Thanks. Basically i think maybe a second person to design the newsletter when I'm not available (I'm very busy this month coincidentally and will be start of next month as well). Hello when i checked the user that i welcome has made no contributions to Wikipedia can you please be specific about what user your talking about also,There is no way in telling what a users attention maybe until they edit wikipedia and only after that would I'v been able to tell,in addition the welcome template is being placed so that it can insire user to make useful contributions,Take a look if you like if not that's ok to.If you have any other concerns please feel free to contact me.
What a brilliant finale to Round 1. With so little in it it was always going to be a tight contest, particularly in the all-important wildcard places. Congratulations to all those who have made it to Round 2, and commiserations to all who have been eliminated. I hope you continue to contribute as fully as you have been in the tournament, if not better!

The start of Round 2 has been in some respects an explosive one, with one user in particular almost in the triple figures after just a week. There are obviously contestants with no points or very few, but as it is so early in the round this can probably be excused. Keep it up everyone!

Thank you for the careful editing concern. However, I have found the editorial sources to be unreliable. I will renew my edit with explanation.
Thank you for the reply and the recommendation on wiki signing. I will do so from now on. As for reasons, if you pay particular attention to the article titled "Jazz Behind the Fire" by Justin Ward, you see a rather unbalanced viewpoint, coming from exclusively one side. This biased style of editorial reporting seems consistent with the other references.
I'm not sure if you've read the full history of the KOOP (FM) article, but if you get a chance, look at the history around September 2008. I'm trying to assume good faith with Aleccawthorne123, but at the same time, I'm wondering if this isn't a road the article has been down before. —C.Fred (talk) 21:40, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
I've had a quick look and I see your point. Whatever the reasons, there can be denying a fire (or two) took place, so this user has no excuse for removing this section. I do not really understand the reasoning he gave above either- and to be honest, I can't be bothered to search for an article by Justin Ward. On the assessment side, there are still a lot of articles that need to be assessed for their quality and their importance to this project. Interest has now dipped in this area. Have we reached our peak or are there more out there?
Good luck to the people involved with to all the people involved in getting Edgar Speyer from good article status to featured article status. Well done for this achievement.
Please can people become more involved with other areas of the portal. The portal still seems to be only gaining contributions on the selected article and picture areas but now this area seems to be losing interest.
As usual, this issue is in the current format and is still awaiting suggestions for other improvements. The two newest DYK suggestions were added below. As a bonus if you add your DYK to the portal, it will also be added to the newsletter next time.
Please provide any suggestions for any improvements to this newsletter and any comments or anything else to include in the next issue. Please can ideas be given for a better layout on this newsletter. Feedback is much appreciated.
This newsletter is also looking for another editor to collaborate with since the departure of Unisouth. I am currently going to be busier until June so could i please ask that during the start of May, someone could create the may newsletter? If anyone is up for the task, pleasee use my talk page and i will give the sources of information for this issue (including some new sources thanks to a recent change mentioned above).

Greenlands - Oxon or Bucks

Hi there. I know Henley is in Oxon (which I know you're not disputing) and the Greenlands contact page lists it as Oxfordshire too. Whilst I am accept that it is possible for such pages to show a mistake, in the absence of any contrary evidence the article must go with logic and its references and state Oxfordshire. If you can provide a reputable source stating it is in Bucks then obviously we can change the reference and the text to bring it up to date. a_boardley (talk) 16:19, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
We use geographical counties here, not postal. Otherwise Cliveden would be in Berkshire etc. Wycombe District Council fact files clearly show that Greenlands lies in Buckinghamshire. See [1] and [2]. That's all I can find. I will revert back to Buckinghamshire, as it is correct. Most sources will use the incorrect geographical county. Thanks. There is a proposal for a bot to tag all articles in London-related categories as falling under WikiProject London or WikiProject London Transport. The upside of this is that it will give us a much better idea of how many articles we have and help to promote the two projects to people who may not be aware of them. The downside is that it will greatly increase the number of unassessed articles; the manual tagging of articles in Category:Tourist attractions in London to test the viability of the proposal added over 2,000 articles to WP:LONDON and over 50 articles to WP:LT. Please comment on the proposal and on which categories should be included if it goes ahead here.
Even aside from those pages that will be added by the bot, there are still a lot of articles that need to be assessed for their quality and their importance to this project. It's easy and quick; please get involved if you can!
Template:Nearest tube has recently been proposed for deletion. Those who use this template – or those who don't find it useful – are invited to join the discussion.
It's been said before, but please can people become more involved with other areas of the portal. The portal still seems to be only gaining contributions on the selected article and picture areas but even this area seems to be losing interest. If anyone has any suggestions about how to raise the profile of the portal and/or increase participation, please do suggest it!
The new Article Alerts system means that things that happen to articles such as nominations for deletions, featured status etc are more easily reported. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject London Transport/Article alerts although for some of the articles, these would have to be seen at Wikipedia:WikiProject London/Article alerts or for rail transport related articles, most would have to be checked out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Trains/Article alerts. By watchlisting the appropriate Alert pages, you can see right away when relevant articles are nominated at GAC/FAC, proposed for deletion etcetera, making it much easier to keep track of any proposed changes that may affect articles that interest you. Transport articles sometimes suffer because many of those who comment at Articles for Deletion, Featured Article Candidates etc aren't necessarily aware of what's significant and what isn't; although discussions can sometimes look daunting, please don't be afraid to get involved if you have an opinion on an article that's being discussed.
As Simply South is busy, this is my first time as editor, so if there are any mistakes feel free to correct them or point them out to me. As usual, this issue is in the current format and is still awaiting suggestions for other improvements. The two newest DYK suggestions were added below. As a bonus if you add your DYK to the portal, it will also be added to the newsletter next time.
Please provide any suggestions for any improvements to this newsletter and any comments or anything else to include in the next issue. Please can ideas be given for a better layout on this newsletter. Feedback is much appreciated.

Regarding Rehoboth Carpenter family - We have surveyed, we have compromised, we have repeatedly asked to user Iwanafish to communicate. He refuses with his snide comments and reversions to non-wiki versions. We have warned him "offically" a lot more than 3 times. Repeatedly, we have asked for mediation, we have asked for help and I do not know who else to ask. Can you pass this up the chain of editors?
User Iwanafish continues to disrupt and vandalize this page and it has spread his behavior to other pages. John Carpenter (bishop)John Carpenter, town clerk of London What else can we do but shut down the articles involved and provide warnings that when they are restored by user Iwanafish that they are garbage? Has wikipedia lost the ability to police itself? I am beginning to think this is a hopeless cause where such bullies can inflict such damage to wikipedia. What else can be done?

Hi. I have received your message. ok, you can delete it, but do not delete 2014 stock, because I made 2013 stock only, and the 2014 stock was already made, but I only edited it.
Sorry, but you must be mistaking. I have only re-created the 2013 stock one, but I have not created the 2014 at all. It is made by someone else.

This is very strange, because I have not created 2014 tube stock at all. (I have re-created 2013 stock only)
I have not been on Wikipedia for a long time, and today was the first time I met those pages and the future of the Tube.
Let's see how the PROD goes, unlike 2013 this one wasn't previously deleted, and I can find vague mentions of Piccadilly line upgrades by 2014, although nothing concrete about the rolling stock - maybe someone else can come up with something. --Pontificalibus (talk) 22:10, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

This is just a quick reminder that the round ends this Friday, May 29, 2009.
I wanted to let you guys know the current standings. If you are very close, but not close enough, work as hard as possible these next two days. Pool leaders are listed as usual, and under the 10 wildcards, are competitors that are still fighting for a spot. Also, if you currently have any un-reviewed GAN's up and you'd like them to be reviewed and counted for this round, you must place them on the appropriate thread of the WikiCup talk page.
Hi all. Round 2 is officially over, and we're very pleased with the results. The lowest passing score was over 200! We are very impressed with the last minute pushes to get a spot, which many of you did through mainspace editing your butts off for the last week or so. We really hope that those of you who did a lot of mainspace editing this time around will take some of that and turn it into good and featured content next round.
The pools for Round 3 will be up soon; the round starts tomorrow, June 1, 2009. As always, nominations that were nominated last round but not passed yet, may count for this round. Hope to see you all working very hard, as you are down to the Top 16, and it's going to take a lot to make the Top 8!

So to begin with good luck and well done to the people who keep attaining Featured article or list status to articles such as Richmond Bridge, London we would all like to thank you for doing one of the hardest jobs on the project and another thank you to all that helped out with this month's metro, it has been hard since Unisouth's departure but we have all kept it together by working hard. I would also like to give a special thanks to iridescent and DavidCane for writing the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway and Battersea Bridge articles in the amazing way that they did. Together those two have contributed to >70 per cent of the GA/FA articles in this Project so a large well done to those two!
The List of London Underground stations article is on featured review so please if you have anything that could improve the article, please add it.
It has been mentioned in previous editions but we really need people to get involved in other areas of the portal, the interest rate in it has dropped rapidly so if you know anyone interested in London Transport that isn't already a member please ask them to get involved in the portal. For the future of this Project.
The new system of Article Alerts has become a big hit, providing easy and quick access to information and developments on articles such as deletion and nominations to FA/FL status as well as many others so if you ever need information you can simply add the relevant page to your watchlist and wait for the updates to come in.
And finally talk pages may seem like a daunting prospect but still it is a good idea to voice your opinion once in a while. Who knows? Your single (relevant) comment could save an article from deletion or even boost it's chances of being promoted to FA/FL status.
As usual all suggestions to improving the metropolitan are welcome so if you have one we would be happy to hear from you.
This is my first time on the job, I have decided to fill the empty job space since Unisouth's departure, so as with standard procedure feel free to correct any mistakes and update any old links if necessary.
