- An RfC on the administrator resysop criteria was closed. 18 proposals have been summarised with a variety of supported and opposed statements. The inactivity grace period within which a new request for adminship is not required has been reduced from three years to two. Additionally, Bureaucrats are permitted to use their discretion when returning administrator rights.
- Following a proposal, the edit filter mailing list has been opened up to users with the Edit Filter Helper right.
Technical news
- Wikimedia projects can set a default block length for users via MediaWiki:ipb-default-expiry. A new page, MediaWiki:ipb-default-expiry-ip, allows the setting of a different default block length for IP editors. Neither is currently used. (T219126)

More than ten years ago, you applied indefinite full-protection. However, for the last five years 123456 has been the most used password and has become a textbook example of a weak password. Therefore, I think the number is notable enough to warrant a disambiguation page. I submitted the page for creation at WP:AFC, but AngusWOOF rejected it. There has never been a deletion discussion concerning this page, but your decade-year-old comment that consensus this isn't a notable number
has stood in the way of its creation. Could you please re-review this matter and ping me a response?

Guideline and policy news
- A request for comment asks whether partial blocks should be enabled on the English Wikipedia. If enabled, this functionality would allow administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces, rather than the entire site.
- A proposal asks whether admins who don't use their tools for a significant period of time (e.g. five years) should have the toolset procedurally removed.
- Following a successful RfC, a whitelist is now available for users whose redirects will be autopatrolled by a bot, removing them from the new pages patrol queue. Admins can add such users to Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist after a discussion following the guidelines at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Redirect whitelist.

Peter specifically (if it is indeed peter)) was trying to do up the article about himself, and then, due to the very thoughtful editors who love process - proceeded to identify coi and block, and now you have released him onto wikipedia. who is there to help or monitor his understanding of what wikipedia is WP:NOT ? I do not think from his first attempt he has any idea, I have tried to raise his response (nothing), and some people whom I thought were in contact with him, (no luck), and I really think there is something very lacking in the whole process... maybe wikipedia process, but with a potentially valuable contributor, all haste and little or no anything else... - Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
- When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [1]

- Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators

Russia page
You know, I am trying to help people learn and people like you are disrupting it, I have good faith in putting good and accurate information for everyone. I request that the page at least has a steady sign instead of decrease because Russia's population decline did halt. I'm so mad that nobody will even allow me to help, it's so disgraceful and intolerable that I can't even edit one thing without being threatened by another user. Please fix at least part of the page or else the warring may continue and if you block me, then people will never learn anything from bad sources. - Following a discussion, Twinkle's default CSD behavior will soon change, most likely this week. After the change, Twinkle will default to "tagging mode" if there is no CSD tag present, and default to "deletion mode" if there is a CSD tag present. You will be able to always default to "deletion mode" (the current behavior) using your Twinkle preferences.

- Following the 2020 Steward Elections, the following editors have been appointed as stewards: BRPever, Krd, Martin Urbanec, MusikAnimal, Sakretsu, Sotiale, and Tks4Fish. There are a total of seven editors that have been appointed as stewards, the most since 2014.

Bullied for years
Hello. I have made complaints for several times at many instances of the Wikipedia, but until now didn't get any constructive answer. I seems that Wiki bureacrats are afraid of taking a decision against discrimination. Years ago I composed a text (Pedro Scuro) which - entirely out of the blue - was considered "promotional" by some reviewer, who did not care to explain his reasons. This was said to be a "gentle approach", followed by silence and by a discriminatory block against myself. Utterly disgusted with such a misogynist attitude I simply gave up contributing, until last week, when I edited a new article (Francesco Sidoti) which seems to blocked as well. I then decided to ask for Dispute Resolution but the matter seems so complicated that no answer was given. I believe that now I'm addressing an editor with a fresh approach. - I'm sorry that your experience of editing Wikipedia has been negative. The Pedro Scuro was deleted following a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pedro Scuro. Your block log shows you haven't been blocked. Your new Draft:Francesco Sidoti hasn't been deleted. You shouldn't use your user page to post the Pedro Scuro article. Dropped by your talkpage to personally thank you for blocking the disruptive editor Pamasawata0296. I also dropped by to ask if it is possible to tag an already blocked account for sockpuppetry.
Prior to his spree of disruptive edits, I had reported the user to NinjaRobotPirate as a possible sockpuppet of Albe23413. The said user has compiled a long list of sockpuppet accounts, which I've reported to various administrators such as Bbb23, El_C and NinjaRobotPirate. For my active pursuit of reporting him, I have become the subject of his harrassments, which includes being stalked to see if I've reported his new sockpuppet or outright harassing me on my talkpage. I was again a victim of his harassment as the unconstructive edits of his such as this consisted of him shouting in Filipino, which when translated reads: YOU SON OF A BITCH!!! GARDO VERSACE!!! YOU ARE A DUMB EDITOR ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND YOU ARE ALSO A BLOCKER YOU ANIMAL!!!! I HOPE YOU DIE OF COVID YOU HAVE NO MERCY AND YOU ARE HEARTLESS YOU FOOL!!! YOU SHOULD BE WITH SATAN IN HELL!!!! The shouting all but confirms his anger at being repeatedly reported by me, which can be read as an admission of his being a sockpuppet of Albe23413.
Other than the above, as I have mentioned, I had reported the user to NinjaRobotPirate before he was blocked for unconstructive editing. In the said report I attached the following diffs to bolster my claim that the said user is an Albe23413 sock:

If officially tagged, Pamasawata0296 would be Albe23413's 15th sock account since his first block for sockpuppetry in July 2019.
