (talk) 16:37, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Thanks

I appreciate the help/advice. With time and patience I will be able to make valuable contributions.

Thanks for your time,

Why am I getting like 7 messages?

All about the same 2 articles? Over and over. From Multiple users. What are you people like moderators or something?

Eatl33t1111 (talk) 00:48, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

@Eatl33t1111:. If you are referring to messages on your talk page, you only have 3 at the moment (One message and a welcome template left by my, and a message left by ChemNerd). User talk pages are places were other editors can communicate with you and people will leave messages there. As you have only edited two pages, and created one that has since been deleted, then all the messages are likely to be about those articles. If you don't want the messages to remain on your talk page you can remove them. Sarahj2107 (talk) 09:35, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

CUZ: Gaming team

HI

I See you deleted the CUZ: Gaming Team page I created.

Please assist me, this is the first time I have tried creating a page. Not sure how to do it properly

Thanks

Matthew

@Listerm: Hi Matthew, your page was deleted because it didn't provide a Credible claim of significance. A non-professional gaming group consisting of a group of friends/relatives playing games on Steam is not likely to ever meet the notability standards for its own Wikipedia page. To prove notability you would need to provide multiple references showing significant coverage in independant reliable sources. Sarahj2107 (talk) 11:27, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi Sarah

My Recent post has been deleted may I know the reasons. And if the reason is I violate your rules can you give me more information how post should I make. I really wanted to share Nathan Amaral life.

Thanks, Joanna

Hi Jmrosapo, your article was deleted because it was written in a way that it seemed to be "exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to become encyclopedic" (see the relevant criteria for speedy deletion). I would suggest that you read the guidelines on spam, promotion and neutral point of view before creating any more articles. You would also need to provide independent, reliable sources to verify information in the article (particularly if it is about a living person) and to help prove notability. You might want to use the article for creation process where you should get some help and feedback before the article is published. Sarahj2107 (talk) 12:12, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Kenneth Sales

HI Sarah,

I created the article about myself to be completed at a later date. Please approve the following content :Kenneth Sales was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on the 11the of December, 1981, to Ronald Sales and Laurie-jo Sales (née Grant). He has two siblings, Beverly Roldo (née Sales), and Conor Sales. During his life stuff has happened to him and he has done stuff.

Overall, he gets a 5 star rating.

Thanks,

Ken

Kenneth Sales January 12, 2016

Hi Kenneth, The article you created was deleted because it didn't provide a credible claim of significance. Wikipedia is not a social media site or a web hosting service where everyone can post about themselves (see here for the relevant guidelines on autobiographies). In order for your article to survive a deletion discussion if it were to be recreated, you would need to prove there is significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable sources to prove notability. Deletion Wikipedia Page: Intelegain Technologies

Hello Sarah,

Can you please let me know some pointers on how to make the content better suited for wikipedia. I recently submitted content for Intelegain Technologies and was deleted by you. Your help in this matter is much appreciated. I would like to rewrite the page with fresh content will be resubmitting it.

Awaiting your reply.

Rohitkale09 (talk) 13:42, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

@Rohitkale09: Your article was written in an overly promotional way. I suggest you read WP:SPAM and WP:Neutral point of view which will give you more information. I also suggest that if you recreate the article you do so through WP:articles for creation so it can be reviewed by another editor. This would reduce the chance of it being deleted again. You would also need to make sure there is significant coverage in independant, reliable sources to prove notability. Sarahj2107 (talk) 13:55, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

My Talk page redirects!

Please return them, so I can make the Right redirects73.47.37.131 (talk) 01:33, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

Redirects should not be placed on the talk page unless the article is also a redirect. The talk pages you created didn't have any article pages attached to them, which is why they were deleted. Your redirects were also inappropriate. For example Talk:Entire world of the book being rebooted and altered with hundreds of characters cut is not an appropriate redirect to Retcon. Creating redirects like this is see as disruptive and if you continue you will be blocked. Sarahj2107 (talk) 09:37, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

What Can I do next?

Then Please tell me what can I do??

You need to read WP:SPAM and WP:Notability. You can create an article via WP:Articles for creation but it needs to comply with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. If it is promotional in nature it will still be deleted. If you cannot provide multiple independent, reliable sources that discuss the subject in detail then it will not be approved. I have had a quick look and I can't see any, so I don't think the company is notable at this time. You should probably just leave it for now and try again in the future if sources become available. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jordan Schweitzer

Why not move to draftspace, given we'll more than like have to undelete the article when the seasons starts in a few weeks. Nfitz (talk) 04:56, 9 February 2016 (UTC)

@Nfitz: Consensus was to delete, not move it to draft. If you think I made the wrong decision on closing you are welcome to take it to Wikipedia:Deletion review. I am happy to recreate and move it to your userspace if you want. Sarahj2107 (talk) 08:03, 9 February 2016 (UTC)
I don't want it in my userspace. But if you move it there, I'll move it to drafts. Consensus - no one else objected to the suggestion to move it to Drafts. Surely if someone suggests it be moved to Drafts and no one objects to that, then consensus it that it should be moved to drafts. Nfitz (talk) 00:39, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
One person did question the need to move it to draft instead of delete. All the other !votes were for it to be deleted and gave valid, policy based reasons to do so. As far as I see it, their lack of any mention of moving to draft doesn't mean that consensus is to ignore their views and close based on your argument alone. I stand by my close and will not be restoring this article until notability can be proved. Like I said before, you are free to take it to deletion review. Sarahj2107 (talk) 08:21, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
Since when did notability have to be proved for an article to be in draft? WP:DRAFTS notes that "drafts are not subject to article deletion criteria like "no context" or no indication of notability". Please move the article to drafts. Nfitz (talk) 19:54, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Everyone here is a volunteer and I am under no obligation to do anything I don't want to. Nothing is stopping you from asking another admin to do though. Sarahj2107 (talk) 19:58, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
I'd think that would fall under WP:ADMINSHOP, leaving Wikipedia:Deletion review as the only proper course of action. Maybe if the kids go to bed at a decent time ... Nfitz (talk) 00:53, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Draft: Data8 Ltd

Hi Sarah,

Some help please, I appreciate that the submission Draft: Data8 Ltd is too advertorial, is it possible to un-delete the submission so I can carry out revisions. Rather than starting from scratch

John Turtle Emmyl123 (talk) 16:51, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Emmy1123, I'm sorry but it's too promotional for me to be happy un-deleting it. There isn't much I would consider salvagable in it, I think if you want to create an article and not have be deleted again you will have to start from scratch. You might want to read the guidelines on promotional content and make sure you provide independent, reliable sources to prove notability. Sarahj2107 (talk) 17:10, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Kepner-Tregoe Article Deletion

talk:Sarahj2107

Hello SarahJ2107 ! I understand that the Kepner-Tregoe article had many challenges historically associated with it and that it was deleted on March 3rd after being nominated by a user. I understand that the current iteration of the page was not that helpful, nor did it follow the Wiki best practices.

That is why I consulted with editors and admins in the Wikipedia IRC boards on the appropriate next steps in January before I engaged the Wiki editors in February. The Wikipedia community recommended that I actively collaborate with neutral editors to update the Kepner-Tregoe article.

  • I disclosed my potential conflict of interest on the Talk:Kepner-Tregoe page and my bio
  • Due to conflict of interest, I request input on the Talk page from the neutral editors on Feb 1st and again on February 11th.
  • Rather than edit the page directly, I researched and offered content with a clear delineation of the company history and more relevant/neutral sources to establish factual basis and notability.
  • After seeing that the page was nominated for deletion, I shared a series of references to the Talk page for consideration and asked for further input from the community to be considered in the deletion discussion.

My request has been that the article for Kepner-Tregoe be made available in a format that the community can have time to review and discuss in the Talk page. This article could then have the chance to have issues that pre-date my involvement fixed to follow the objective protocols, establishing notability and historical relevancy—as the notability references cited show Kepner-Tregoe is a global consulting firm that has been in existence since the 1950s and has offices all over the world similarly to it's competitor Accenture.

While I understand the old Kepner-Tregoe article was problematic and was therefore deleted—is it possible to archive rather than delete the article and talk page for the community to substantially change/improve?

Or would you recommend that I create a completely new article for this company in the Sandbox for admin review/input?

I greatly appreciate your time and insight with this request.

Thank you!

--Piercing Blue (talk) 21:58, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Piercing Blue. I deleted the article based on the consensus that was reached at the deletion discussion, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Kepner-Tregoe, as so I cannot recreate it in the same form. The main concern raised in the deletion discussion was that there was not enough significant coverage in Independent reliable sources to prove that the subject met the notability criteria (WP:General notability and corporation notability).
I would recommend that you read through the guideline pages I linked above and if you think you can meet them then create a new draft in your user space and submit it for review. You should be aware that people in deletion discussion will search for any available references prior to !voting and if they didn't find anything suitable then there may not be enough to prove notability at this time.
If you need any help, just let me know. Sarahj2107 (talk) 22:17, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi The VirtualQ, The Virtual queue article is about the general concept of virtual queuing, not your company. The addition of 3 separate links to your website is against the external links guidlines and looks like you are spamming. Please also be aware that your username is in violation of the username policy because it is promotional in nature and implies you are editing on behalf of the company. You will need to request a change in username which you can do at Wikipedia:Changing username, if you don't the account will likely be blocked. Hi there. I noticed you're a member of the biography wikiproject. Could you please weigh in at this RfC regarding the anthropologist/linguist Georgiy Starostin and whether his hobby as a music blogger should be included in the article?
