Welcome edit

Hello Olek. Thanks for your recent contributions to election articles. You may want to "join" WikiProject Elections and Referendums, which (as you may guess by the name) is for editors interested in elections and referendums. Simply add it to your watchlist, and you'll see any relevant discussions.

Also, it may be worth noting that numbers on English Wikipedia should be displayed in English number format – i.e. 6,500 not 6.500. The dot (as used in the second example) is only for decimal places. Cheers, Number 57 12:35, 14 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Data errors edit

Having seen your changes to the percentage calculations, I double-checked my calculations, and they were correct (I was using Excel forumulae) – however, the reason we seem to be getting different figures is that the figures in the table are inconsistent.

The total number of votes in the table (parties, independents and invalid) is 5,207,815, but the total given at the bottom of the table is 5,211,871. I was basing my calculations on the former, and I presume you on the latter?

Either some of the party numbers are wrong, or the overall total is wrong. Any idea which it is? Cheers, Number 57 00:02, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have one idea and right now I will check it. Olek Bokhan (talk) 00:08, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I found the source of mismatch. 4,056 of voters voted during the early voting for candidates that later withdrew from balloting. What do you think how it will be correct to count these votes? Olek Bokhan (talk) 00:16, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
That's a good question. Do the CEC have any formal method of assigning them? If I had to choose, I suppose ultimately they were votes for those parties/independents, so should be included in the relevant totals? Number 57 00:19, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
The CEC count them separately, they put it like a column in the table near the columns "Against all" and "Invalid votes". So what will we do? Count these votes as votes for parties/independents? I can easily change number of votes for 2 parties and independentsOlek Bokhan (talk) 00:36, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
I guess either that or (a) add them to the invalid votes (as ultimately they weren't counted – this counld be noted at the bottom) or have a whole separate row for them (again, not included in the percentages). What do you think? Number 57 00:45, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
This votes de facto were taken as invalid, so add them to invalid row. Olek Bokhan (talk) 00:50, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
One more remark about CEC method. They calculate percents for candidates in each constituency with taking into account invalid votes and for withdrawn candidates, as well as votes against all. Olek Bokhan (talk) 01:05, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Belarussian election result edit

What is your source for the info on party distribution on the Belarussian election? Another user has challenged the veracity of it.--Batmacumba (talk) 06:14, 10 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
