Re: Films edit

All films should be categorized by country, as is clearly said on each category of films by country. That includes anime films. If you disagree, you should discuss it at the Wikipedia:WikiProject Film.--Cattus talk 17:14, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I've seen the categories. What is your point? That it's a subcat of Japanese films? It doesn't matter, look at Category:Japanese films, it says right on top: "For convenience, all Japanese films are included in this category. This includes all Japanese films that can also be found in the subcategories." It's like this for all such categories, for example Category:French films, or Category:Italian films.--Cattus talk 19:11, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It means all anime films are already invluded. --Niemti (talk) 19:28, 2 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I understand. I agree with you, I think these categories should be container categories with no articles on films directly categorized, and I've thought about proposing to change this rule at the Film project, but they probably wouldn't change it and I'd be wasting my time. While it isn't changed - if it ever will - it should be followed.--Cattus talk 09:42, 3 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorting for categories. edit

You reverted some default names I added to various pages. "Default sort" is to maintain alphabetization on category and sub-category pages. For example, Patty Hewes is an article contained in Category:Fictional characters from New York City and Category:Fictional lawyers. These categories are "last name, first name" categories, and "Patty Hewes" is not supposed to be listed under "P", regardless of what choice has been made on the article itself (By the way, using the first name throughout is more usually discouraged, per WP:LASTNAME, although there can be exceptions if they make sense, or if there's consensus to have a less encyclopedic tone.) __ E L A Q U E A T E 15:35, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

As an example of how it was done before my edit, please consider Harry Potter (character) which is alphabetized under "P" in categories such as Category:Harry Potter characters and Category:Fictional wizards when the article or category is specifically about the individual character, even when the character article uses "Harry" throughout. __ E L A Q U E A T E 17:15, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's categorized so only because someone did so. He's not known as "Potter". John Rambo is Rambo, but Rocky Balboa is Rocky. --Niemti (talk) 19:30, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

No, Rocky Balboa is listed under "B" in Category:Fictional boxers and the other categories this character is listed under because we categorize by surname. This is to help keep categories tidy and alphabetized, it has nothing to do with the article itself. __ E L A Q U E A T E 20:37, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

They're NOT PERSONS. --Niemti (talk) 20:41, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

And how about you talk about it more rather than mass reverting my changes? Adding default sorts in order to keep categories properly alphabetized shouldn't be seen as controversial. We commonly categorize by surname. Regarding my original example, do you have any argument why Patty Hewes must be categorized by her first name, when all of the other fictional lawyers in Category:Fictional lawyers are sorted by surname?__ E L A Q U E A T E 20:50, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

How about you actually read this WP:NAMESORT of yours? Which is about "people". Not any fictional content. (The words "fiction" or "character" aren't anywhere there, all examples are real people, 64x "people", 24x "person".) Geez. --Niemti (talk) 20:56, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Look, all of the "fictional character" categories are contained in Category:Fictional characters which is a sub-cat of Category:People. An example showing that we deal with fictional characters this way is also found in WP:CMOS#LSORT. It's also clear from general practice that categories like Category:Fictional lawyers are organized by last name and that there is a broad consensus to do so in categories concerning fictional characters. I don't see any benefit to the encyclopedia of demanding that Patty Hewes must be alphabetized under "P", when it would be better under "H". I'm adding a "default sort" in order to help navigation through standard alphabetization backed up by policy and practice, and you're reverting me for no benefit that I can see. __ E L A Q U E A T E 21:39, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
And your last edit has a really strange edit summary for Ada Wong. Do you understand that having a "default sort" of "Wong, Ada" never changes how the article appears to be titled anywhere? It never says anything but "Ada Wong" in any of the category lists and nobody would ever read "Wong, Ada" anywhere. It's an invisible sort field for category navigation pages, telling it how to alphabetize the articles, but the name is always "Ada Wong".__ E L A Q U E A T E 22:19, 14 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ada Wong is known as "Ada" (and isn't a person). You really thought "Ocelot" was a surname of Revolver Ocelot, didn't you?[1] It's funny because you were accidentally right, but only because he's most known as Ocelot (which was also his original nickname). And what you linked is about comics characters: [2] With video games we roll like that: [3] We usually don't care about surnames so much that, for example Sophita Alexandra is just Sophitia and Jax Briggs is just Jax (Mortal Kombat). Also, a plenty of fictional characters who have surnames (many don't have any) are not even fictional people, because they're just not people (for example Morrigan Aensland and Wolf O'Donnell). --Niemti (talk) 11:03, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, for about the fifth time, I'll mention that you were reverting Patty Hewes in Category:Fictional lawyers, all sorted by surname. If there's a general style for specific Video game categories, that's fine, but these characters are being added to dozens of general fictional character categories, which have have their own styles. I can make some exception sorts for the video game categories, but the general categories will be handled as others are.__ E L A Q U E A T E 13:42, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

You know, I don't really care for Patti in particular. --Niemti (talk) 13:43, 17 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

And I only thought it made sense to sort Revolver Ocelot in the same way as Princess Zelda is sorted by "Zelda" and not "Princess". But I can try to make video game category exceptions in the future. __ E L A Q U E A T E

"Revolver" isn't a title. --Niemti (talk) 04:20, 18 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

Re: Talk:Ling Xiaoyu/GA1 and topic ban edit

You know, you've brushed the line a bunch, but you had managed not to give anyone a strong reason to block you again recently- until today. You are topic banned from the GA process, and have been for almost a year. That hasn't expired. And you were topic banned for exactly the reason that you showed at Talk:Ling Xiaoyu/GA1 - you argue vehemently against anyone who disagrees with you at all, but you are especially bad when it comes to GA reviewers asking for fixes/changes to an article. You successfully destroyed someone else's nomination by being incredibly aggressive and rude, and violated your topic ban in the process. As such, I'm blocking you for two weeks. When it expires, try to stay calm and stay away from GA nominations, and we won't have to revisit this issue. --PresN 03:34, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm so sorry to stand for Wikipedia standards and oppose the widespread Wikipedia:Reviewing good articles#Imposing your personal criteria practices by pointing out the actual GA guidelines. Which part was "incredibly aggressive" and which was "rude"? The one when I was like "please read" (and didn't even use Wikipedia:What the Good article criteria are not even as its's linked), or the one where a guy repeatedly told me I'm "gaming" and "wikilawyering" because I'm using real rules and not-make believe internet memes, or maybe where he insisted it doesn't matter Kokoro can't magically produce content that doesn't even exist because it's essential (while it's really not)? --Niemti (talk) 06:42, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Btw, "At minimum, a "reception" section with significant coverage of the character's reception by secondary sources is good enough for notability (specifically the GNG);" by Masem - guess what: It's really time that you admin guys stop spread and promote stupid memes like that over actual rules. These actual rules in this case, "for notability (specifically the GNG)": "In particular, the GA criteria do not require compliance with several major guidelines, including Wikipedia:Notability and the main Wikipedia:Manual of Style page." There's nothing wrong with this article's notability, but the whole issue is completely irrevelant to begin with. That's the point should be made, instad of some talk about "at minimum". --Niemti (talk) 06:57, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I really shouldn't respond to any of this, but that last bit is so ridiculous that I'm going to anyways- Masem was saying that the article was notable and that there was no reason that it couldn't be a GA with some work. "So the lack of this article's development section should not immediately be a strike against it for good article status or notability". He literally only wrote 3 sentences, and he was directly supporting the idea that the article could be a GA without any development section, but you're so wrapped up in your persecution complex that you assume that everyone is against you, all the time. I really wish you would just calm down, read other people's comments, and not assume that everyone is always a) wrong and b) out to get you. --PresN 07:24, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let me explain it to you in the simplest terms possible: in GAN reality (according to actual rules), everything in this aspect is always "at minimum" by default. Contrary to all kinds of memes. He's spreading and promoting a meme, again, instead of actual guidelines. And instead of "should not immediately be a strike against it for good article status" it "should never be a strike against it for good article status". --Niemti (talk) 07:28, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Anyway, what exactly was "incredibly aggressive" and what exactly was so "rude"? --Niemti (talk) 07:41, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let me explain it to you in the simplest terms possible: Masem was saying that in his and the video games wikiproject's general opinion, which has fuck-all to do with the written GA guidelines, a video game character article that has either a reception section or a development section meets whatever abstract minimum bar a character article needs to be a "good" article, and a) should have no issues with being deleted/merged (notability) and b) stands a good chance of being passed as an official GA, provided it meets the actual guidelines. He's spreading and promoting a "meme" about what kinds of articles are likely to meet the actual guidelines. Your utter inability to recognize that it's possible to have generally-agreed-upon broad standards for what an article generally needs in order to be likely to meet the more narrowly-written GA guidelines when it is actually nominated is completely baffling. The fact that you manage to drive away and alienate scores of other editors, and then have to ask what specifically about what you said was "aggressive"? Not so much. --PresN 07:45, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject's general opinion has fuck-all to do with the written GA guidelines indeed, and as such is completely irrevelant to GAN process. It was a 100% red herring regarding the issue, as GAN reviewer shouldn't ever even try to merit any article's notability or lack thereof. And I asked where exactly I was being "incredibly aggressive" there. --Niemti (talk) 07:57, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

GA has long considered the types of sources involved with an article, and the minimum standard for such sourcing is generally more aggressive than the minimum to meet notability. Hence an article that is most sourced to primary works, even if it has a few secondary sources to pass the notability bar, is probably going to be called out at GA , and if the article completely lacks secondary sources, it will likely fail GA's sourcing requirements. --MASEM (t) 15:19, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

And speaking of written rules (instead if memes): "As you are determining whether an article is complete, well-written, properly sourced, etc., you may find it useful to consult various community-wide guidelines or advice pages from WikiProjects. These guidelines are often very helpful, but be careful that you do not wrongly require compliance with any guideline that is not specifically mentioned by the Good article criteria. For example, reviewers must not fail an article over the presence or absence of an infobox, even if a relevant WikiProject has declared that infoboxes are extremely important (as some have) or extremely undesirable (as others have) in articles within their scope." Contrary to your meme, there are no "generally-agreed-upon broad standards". --Niemti (talk) 08:03, 5 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Jessica Nigri edit

Hi. Please do add uncited material to articles, as you did with your edits here and here to Jessica Nigri. If you're going to add material, please include a citation of a reliable source.

Second, place of birth is not mentioned in the opening paragraph, unless it is relevant to the subject's notability, as indicated by WP:OPENPARAGRAPH. In addition to stating this, it also provides four examples of opening paragraphs of biographical subjects, which do not mention the place of birth. However, you stated in your second edit summary that WP:LEAD says otherwise. Can you quote the portion of that guideline that indicates this? Thank you. Nightscream (talk) 01:11, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please use the magic of ctrl+F when in doubt and please don't ever ask for sourcing leads. --Niemti (talk) 01:14, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's odd, it used to be like "don't repeat references in the lead summary". --Niemti (talk) 01:22, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
You tried that same condescending talk the last time we had a conflict, and it's not working now, either. Do you really want to involve more admins to tell you stop violating WP:CIV as occurred in that last incident?
I did indeed do a search on WP:LEAD for the word "birth", and did not find any passage supporting your assertion. Hence, I'm asking you to provide the passage that does so. Is there some reason you can't do this when someone asks you?
Second, the passage you added is not sourced. Do you deny this?
Lastly, articles on Presidents tend to have a greater wealth of detailed information about them, including where they're from. The fact that George W. Bush is from Texas indeed goes to notability, so naturally, the opening paragraph will mention that, and for context, where he was born, since he was born in a place other than the state he was later known for living in.
Should I understand from your revert (the third time you added that info, in violation of 3RR), and your condescending comment above that you're refusing to discuss the matter in a civil manner? Nightscream (talk) 01:23, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I deny this. Of course I do. Infobox is a part of the article. --Niemti (talk) 01:28, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I didn't realize was in the Infobox. That still leaves the issue of what WP:OPENPARAGRAPH and WP:LEAD. Again, can you please point to where it says in WP:LEAD that that information goes in the opening paragraph? Can you tell me what your response is to the passage I pointed to in WP:OPENPARAGRAPH? Thank you. Nightscream (talk) 01:36, 20 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Chill out please edit

There's no need to get all uppity. We can sort this out like civilized people - just take it to the talk page and we'll discuss. There's no need for silly arguments and bickering or edit warring. :) --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 18:35, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

"lame sentences" is the information that Wikipedia needs (including dozens of separate list articles when "lame sentences" grow too large) and trivia is deleted. Btw, you and me both know "people" was you unlogged. (Also, don't use Random Capitalization in section titles. And no original research.) --Niemti (talk) 18:39, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it was me unlogged. What difference does it make? You're acting as if I was trying to eat your baby or something. I'm not entirely opposed to creating a characters section, but you didn't even want to discuss it - you just deleted everything as if you own the place. If you want to create a new section for characters that will serve as a replacement then feel free to do so. However, if you just want to blank whole sections of an article, then it's not right (especially when no reason is stated at first and when there's no consensus). If you don't want to create a replacement for the Voice actors section then leave it as it is, create a new entry at the article's talk page and let someone else do the new section. --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 18:45, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

List of The Witcher characters < add the notable characters, then add their actors. --Niemti (talk) 18:47, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

That list is in context of the book series - we're talking about the games and only one of the games to be precise, so it doesn't go together. --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 18:50, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's List of The Witcher characters not List of The Witcher novel characters. It's also a shitty article, so now you can work on it. The paragraph of how it's popular in Russia so this-or-that or whatever is original research, or at least completely unsourced. --Niemti (talk) 18:52, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's fairly obvious for anyone who lives in Eastern Europe and has heard of The Witcher, but you have a point there since this encyclopedia is meant to have an international point of view. That and this is the English version, so I see how people who only speak this language may not know of this at all. That section can be removed unless a good source is found. As for the other article, I still stand by my point as the article is written almost exclusively from the point of view of how the characters are presented in the novels. There are certain discrepancies between what happens in the books and the games; the game trilogy is set after the books and, although endorsed by him, none of its story is considered canon by the original author Andrzej Sapkowski. --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 19:07, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I do live in Eastern Europe, but you need to learn something about Wikipedia and welcome to Wikipedia. As I said, the article is shitty (an absolutely incomplete stub). You don't need to go there - look at Dead or Alive 5#Characters for the most random example, you can make a Characters section too. Now go, and zap to the extreme. --Niemti (talk) 19:20, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I already know about OR and have agreed with you on that part of your argument, as you should have noticed in my previous reply. Right now I am actually in the process of making a characters section in the article for the game, because you were too lazy to replace what you've deleted. :P What do you mean by zap in this context? Also, thanks for the Dead or Alive 5 example - it's a better archetype to use than what I was doing. Btw, out of curiosity, where are you from? --Samotny Wędrowiec (talk) 19:30, 18 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

And what about the numerous other sources that I removed which often don't even show up on WP:VG/RS? - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 10:48, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's all opinions, which aren't reliable by default (becasue they're subjective). These guys seem to be paid for their articles by the companies they work for, and it's approved by editors. (With the random SA user blogs, we've been removing them recently.) As for "WP:VG/RS" - do you really think Amiga Power was the only "reliable" Amiga magazine ever? Because all the other "don't even show up" there. And so there's not a trace of Amiga Format, and there's no CU Amiga neither, are you going to try to remove their references too? And so on. "WP:VG/RS" is totally worthless. But anyway: [6] --Niemti (talk) 10:55, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I know how much you rue the idea of working with the community, but pretend that we have a process of verifying source reliability for a reason. I like Gabriel Yuji as an editor because his response to the situation was a well-reasoned justification for the strength of articles included in the list, rather than an unjustified freak-out. GameFront is not an RS, and PSU is not an RS. If you think they should be, bring them up at WP:VG/RS. I'd be more than happy to have more usable sources. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 17:04, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
And you're doing it wrong. Was there really only one reliable Amiga mag ever? Was nothing from Poland ever reliable? What you should do instad is to shit list stuff, and use commons sense in any other case. --Niemti (talk) 17:07, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
For the record, that statement is downright depressing, Niemti. WP:VG/RS's promotion of Polish RSes dwarfs its promotion of any other non-English source. Seems like I wasted my time if even those who would use Polish sources deny their very existence at WP:VG/RS. Oh well... -Thibbs (talk) 11:44, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Niemti, let me repeat: you are not above everyone else. The only way that you get a free pass to use whatever sources you want is if you are considered the only editor that doesn't have to do proper citations. Further, no one is "shit listing" anything. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 17:10, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Are you going to start removing all the other other Amiga magazines only because NOTHING but Amiga Power "even show up on WP:VG/RS"? Y/N. And I'm cosidered what? What? --Niemti (talk) 17:14, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
The only way that it is acceptable for you to be disregarding WP:VG/RS and using sources that have gone largely un-vetted is if you're, I dunno, a Wikipedia Gold member? Anyway, I'm not going to answer the question that you keep answering because you seem to basically be arguing that WP:VG/RS doesn't need to exist. Bring sources to that page and argue their merits, then use them. Like the WP:VG peasants do. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 17:20, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't know what you talk about, people love shitting at me constantly (you too). You dodn't answer my question about (for example) all the other Amiga magazines and how does it matter they "don't even show up" there. Because I say: it doesn't matter at all, you might have another opinion so don't be shy and say it. --Niemti (talk) 17:27, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
People shit at you constantly because you have a terrible attitude. You were the absolute first person to enter that discussion re: the list and make the situation ugly. Tezero has just as much to "lose" if the character improvement drive were to go sour, and yet he's pretty humble and cooperative about it. Your problem is that you took it as a personal attack.
I didn't answer your question because the implication is that WP:VG/RS, the guideline people in the project use to figure out which sources are good and which are not, is in fact unreliable. Feel free to help strengthen the sources guide. Do not feel free to ignore it. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 17:39, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
But please answer my question. --Niemti (talk) 17:42, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's your responsibility to ensure that Amiga sources are listed on WP:VG/RS. Same as the sources that aren't listed there that you use. You can't just used assumed notability. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 17:49, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
And so when are you gouing to start removing all the Amiga magazine sources that are not from Amiga Power? --Niemti (talk) 17:59, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Sorry. I don't plan on doing that because our goals are different: I'm removing sources of sketchy reliability, you're trying to disrupt Wikipedia by saying "Well what about this! And this! And this!" If I remove the Amiga sources, then that entails that I remove any source you ask me to. You can feel free to do it yourself. Or bring them to WP:VG/RS. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 18:10, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
SOMEESSAYEXISTS. You think I actually wanted you to do it? Removing the Amiga mags sources would be an incredibly stupid thing to do, all I wanted was to demonstrate you the absurdity of your "don't even show up on WP:VG/RS" argument. --Niemti (talk) 19:13, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Btw, did you seriosuly list Ada Wong on your GA list? For your total of 5 edits (including 3 today)? Nice stolen valour. Keep on being classy. --Niemti (talk) 19:25, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I created the article. Sorry that all I did was bring the article into existence. You'd have had a point if my five edits were to make a shell of an article, but I created it and sourced it (with sources that aren't just YouTube, RE fansites, and Gameranx) to the point that it passed WP:NOTE. Something that you struggle to do yourself, considering how many articles use unverified sources as a crutch. I think making the article is a little bit of more value than when you made the article poorly. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 19:34, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
A-ha, and it was a GA class article: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ada_Wong&oldid=336698534 And yeah, it's me who uses "very, very bad sources" because yours awesome sources and excellent content, like Travis Moore, editor for the Daily Campus, stated that characters like Ada are cited as an example of characters who are in control of their sexuality, but added that this was only due to their "coy desirability" (what). Btw, I think Inquirer.net is even totally black-listed from linking today. Go and read this whole article. --Niemti (talk) 19:40, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
To confirm: Your quality is my quality four years ago. Well, that's pretty evident. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 19:43, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Sure! (When asked by IGN editors if Ada would appear in the game, Resident Evil 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi stated that a mystery woman appears in the game.) A serious question: whatever was "aquamarine.nu"? And "fyfre.com"? Oh! A reliable source! You have no shame. --Niemti (talk) 19:45, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I'm not one for settling for mediocrity like you seem to be, but oh well. By the way, is it accidental that all of the sources to which you defend have not had a single word spoken by you to demonstrate their reliability? I mean, wouldn't it be fair to say that this probably means that you know that they aren't, but are disrupting Wikipedia to avoid their removal? Honestly, it seems like clockwork: any situation you're in, an RfC has to be opened up because your idea of editing Wikipedia doesn't involve civility or even the semblance of cooperation with anyone. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 19:53, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
You're the one "settling for mediocrity", and shamelessly lying for no reason (I created it and sourced it (with sources that aren't just YouTube, RE fansites, and Gameranx) to the point that it passed WP:NOTE. Something that you struggle to do yourself, considering how many articles use unverified sources as a crutch.). Btw, there's nothing wrong with YouTube (nothing at all). And it seems "fyfre.com" was this (where they even say they were a "fansite"). OK, I'm done with you. See ya. --Niemti (talk) 20:01, 21 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why are you even trying? Seriously, why do you even do it? Protip: ...and copyright is of particular concern. I agree that there are flagrant double standards; I'm just less confident than you that they can be stopped. I mean, the first two RfCs haven't gotten anything from outside WP:VG. I'm not sure anyone even cares; video game articles aren't exactly taken the most seriously out of what Wikipedia hosts. You pose an interesting idea about actively seeking other editors, though; do you know who exactly these founders you speak of are? WonderCon pic edit

It honestly works a lot better in the late 2000s-2010s section, mainly because it concerns a late 2000s-2010s video game. Kind of random to put it in the best-selling franchises section. What was your rationale for that? TheStickMan[✆Talk] 00:07, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The thing's Tekken and SF are best-selling series ever not of 2000s. --Niemti (talk) 05:30, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Well yeah. But the picture concerns a game that was released in 2000s-2010s. Using it to represent two of the franchises there is kind of unnecessary. On a smaller note, the picture flat-out doesn't look good there. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 12:28, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's about how they both best-selling (and then there's their crossover, which ends the article). --Niemti (talk) 13:59, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oro (Street Fighter) edit

The reason why I removed the content from K. Thor Jensen on Heavy.com wasn't that the website wasn't reliable; it was the fact that the citation wasn't very strong. It was merely "I want Oro in SFIV", which doesn't say much strong about his actual character reception IMO. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 19:12, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dee Jay edit

The reason I removed the sources were that - ignoring their status as players of SFIV (professional players), their comments were about how well Dee Jay played rather than any real analysis of the character from a real-world POV. The other two mentions are stronger, but they're pretty basic one-off mentions; the substance basically amounts to "he's a loser" and "he's worse than Cammy and Fei-Long." - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 19:19, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

That they're good or bad to play is very much "a real-world POV". (I just prefer to relocate such things to gameplay sections if there are any. As in Ibuki (Street Fighter)#Gameplay, etc.) --Niemti (talk) 20:01, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

That'd be fine. As for the other two, they just sound like general support reception - ie, "a number of reviewers felt that Dee Jay wasn't super awesome in Super Street Fighter II such as these guys" or what have you. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 20:05, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

The article has had an "empty section" Gameplay for years (it's actually possible it was my tag). If you want you can write it up, guides are also good I guess (another example of me doing it, with bullet point list for each game discussed: Ayane (Dead or Alive)#Gameplay). --Niemti (talk) 20:11, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

That's probably my doing; I tend to lose interest a little too quickly in the "bringing to GA" step of an article. I'll try to get around to incorporating that into a dedicated gameplay section. I'm sure I'll get to making a decent Gameplay section, especially with better source-searching options. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 05:15, 3 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Punch-Out!! edit

The discussion that is occurring right now is one that focuses on whether the articles should remain as articles or be merged. The outcome of this discussion will be just as binding as the outcome of an AfD, so I do respectfully request that you do not ignore something just because it lacked bureaucracy. AfD is a fine system, but it shouldn't be disrupted just because someone doesn't like a very real and very effective consensus. You're basically requesting that I go through a number of hoops merely to obtain the same results. At this point in the discussion, you've made comments pertaining to non-GNG-related subjects, and your only arguments related to how well they fulfill GNG are bewilderment that they don't see that the articles pass GNG. You are welcome to participate in the discussion and help form the final and definite consensus. You are also welcome to not participate and have your input not be considered. If you do decide to continue to participate, please comment on the subject of what makes the sources good for these articles. "They're obviously notable" is not a strong argument, nor is "everyone's in a cabal of trying to destroy video game character articles." - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 09:50, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You want it gone, simply nominate it for deletion. And (I think so) you'll see how the random Wikipedia editors there will be confused by your nomination. --Niemti (talk) 09:53, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Or I will not waste AfD's time and will instead look at the fact that you are the only person demonstrated to feel that these articles do not satisfy GNG. You can choose to ignore the consensus and eventually get blocked if you want. Whatever consensus forms from that discussion is going to be something that you will have to deal with. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 09:58, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Because you will not succeed with ADF, as these articles are fine. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with them. And that's it. Anyway, whatever "the fact that you are the only person demonstrated to feel that these articles do not satisfy GNG" even supposed to mean? --Niemti (talk) 10:01, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
"you are the only person" means "only you". "demonstrated to feel" means "[are] shown to feel". "that these articles do not satisfy GNG" means "that the articles are notable". A simple statement overcomplicated for someone whose goal is to troll rather than to cooperate.
Here's an alternative: instead of letting you "win" and wish away all consensuses that you disagree with, I'm going to ignore your request. But hey, maybe you could nominate it for AfD? There is literally nothing to lose from your POV - you are so sure that AfD will prove the articles' notability, there's absolutely no risk of them being merged or deleted. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 10:06, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I say we should do this experiment: choose one of them and nominate it for deletion saying "I feel it doesn't pass WP:GNG" of whatever is your beef exactly. Don't tell the vidya crowd about it, but see how regular editors respond. Fine? --Niemti (talk) 10:09, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
That could never work because the vidya crowd would most certainly catch wind of it - either through those who have noticed the articles through the recent thread or through deletion sorting. Beyond that, it's in bad faith to exclude members of the video game community from the discussion, regardless of your perception of strictness within it. Is it a bit strict? Perhaps, but I would also say that communities like the comics or Star Wars communities are far too lenient. Mr. Sandman hardly has anything that asserts actual notability. A lot of people said he was hard, and then a few people gave him some half-way decent analysis. Even with the decent stuff, like the two conflicting sources on whether he was racist, it's rather light. Rest assured, Niemti, I want these articles to not be merged much more than you do. We just have different views on what's "good enough" to avoid being merged. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 10:16, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Then tell them to stay away. Don't make your own vote, and I won't participate too. Let's see what happens when regular, Wikipedia-wide standards are applied. Not arbitrary (in my opinion: totally make-believe) double standards. --Niemti (talk) 10:18, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
That is a really bad violation of WP:OWN. I'm not going to tell people that they can't participate, and I'm not going to disrupt AfD to make a point about a perhaps too-strict view of GNG by the Video games WikiProject. Trying to form a discussion that seeks to exclude the views of an entire group of opinions just because you don't agree with them is extremely questionable. Further, if you are referring to the difference in quality between Star Wars character articles and video game character articles, there is no double standard. Star Wars character articles put little effort into demonstrating notability. It's probably the best example of a series that is given the most special treatment for its characters. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 10:24, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Wha? I say I'll stay away from ADF and want to just demontrate how the articles are actually fine and absolutely up to Wikipedia's general standards ("general notability standards" included). I didn't say anything about "Star Wars character articles", but let's see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Star_Wars_characters includes articles such as Asajj Ventress - wtf is that? (there are 3 references, including a forum post and 2 starwars.com refs.) Oh, and Star Wars... video game characters: Delta Squad - NO references whatsoever. And you say you don't "want these articles to not be merged" but at the same time you so really want them to be merged? What? --Niemti (talk) 10:29, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Timmy didn't want to shoot Ol' Yeller, he had to shoot him. You're only making my point - the only difference between WP:VG and WP:SW is that WP:SW doesn't care about notability and we do. It's not double standards as it implies that characters under WP:SW are under WP:VG's purview, when they clearly are not. It's different standards. We have strong standards, they have weak standards. Also, I brought up Star Wars as a good example of the opposite end of strictness. WP:SW leads to bad articles. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 10:39, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You brought "Star Wars character articles" but I was talking about Wikipedia standards as a whole. Video game articles are not somehow separate from the rest of Wikipedia, like there's actually no autonomy for Star Wars articles too. There's only one real set of minimal standards for everything everywhere. And I've merged or redirected or deleted countless of articles myself - but they were actually sub-standard. Some of the recent examples: [7][8][9] --Niemti (talk) 11:01, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You'll be aware, but nevertheless: WP:3RR. bridies (talk) 15:09, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am not too much involved in all this drama, but I do want to punch in with the fact that AfD is for deleting articles, and article/project talkpages are for merging articles. AfDs can close as Keep and still get merged, because as some like Bridies has stated, just because something "meets GNG" doesn't mean it is fit for an article. It is just fit for inclusion somewhere on Wikipedia, such as a character list.
The popular thinking among some editors is that lists of characters can have "inherit notability" from their series, and don't need anything establishing notability, thus the other popular thinking is that if something on the list individually displays notability, it must be split. In truth, a list can be a collection of notable subjects, displayed in one place simply because there isn't the content available for a full article. If done correctly, list articles like this can work great. Blake (Talk·Edits) 18:35, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I absolutely don't think "inherit notability" exists. You know, I merged/redirected/deleted just countless (I don't know, maybe even hundreds by now) of unreferenced articles no matter of the subject, even got into arguments with people thinking that (like with some James Bond articles, there was a ridicalous ammount of them before my purge[10][11] and I wanted to rid of some more of them still but eventually gave up). Another problem is that people elsewhere actually even actively remove reception sections, giving such incomprehesible reasoning like that: Talk:Demona#Reception, and this is just really strange. --Niemti (talk) 20:02, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I actually personally would rather reception sections go the way that editor described. The reception section should not be a directory of every time a subject was mentioned. "Editor Bob of ReviewSite thinks this guy is awesome" means little to the reader. However, "many/some/a few reviewers think highly of the character" means much more, and doesn't bog down the reader with useless information. If they wish to check the sources to see exactly who said that, then they can.
However, back to my real point, it shouldn't matter whether an article is split or merged. In order to be split, an article should also have enough quality content which can not exist on the parent article. If an article is split as notable, but does not have the content to back it up, it should be merged back. Looking at all the merged articles, they had pretty weak amount of content. A subject can be equally notable and be covered in many different ways. Blake (Talk·Edits) 20:29, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Isn't https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Super_Macho_Man&oldid=611841198 "covered in many different ways"? Each having a separate paragraph now. Also, I'd like to try these "other venues", from outside the elitist clique and reaching out to general community - what are they? --Niemti (talk) 20:38, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am curious about why you have removed sourced material and press quotes from the Nox Arcana page and then posted a warning that the lead is too short. You shortened the summary lead quite considerably. Do you intend to write a longer lead? Ebonyskye (talk) 05:01, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Because the lead is a summary of an article and not a separate section. --Niemti (talk) 05:03, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

The lead was fine before you cut more than half of it. It was never a separate section. It was the lead. It summarized the content that appears later in the article in more detail. Basically you just moved stuff around removed citing from press but you didn't actually help the article. Ebonyskye (talk) 05:53, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

No, it wasn't. --Niemti (talk) 05:55, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have reworked the lead to "define the topic, establish context, explain why the topic is notable, and summarize the most important points." Rather than remove or move content, please be constructive and add something that will further meet the criteria. Cheers. Ebonyskye (talk) 08:22, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

What exactly of "Apart from trivial basic facts, significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article." you don't understand? --Niemti (talk) 08:25, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't want to get into an edit war, and I am trying to do my best. I do not believe anything in that lead was trivial; it was a summary. The fact that the band is on the Billboard charts is not trivial, and to give a general description of the music is in line with the requirements. And "significant information should not appear in the lead if it is not covered in the remainder of the article." All of the info IS covered in the article. Can you perhaps show me an example of a good summary for a band? Ebonyskye (talk) 08:32, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Would you please JUST READ THE GUIDELINE? And sample: Metallica. --Niemti (talk) 08:33, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I did read the guideline. Could you please look at THIS article and let me know if it meets the same standard for the lead that you have set for Nox Arcana. I think it's closer in scope than Metallica. Ebonyskye (talk) 09:17, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

A bit better. --Niemti (talk) 09:57, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'll keep at it, if you think it's still lacking. But I added some noteworthy stuff, re-ref'd the cites that got moved, and summarized as much as possible, without removing every third word. I left the warning for now. So please don't just revert, as it is a work in progress, plus reverting deletes a couple of refs. Ebonyskye (talk) 11:10, 10 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Do you approve of the lead now? I tweaked it a bit and added new data and refs to the body to support the summation of the points in the lead. So, if you have no other objections, I would like to remove the banner. Otherwise, I could pull some of the highlights from the album pages, or I could mention how the members met, but was worried about the article becoming redundant or trivialized. Hey, N., thanks for the link, but I'm presuming you sent it because I reverted Lg16spears's edits. Rename request edit

Hey there, I saw your rename request for TRIGGERWARNING and I just wanted to ask whether you wanted to go through with it. From a rules and a technical basis, there's nothing wrong with it, but on a personal basis I just wanted to ask if there was anything going on. I just simply want to know exactly what you mean by your rationale, that's all. bibliomaniac15 20:11, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough. Just wanted to make sure you weren't being pointy. bibliomaniac15 20:53, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
We have been discussing your change of name at WP:BN, User:TRIGGERWARNING. It appears to be intentional violation of your topic ban [12]. Even if not for the topic ban, there is cause for blocking to force a change as it is designed to be disruptive to certain editors. There are a number of ways we can go about this, but I recommend you request a different name, as that is what will create the least amount of drama and blockage along the way. If you want to dispute this, you can always go to WP:BN or we can open a case at WP:AN but the evidence is pretty clear and if you make the next move, there not be a call for sanctions by me. Battletoads in Battlemaniacs edit

I'm thinking about nominating Battletoads in Battlemaniacs for good article status, but I wanted your opinion on it beforehand since you contributed quite a lot to the article before I did. The gameplay and plot sections are fine, I think (maybe the wording on the gameplay section could be changed slightly). The reception section is a little bare, but it has both praise and criticism of the game in what little reviews I could find. The only lacking section is development/release. I can't find any interviews or "making of" articles for the game, so the only content in that section talks about the Master System version. Could be a problem, but if there's nothing to talk about, there's nothing to talk about.

What do you think? — SolarStarSpire (talk) 23:37, 12 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Princess Daphne (character), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page George and the Dragon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Or maybe you should first see what's going on instead of stupid random reverts. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 15:29, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I was just about to self revert ("don't template the regulars"), but I must say that providing a useful edit summary would have helped avoid misunderstanding.  —SMALLJIM  15:33, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Also I could just use use a move when changing to "1983 video game" from the old "video game" (there's also a 1990 game), but oh well. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 15:37, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
You could contact an admin and do a formal move proposal, then they could move the history with the page. Copy and paste moves are really discouraged because of loss/confusion of history. See WP:HISTMERGE for why, and WP:REPAIR for requesting it to be fixed. Blake (Talk·Edits) 16:24, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
SNAAAAKE!! - First, please note that I know nothing about this topic. Am I right in my understanding that you removed the content of Talk:Dragon's Lair and pasted it to Talk:Dragon's Lair (1983 video game), because you believe that that content applies to the 18931983 video game and not the franchise? If that's the case then as Blake says, a proper move is the only right way to do this. However, looking at the content of Talk:Dragon's Lair, it doesn't look to me as if it is exclusively about the 18831983 game. Could you elucidate, please?  —SMALLJIM  16:48, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Distributed by Steam, of course :)  —SMALLJIM  20:18, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I guess the article was about everything Dragon's Lair at first, like in the early 2000s before all the other game articles were split or soemthing. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 19:30, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
OK, well I'll put it back and if you still think it should be moved to the other article, you can start a discussion – but I think a note on the 1983 talk page that there's relevant discussion on the "parent" page would be the best way to proceed (in fact I think there may even be a template for that - I'll have a look).  —SMALLJIM  20:18, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
As an aside, someone will need to sort out the links in Dragon's Lair (disambiguation).  —SMALLJIM  20:35, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Dragon's Lair talk page edit

Please stop blanking the Dragon's Lair talk page. Is there some reason you're doing other than blatant vandalism? — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 15:32, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

How about you sometimes check what has happened to the article (which is now about something else, that is the series) instead of knee-jerk reverts. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 15:34, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

How about you provide edit summaries when you blank pages? I see this is being discussed above as well, no need to continue here too. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 18:28, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Deleting talk page content, even if you disagree with it, is extremely bad form. In fact, your last revert puts you at 3RR. Consider this your final warning to cease and desist. --McDoobAU93 18:49, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I don't "disagree with it", it's now on another page and completelly irrevelant. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 19:20, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Then handle it properly. Deleting the content without explanation is not doing that, to say nothing of the page move that started all this. The warning stands. Seek help from administrators or more experienced users in order to get this moved over properly. --McDoobAU93 19:25, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
I assume this is aimed at SNAAAAKE!! and not at me, since I only reverted the blanking twice. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 18:52, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Have just seen your addition re this above the 2014 events section. June 2014 edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Luigi. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware, Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made; that is to say, editors are not automatically "entitled" to three reverts.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 331dot (talk) 14:00, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Cool story, now apply to yourself. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 14:07, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure if you are right or not; I was only responding to the lack of edit summaries. That said, you can only control your behavior; two wrongs don't make a right. It is not edit warring to restore the status quo and request further discussion. I suggest you take any issues you have to the relevant talk pages, and explain the reasoning for your edits in the summary. 331dot (talk) 14:09, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

So check if I am right or not and come back then. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 14:10, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Whether you are right or not is immaterial, and frankly I was passing by and have little desire to be more deeply involved in the disputes you are having; continually reverting edits is disruptive no matter who is doing it. You should make use of the procedures available to you as described above; and if people are edit warring with your posts, you are free to make the appropriate reports.(which someone has done with you) 331dot (talk) 14:13, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Then pls control yourself while "passing by" (whatever it means). --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 14:16, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure what "control yourself" means, and why I need to do so, as we all can edit pretty much any page we wish at any time; I was watching the recent changes page. 331dot (talk) 14:20, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Because it is "material" that you need to control yourself and stop reverting randomly while "passing by". --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 14:21, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

It wasn't "random"; I had a valid reason to do so (lack of edit summaries, which you still aren't doing). That said, I will have no further comment; I suggest you do as I initially suggested above. 331dot (talk) 14:22, 22 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Awesome username edit

I didn't notice that you were Niemti at first glance — and it doesn't matter, either. Your new username is awesome, for obvious reasons. Kurtis (talk) 00:48, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for June 25 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Soliciting comment... edit

Hi! Would you care to review my FA nomination for the article Of Human Feelings? The article is about a jazz album by Ornette Coleman, and the criteria for FA articles is at WP:FACR. If not, feel free to ignore this message. Cheers! Dan56 (talk) 02:24, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ghost in the Shell edits edit

The old PS1 game is an entity unto itself, which is why it has its own section. The PS2, PSP, and other video games are adaptations of Stand Alone Complex which is why they do not have their own independent header. Please stop removing the video games section header.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:15, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's an adaptation, of the manga. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 11:17, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
It is not clear if it is the manga or the 90s movies. Leave it separate or bring up your arguments on the article's talk page instead of edit warring to your preferred version. You made a bold edit. You were reverted. Do not keep restoring that bold edit of yours.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:19, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
It is absolutely clear: the films had no tachikomas fuchikomas, had a very different art style, etc. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 11:21, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
This is your final warning. Stop edit warring and bring up discussion on the talk page. Your proposed edits have been rejected by another editor. This does not mean that you keep putting your different preferred version back in instead of keeping to the status quo.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:23, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Also, simply nothing from the films (or rather: the film, because the other one was yet to be made) is referenced in the game. This is your final warning. Stop edit warring and bring up discussion on the talk page. Your proposed edits have been rejected by another editor. This does not mean that you keep putting your different preferred version back in instead of keeping to the status quo. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 11:24, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Don't parrot back my warning at you. This is WP:BRD, a basic etiquette on this website. You made a bold edit (removing the separate section). I reverted it. Now instead of you repeatedly restoring the preferred version, a discussion should be made on the article's talk page so a wider audience can decide if there is a new consensus for your proposed changes. Neither of us should be edit warring over this because as soon as one revert was made a discussion should have taken place instead of being stubborn and asserting that your new version should be the one on the article. Start a thread at Talk:Ghost in the Shell to suggest that the section regarding the 1997 video game be part of the manga section rather than its own separate section instead of restoring your preferred version of the page.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:28, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
And FFS, you and I have been here long enough to know better.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:33, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Maybe you should learn some basic facts about the subject before doing any stupid reverts just because something is "not clear" for you. How about that? Sounds good? --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 11:34, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't matter what you or I think what is adapted from what, Niemti. There's a standing consensus (all the fighting I had with ChrisGualtieri over the past year and a half) that decided on the 1997 video game having its own separate section. If you think the video game doesn't deserve its own section, then you start a discussion on the talk page like a normal person instead of edit warring over it.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:36, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you think the video game does deserve its own section for some reason, then elaborate your uncleariness on the talk page like a normal person instead of edit warring over it. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 11:40, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
It's not my place to argue for the previous version of the page. You changed it. You were reverted. You need to argue for the change.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 11:41, 3 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

3RR edit

Your recent editing history at Ghost in the Shell shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Dragon reviews edit

The short Dragon blurbs that you keep removing were added years ago by User:BOZ, so that users would know to contact him for review transcripts. See this discussion. What you're doing damages WikiProject Video games and borders on vandalism, particularly when you get into pointless edit wars over it. Please stop this disruptive editing. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:23, 6 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Seconded; removing legitimate contemporary reviews, even if they don't have a lot of content beyond the rating, is just vandalism. Please don't delete content. --PresN 03:10, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Please don't re-spam 'content' about some mysterious "the game", "a game", and/or "BattleToads" (there's no such game) into the Battletoads series article. And welcome to Wikipedia. --SNAAAAKE!! (talk) 08:04, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Blocked for 2 weeks- you are correct that that was the series page and reception for a specific game might not go there, but you've been warned before about the "learn2read" and "welcome to wikipedia", not to mention the contentious reverting you've been doing the last week and the general dismissiveness. You've been on permanent probation, and I'm not interested in making excuses for why this particular round of incivility may or may not cross the line. --PresN 15:15, 7 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Knowing the user is presently blocked w/o talk page access, I've checked the image and it was removed from the article it was properly sourced for, so I have restored it and removed the deletion warning. --MASEM (t) 21:06, 10 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
