Pop culture edit

I reverted your edit to Office Assistant adding that Clippy appeared in The Amazing World of Gumball, as the only source I could find briefly mentioned it, which is against the guideline that, for example, "an article in Polygon reviewing the latest episode of The Mandalorian which does not go into any detail about bone broth but simply mentions that Baby Yoda drank some in that episode is not sufficient to include in the article because it does not provide any in-depth coverage of the subject of the article". Thank you! QuietCicada - Talk 14:33, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

The episode Clippy appears in is called The Void, which is an episode from Season 3 of the show. The context of the scene is that Gumball tells his friend that everything in the titular void is a bad idea, causing Clippy to suddenly appear and ask if Gumball needs help writing an email. You can watch the scene in its entirety on this upload to the official Gumball Youtube channel: [1] PeteTheRock155 (talk) 20:59, 11 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry for the confusion. Basically, the guideline says that if there isn't a reliable secondary source (eg. an article from a reliable outlet, but not an official upload) that dedicates at least a paragraph or so to the specific element (in this case, Clippy), pop culture entries can't be added. This rule is in place to make sure that all pop culture entries are actually significant (because a secondary source recognized them). QuietCicada - Talk 00:08, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

May 2024 edit

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Burnout Revenge, you may be blocked from editing. TheDeviantPro (talk) 00:32, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

You are not a moderator. Burnout Revenge was referenced by name several times in the episode, did you even watch it? PeteTheRock155 00:59, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't matter if I watch it or not, you're repeating violating the Wikipedia guidelines on trivia and popular culture sections by refusing to provide a reliable source to show notability. As per guideline "Cultural references about a subject should not be included simply because they exist. A Wikipedia article may include a subject's cultural impact by summarizing its coverage in reliable secondary or tertiary sources", which you have failed to do so. Also, I've notice that you were warned about adding unsourced I popular culture sections to a another article months prior. No, I'm not a moderator or admin but I can revert your edits if you're violating Wikipedia guidelines and warn you according on your talk page and if you continue add unsourced additions or disruptive editing, I can report you to the admins who will most likely block you from editing. User:Sigehelmus tried to re-add the section with a source but unfortunately it still fails MOS:POPCULT as the source didn't even mentioned the game, as the guideline also states; "A source should cover the subject's cultural impact in some depth; it should not be a source that merely mentions the subject's appearance in a movie, song, television show, or other cultural item". Which means the game appearing in the TV show must talked about by a reliable source for it to be included in the Burnout Revenge article. I did a quick Google search and couldn't any reliable sources that covered Burnout Revenge appearance in Smiling Friends, let alone mentions it. TheDeviantPro (talk) 00:28, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
"the Landlord" character in Smiling Friends mentions and shows the game several times (can't link YouTube clip on here but search "Smiling Friends but it's just the Landlord" on YT) during the episode. It's a notable if not central part of his entire gag. The episode just came out too but Burnout Revenge is already seeing a rise in memory and discussion from it. ~Sıgehelmus♗(Tøk) 00:37, 23 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
You and Pete are missing the point entirely, neither of you two haven't provided ANY reliable source that shows notability for inclusion of the game appearance on TV show on the Burnout Revenge article at all. Also "Burnout Revenge is already seeing a rise in memory"? Do you any reliable source to back up this claim? Because it seems to me that you're just speculating.
