May 2019 edit

  Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Heather Mills, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. The page contains large amounts of fake, and unsubstantiated claims. The damage this causes is extreme. Edits will be made, or the page should be removed in its entirety if the editors of this website refuse to honour what is real vs. pure fantasy writing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrainor (talkcontribs) 10:30, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

No legal threats edit

Please see Wikipedia:No legal threats. "Please email me your contact details and lawyers can be put directly in contact with you" is nothing less than a polite legal threat. Unless it is withdrawn, your account will be immediately blocked from editing Wikipedia, as it violates the terms you agreed to when establishing your account. If you or someone you claim to be your client believes there is inaccurate, libelous or defamatory information about them on Wikipedia, they can follow the procedure described at Wikipedia:Contact us/Article subjects. General Ization Talk 03:51, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I’m not making a legal threat — I’m suggesting that if you need the motivation to do the ‘right thing’ and remove / honour the removal of fake news / content in order that this site is fit for purpose, then speaking with the lawyers representing the person who is currently being defamed by the content, might be the evidence you require to honour the removal of the large amount of offending content. It would also prevent this from ‘becoming’ a legal matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrainor (talkcontribs) 10:23, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
You have already turned this into a legal matter as I previously explained, and having failed to withdraw the threat when given the opportunity, your account is now blocked from editing. General Ization Talk 15:16, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

“Further information: Wikipedia:Libel A discussion as to whether material is libelous is not a legal threat. Wikipedia's policy on defamation is to delete libelous material as soon as it is identified. If you believe that you are the subject of a libelous statement on Wikipedia, please contact the information team at info-en-q@wikipedia.org.” 👍🏻

You want to play the rules card. That’s cool. We can play the rules card. We’ll be back in contact with the appropriate injunctions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrainor (talkcontribs) 16:54, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

We have not engaged in a "discussion as to whether material is libelous". You have repeatedly proposed that we share information with you for the purpose of being contacted by lawyers. That is a legal threat, whether or not you understand it as such, and our policies are very clear about that. Your comment just above concerning "injunctions" only reinforces the gravity of the violation. General Ization Talk 17:00, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

It’s dealt with. You’ll be contacted soon enjoy your day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ptrainor (talkcontribs) 17:02, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Ptrainor. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. General Ization Talk 04:15, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  5 albert square (talk) 15:09, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
You're not helping matters at all by engaging in sockpuppetry. Would you like me to inform your Twitter followers, with whom you recently commiserated about what an awful place Wikipedia is, that you are acting like a vandal here, instead of following the simple procedures we have documented for you to request the correction of information you think should be corrected? General Ization Talk 20:32, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Yes, you are correct; what you were attempting to do using a sockpuppet was indeed one of the ways of appropriately requesting changes in an article on Wikipedia. However, you are not permitted to set up a new account to evade a block; that is called sockpuppetry and block evasion. It was already explained to you that you could not edit while your legal threats were outstanding. The way to proceed would have been to withdraw those threats, as we had asked that you do, so that this account could be unblocked, and then to use this account to initiate a discussion of the content, not to let your threats stand and set up another account. You really are capable of figuring this sort of thing out for yourself. General Ization Talk 22:06, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
