@Janggun Dungan: On the Sealy Tarns walk at Mt Cook, New Zealand. It was a beautiful hike! - OliverEastwood (talk) 07:59, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

Yep, a gorgeous hiking paradise! Would you mind my adding the corresponding category? --Janggun Dungan (talk) 08:18, 4 April 2019 (UTC)

GA Reviews

Hi Oliver. Thank you for taking an interest in GA reviewing. We have quite a large backlog so it is great to get new reviewers interested in the process. If you would like some help with any reviews feel free to ask me or at the Wikipedia:Good article help page. The Good article process is supposed to be lightweight so there is nothing wrong with immediately passing articles that meet the criteria as long as you indicate that they are met. Most nominators are generally looking for some feedback so feel free to post comments on where you think the article can be improved. Most nominators even welcome comments outside that given in the criteria, although disagreements in this should not impede an article passing. Thanks again for getting involved and I hope to see you around. AIRcorn (talk) 07:42, 5 April 2019 (UTC)

Women in Red

Hi there, OliverEastwood, and welcome to Women in Red. I'm pleased to see you intend to help us with improving Wikipedia's coverage of women. As a fairly recent contributor, you might find it useful to look through our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 13:06, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

@Ipigott: Your "Women in Red" need WP:disambiguation. Is there a special WikiProject devoted to mongoloid women? --Janggun Dungan (talk) 12:36, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by mongoloid. If it's the racial characteristics you are interested in, we have redlists on many of the countries inhabited by mongoloids, starting with Mongolian women, but also China, Japan, Indonesia, Korea, etc.) and we also have a red list of indigenous women. I see you have been writing about people from Turkmenistan. You will find a redlist here.--Ipigott (talk) 13:45, 12 April 2019 (UTC)
Mongolian women. Aha. Thanks for the tip. I've just found Uisenma Borchu there. Yes, der Himmel hängt mir voller Geigen now, so that it is worth creating an article. As for the meaning of the expression, mongoloid women are those who are slant-eyed, like Anggun, Vanessa Hudgens, Angel Locsin, Hồ Ngọc Hà, Daniele Suzuki, etc. The matter is mongoloid women don't always live in mongoloid countries. For example, Samantha Cerio is slant-eyed, but she lives in USA. Jessalyn Wanlim is slant-eyed, too. And yet she lives in Canada. Puti Kaisar-Mihara lives in Austria, despite her being slant-eyed. Although Monika Leová, Marina Kim and Tatyana Bakalchuk are slant-eyed, they live in Slavic countries. Jen Su lives in Africa which makes it impossible to find this slant-eyed woman in the "WikiProject Women in Red." Who'll search for a mongoloid woman among Negros? So it is an unforgivable omission that the corresponding category under the title "Exotic Women in Red" is presently lacking. --Janggun Dungan (talk) 20:51, 12 April 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexandria Villasenor (Q61748080)

A tag has been placed on Alexandria Villasenor (Q61748080) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

I've moved your article to the correct title, so this is no longer necessary. feminist (talk) 03:59, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

@Feminist: Thanks very much for that - super helpful! - OliverEastwood (talk) 04:07, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

May 2019

Hello. Regarding the recent reverts you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 05:50, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

@JackintheBox: So I should place a tag on the user's talk page after reverting an edit? And what should I do if the edit was made by a non-registered user (i.e. an IP rather than a user)? Thanks very much, and sorry if I've caused any trouble - OliverEastwood talk 05:53, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
No, you haven't caused any trouble at all! Thanks for reverting unconstructive edits on Wikipedia. The above notice was just to inform you that it is recommended to leave a templated message on the talk page of the user who made that edit (whether the user is registered or not). You can do that easily with Twinkle (which I see you are already using). Just go to the user's talk page, move your cursor over TW. From there you would see a drop-down list of things you can do, such as ARV to report a user to ARV, Warn to warn/notify a user, Wel to welcome a user etc. JACKINTHEBOXTALK 09:02, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
@JackintheBox: Figured it out as soon as I sent the message! I'm doing that now - thanks for the pointer! - OliverEastwood talk 09:04, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi Oliver! thanks. i forgot to add a summary, im just deleting fake unsourcered peaks.

Updates / Edits to the Heather Mills page.

Hello Oliver. Firstly, thanks so much for all the hard and diligent work editing and monitoring Wikipedia. Top job.

RE: The revisions to the Heather Mills page you reversed - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heather_Mills - We're acting under legal instruction from Heathers lawyers to remove factually inaccurate / fake news content from the biography. We're happy to provide any supporting legal documentation. Feel free to email pete@usai.uk for further information.

Many thanks -- and keep up the great work, you make Wikipedia a safer place for information.

Ptrainor (talk) 15:29, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

@Ptrainor: Thanks for the info. The issue with this, however, is that editing a Wikipedia article when you have a close connection to the person / topic in question is highly discouraged (see WP:COI). Being under instructions from the subject's lawyers as to what should and should not be in the article is even more highly discouraged. This introduces major neutrality and bias issues to the article - in fact, in your efforts to remove "inaccurate" content from the article may have rendered the article inaccurate and biased. If this style of editing (i.e. under direction from a lawyer) has been happening just recently - either by you or any other editor of this page who has a connection to Ms. Mills - then you should place a notice on the talk page of the article to indicate that you have a close connection to the subject matter (see WP:DCOI). If this has been going on for some time, either by you or other editors under instructions from Ms Mill's lawyers, then the article may have to undergo major revision to ensure neutrality.
The first thing to do is to closely read WP:COI and identify / understand the procedures you should take as an editor with Conflict Of Interest. You may also wish to refer to WP:SPA about single-purpose accounts (which yours seems to be). If you have any questions about this, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page or contact an administrator. - OliverEastwood talk 05:57, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

I / we don’t have a close relationship, we’re acting in a professional capacity. Please email me your contact details and lawyers can be put directly in contact with you.

Fake news is not something that’s good for anybody. There’s no bias in removing false information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrainor (talkcontribs) 11:07, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

@Ptrainor: Please see Wikipedia:No legal threats. "Please email me your contact details and lawyers can be put directly in contact with you" is nothing less than a polite legal threat. Unless it is withdrawn, your account will be immediately blocked from editing Wikipedia, as it violates the terms you agreed to when establishing your account. If you or someone you claim to be your client believes there is inaccurate, libelous or defamatory information about them on Wikipedia, they can follow the procedure described at Wikipedia:Contact us/Article subjects. Norman

Hello, I recently made an edit to Josh Norman's wikipedia page. It was put on his page that he is considered one of the best cornerbacks in football, and I went on to edit that out of the page, but you did restore it. I feel that should be taken out because it is an opinion, and not only is it an opinion, but it's an opinion that is outdated and not widely held in 2019. If you go to Stephon Gilmore or Jalen Ramsey's wikipedia page, they don't have that on their page and those two are considered elite at their position. The sources on Norman's wikipedia page claiming he is considered one of the best cornerbacks in football were from 2016. He's no longer considered to be one of the best by expert analysts, and has even been in discussion from Mike Florio as a player who could be cut from his team due to being overpaid and underperforming. Due to that, I felt I was right to take that out of the wikipedia page. Gresdown367 (talk) 06:46, 25 May 2019 (UTC) Greg

@Gresdown367: Hi there, thanks very much for raising this. Usually these kind of statements are opinions, in which case they should be removed. In this case, however, there was support from several references, and due to your lack of an edit summary, I reverted the edit. However, after reviewing the sources, article and your message, I now understand why you removed the information, and I fully agree with your edit. Sorry for the misunderstanding, and thanks for your efforts to keep the article up to date! - OliverEastwood talk 07:03, 25 May 2019 (UTC) (p.s I'd appreciate if you didn't remove sections from this talk page - just makes it easier for me to keep track of things and resolve issues. Thanks!)

Ma (film)

I did leave a reason why. I asked if your virtue signaling was really necessary. Who the fuck cares that a black woman has the lead role?

@24.102.164.209: In an industry dominated by white actors, many people would see Ma as being extremely notable for having a black female lead, something which breaks the stereotype of horror films only featuring white teenagers/adults. This notability is backed by a reliable source, and I'm sure that other editors would agree that film having a black female lead is a relevant aspect of the article. In future, please discuss changes such as this on talk pages, especially as you are an unregistered user. Thanks! - OliverEastwood talk 05:05, 31 May 2019 (UTC)

Chesterton

My addition to the :"anti-semitism charge" section of the Chesterton entry keeps being removed. It runs as follows:

"Those who do entertain the very serious charge of anti-semitism against Chesterton do seem to studiously avoid the fact of Chesterton's book titled "Eugenics and Other Evils", which was remarkably published as early as 1922. For a considerable time Chesterton was the only voice of any note who unequivocally opposed the eugenics movement that had become popular within Britain and much of Europe. Any discussion of the charge of anti-semitism against Chesterton, that omits the fact that Chesterton published a entire book with such an unambiguous title "Eugenics and Other Evils", is simply not an honest account of the matter, as the whole substance and timing of this work refutes the charge of anti-semitism or racism of any sort."

You have suggested that this entry is not neutral, but there is nothing neutral in even having a section titled "Charge of anti-semitsm", as it is a fabricated charge that was never made in Chesterton's lifetime or even in the decades after his death. Indeed, Chesterton was actually ridiculed and derided (in his lifetime) for opposing the popular eugenics movement, so for any inference to be made that he was an anti-semite is a contradiction of a position to which he devoted an entire book - "Eugenics and Other Evils" - the substance of which refutes the charge of anti-semitism as early as 1922. My addition is perfectly reasonable and completely factual, and provides an informative counter-argument to the suggestion that Chesterton was some sort of anti-semite or racist. The book "Eugenics and Other Evils" must necessarily be included in the section dealing with the charge of anti-semitism. It is unreasonable for this to be ommitted and repeatedly excised. The significance of this work (Eugenics and Other Evils) to the charge of anti-semitism is directly relevant, and should not be put into a separate section. Please restore this entry for factual completeness and balance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.148.164.224 (talk) 11:17, 4 June 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Thomas D. Everett

Hello OliverEastwood. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Thomas D. Everett, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is not a copyvio. Publications of thge U.S. federal government are in the public domain, and the mobilempo page seems to be derived from the dot.gov document. Thank you.
