Hi Paul,
I don't know the etiquette for working with people on Wikipedia, so I apologize in advance of what I'm doing constitutes some kind of breach.
I wrote a couple of weeks ago about an entry on Gregory Masurovsky and wanted to follow up. Do I address my response to you? (And I'm attaching it again in case it didn't make it through before.) Or am I supposed to take up in some other venue like the Teahouse? As a rookie, I'm feeling my way around here.
Thanks again for your efforts.
Hi Paul,
Owleyesinthelibraryhere. Thanks for your quick review of the draft on Gregory Masurovsky.
First, about whether Masurovsky is noteworthy. His work is in many prestigious collections in the US and Europe (the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Fine Art, the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, etc.); that indicates he is an artist of some stature whose work is worth preserving. Also, he is also one of eight alumni and former teachers selected for a series of special publications put out by Museum and Arts Center of Black Mountain College, which underscores his stature. Admittedly, little is written about him in English; I believe it is because he lived in France where he developed his career, partly as an illustrator of French-language books. I hoped a Wikipedia entry would help the interested find information about him more readily.
Second, about the citations. I wondered if including the blog would be a red flag. It had the dates of death. I have since found two other sources, which were used for that information. I would like to delete sources one and two but can’t figure out how or find any information on doing so.
As you can tell, I’m new at this. I took a stab at correcting the issues using the general guidelines. If there are still issues, specific comments would help me address them.
Thanks for your efforts and time. Owleyesinthelibrary (talk) 21:24, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
I'm new at this so if replying directly is a breach of etiquette, apologies. I'm afraid you're right; there aren't enough secondary sources on Kenneth Knack. I did find the direct references to artist notability and secondary source guidelines helpful.
I noticed you've written extensively on artists and wondered if you could look at a second piece I did on an illustrator, Gregory Masurovsky. (It was also rejected. And, again, if this is a breach of etiquette, apologies.) Given the number of his works in museum collections and published works, I think he meets the notability requirement. Admittedly, there are few secondary sources available (His time period and having spent his career in France I would guess are partly responsible for that.). Most of the information comes from one source, a university publication. Is that a deal-breaker? (Also, I tried to delete a blog (a red flag) as a source but couldn't figure out how to do it.)
Thanks again. Owleyesinthelibrary (talk) 20:46, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
