Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. The good news is that fewer than 5% of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that 95% of the articles can use your help right now!— xaosflux Talk 03:21, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

NPOV and promotion

edit

Hello Ohare415. While your contributions are appreciated, please ensure that you understand our requirement of neutrality. Articles must be written in a way that is strictly neutral in both tone and content, and must never promote anyone or anything, including by "talking up". Material such as "...the powerful walk, edgy yet feminine designs, avant-guard, pronounced pouts, heavy smudged eyeliner, and creating captivating atmosphere for it's audience became brand ideals.", "She became internationally known for her urban, powerful, romantic, innovative, and commanding designs.", and "Finding beauty in the overlooked is the most important style and identity of Nina Cuso." is not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. Going forward, please ensure to write in a neutral, not breathless and promotional, tone. Seraphimblade Talk to me 15:24, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Interviews not acceptable as citations

edit

Concerning what is at the moment reference #1 and #10 in the Nina Cuso article:

1. The link in the reference is to the wrong Greg Bernard YouTube clip. What you meant to use is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnjLiL-orLY

2. An interview with the subject of a Wikipedia article is not acceptable as a source of content for the article, nor as a reference. Any content about a person has to be based on published work by an independent source.

I strongly suggest that you remove all content that stems from that interview and also delete the interview as a reference. David notMD (talk) 01:03, 10 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Final warning

edit

I hoped that asking nicely would help, but apparently it did not, even after you've now been counseled by several people. So let's be a little clearer.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising.

Don't use positive pull quotes. Fluff doesn't become not-fluff because it's wrapped in quotation marks. Stick to facts only. Not a bunch of fluff about people's impressions of her, positioned in the middle of a sentence as a fact in a pull quote. If you need some time to figure it out, move it back to draft and use articles for creation. But if you put spam in the article once again, you'll get blocked. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:34, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

All I have done is ask questions and try to get the right information out there. We should be helping eachother. Wikipedia is in enough trouble of not having enough people on here. It is a community. :(

Why? I legit was just adding useful information. Also, my IP address can have more than one person using one computer.

We can do without sockpuppeteers, thank you, as the preferred number of those on Wikipedia is zero. Sockpuppeting (or meatpuppeting, if you insist that four people were using your computer) is an abuse of the community. And what you're doing looks an awful lot like undisclosed paid promotion, and this isn't the first time I've run across that either. That is also an abuse of the community. But socking, especially with that many accounts, is pretty much a "one and done" offense, especially when combined with spamming. Of course, if you still disagree, the instructions for filing an appeal are in the block message above. Seraphimblade Talk to me 02:50, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

No I just like legit am a fan. I will learn more about the wiki rules and willnot write anymroe about her.. But those are facts about her. I worked really hard on it and there are many many articles about her. It is not pormotion it is facts.

Please don't take it down because I don't know I am doing! It is follwing al the guidlines. And it would be a shame to see it go just because I screwed up. Please correct this error. It isn't paid and I really like her work. I got to fashion school I am not a wikiepdia writer!

Trust me if I was paid I would know what to do in this situation.

The article still exists, and will remain unless someone starts a deletion process. What changed is that you (and Andredoone) are blocked from editing this or any other articles. David notMD (talk) 03:00, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

FML my roommate and got on my lapptop and we were trying to get this page up! so stupid. Okay. What does it mean that the page will be maintenced? will it be taken down. ugh I feel so bad. I just wanted to write an accurate page about her. I don't know her and I wish I did. lol but I would hate to be the cause of this.

I wont write anymore. I'll try to learn more and then circle back and try to get the block lifted once I get used to this whole wikiepdia thing. It's really hard. But at least the right info is up about her.

Again, article exists. Other people can edit, just not you. Or Andredoone. David notMD (talk) 03:45, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

My roommate and other girls at the dorm wanted to chip in for this article. We don’t all have laptops so we used mine. I take full responsibility. I reached out for help from the users on Wikipedia and I got a lot of issues from it. I really did want to learn what I was supposed to write. And she has so many articles and read other Wikipedia pages that had similar ways of writing so I didn’t know it would be such an issue. I really wanted to contribute. I made my first article Nina’s article because I relate to her so much. She went through so much and went so far. I got to fashion school and my professor told us about her a long time ago. And I noticed she didn’t have an article. I’m upset because I really just wanted to put as much good information out there. I am not paid and I do not know Nina Cuso. Though I hope to meet her one day! I don’t think it’s fair to have put me as puppiteerig? Or promoting or whatever they said I did and my roommates username. I was very clear that I didn’t know what I was doing and I was really a fan and it came out wrong. And I did ask for advice. And apologized when I was confused. My friends and I all just used the same laptop in class and in my dorm room. Which should be ok. I will not post anything without taking about it first. And I hope we can all do some good work on here as a community. Thanks and I hope you reconsider my blocking

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 05:11, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Ok :(

Is there at least enough sources and when will the template come off? I applied for an appeal. I really am sorry. I didn’t know I was doing things wrong. And if you have any advice please let me know. Wikipedia is really hard! And I don’t want to not be apart of the community and there are other designers I want to add too. I don’t want this to happen again. Also, it would suck if she saw that I had her page all messed up. Ugh I’m so stupid!!! Ohare415 (talk) 03:50, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

I want to be apart of the community *** Ohare415 (talk) 03:51, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

There’s just not enough information on Wikipedia about this kind of stuff. Like details that make sense for people like me Ohare415 (talk) 03:52, 11 June 2018 (UTC) Is the page at least correct now? David, I am happy you made correct edits. You should check out Josh Goot page as well? The Page is being deleted and that's not okay. Please help!Reply

I have no knowledge of what are appropriate references for the fashion industry. Perhaps your professor can weigh in on the proposed deletion, although even if that is reversed, the article could be nominated for the more formal AfD (Article for Deletion). David notMD (talk) 04:28, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

David, can you please help me with all of this. She has so much written about her work. Like 30 sources. Do you mind help? I don't want to have it deleted just cause I wrote it wrong...I'm a college student not a writer. :(

Again, I am completely unfamiliar with the fashion industry, or what might count as valid referencing. Ask faculty at your school for help. David notMD (talk) 10:15, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Comment For someone who claims to be new at Wikipedia, you and your "friends" figured out how to game WP:AUTOCONFIRM pretty quickly (pointless wikilinks on Draft:Naturex, pretending to fix grammar while actually breaking it, breaking links and then immediately fixing them, etc.) The subject does not have depth of coverage to meet WP:BIO notability. If the prod is challenged, the article will be sent to AfD. OhNoitsJamie Talk 13:26, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
