Hypersudoku edit

Thanks a lot for providing a link for me to follow from the Hypersudoku talk page. Here it explains that while vanilla Sudoku needs 17 given numbers, HS can get by with about 12, which is really cool. It's a good article. Myles325a (talk) 07:33, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Handball articles edit

I've noticed that you have created or edited a lot of handball articles and biographies. Thank you! Your hard work is greatly appreciated. --Aikurn (talk) 21:41, 15 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have also noticed your valuable contributions to handball articles. You are doing a great job! My focus has mainly been on creating new articles, mostly short stubs with some basic facts and a few references. Some of these articles have later been expanded and improved by others. Liisa Veijalainen edit

Hi! Q about birthdate of Liisa Veijalainen. Where did you find 04/03/1951? In her book "Rastilta Rastille. Liisa Veijalainen" I found 04/04/1951.

--Dnikitin (talk) 22:24, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I can not remember now where I found it. Since I do not have book source on her birthday, it might just be a misreading or a wrong translation from an online source. Thanks for finding this. I changed the date in the article in accordance with your findings. Oceanh (talk) 23:11, 22 January 2009 (UTC).Reply

Norwegian Women's Footballers edit

Hello there! Good work on establishing articles for several of Norway's women's footballers. Pretty much everything I've done on Wikipedia has been on Norway's women soccer players, so you'll probably see me editing/expanding your articles quite a bit in the upcoming weeks. If you ever have any questions, or take issue with something I've done, feel free to smack me around a bit on my talk page. =)

Ragnhild16 (talk) 05:39, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for appreciating the articles on Norwegian female fotball players. The focus is mostly on their international career and achievements, so they are all very short starters. It will be great if you expand and improve the articles! Oceanh (talk) 19:17, 6 February 2009 (UTC).Reply

Hmm edit

The title "Bentein Baardson, Knight First Class, Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav" is way too long - I reckon it affects readability. Either we find an abbreviation, or we should consider not stating his order in the lead at all. Punkmorten (talk) 16:49, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Agree, think it can just be removed from the lead, as the honour is mentioned later. I used the article Ole Gunnar Solskjær as a model, but the way it is presented there seems to be an exception. Oceanh (talk) 17:06, 15 March 2009 (UTC).Reply

Note edit

Thanks for fixing the link at Jon Hol. Hadn't thought of that. Punkmorten (talk) 19:47, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

By the way I noticed that AlbertHerring created a slew of articles with translation tags. These translation tags are unpreferable, since there's no reason why we would want to translate unsourced material. The article list seems to be a bullseye compared to your interests, though. This is it:

Punkmorten (talk) 19:47, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the list of new literary biography stubs. They were the remaining "redlinks" from the list of recipients of the Riksmål Society Literature Prize. Some of these, but not all, have biographies in "NBL", and are therefore probably straightforward to expand up to "Start" level. I do not have capacity to expand every stub that others create, so I have to select just a few at a time from a huge set of candidates.
Thank you for expanding Francis Bull! (I also have a few book sources on him, such as various books on literary history, on Nationaltheatret, and "Griniboken", but lack relevant books on Gyldendal and NRK, and other obvious sources. Might add some more details later.) Oceanh (talk) 23:21, 7 April 2009 (UTC).Reply
My pleasure. By the way, when adding FB's notable family, I overlooked this guy. Then afterwards it turns out that he too was notable. I love it when that happens. On another note, unfortunately the public library is closed in the Easter. Otherwise I'd delve into NBL 1. Punkmorten (talk) 10:16, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Great. I guess genealogy might be within your field of interest – note that Theodor Bull wrote a biography (1949) of his great-great-grandfather Johan Randulf Bull (1749-1829). Oceanh (talk) 13:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC).Reply

Edda; good stub, but shouldn't the title be "Nordic" Journal... instead of "Scandinavian"? Punkmorten (talk) 09:45, 11 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

The subtitle "Scandinavian Journal of Literary Research" is taken from the magazine itself, as their own translation, printed on Edda´s inside cover page. Have checked back to 1992, and the magazine's English version of the term "Nordisk tidsskrift for litteraturforskning" has been stable and consistent during this period. (According to my dictionaries, the interpretation of the term "Scandinavian" may also include Danish, Finnish and Icelandish, in addition to the more strictly Swedish and Norwegian). Johanna Asklöf and Tiira edit

They are both same person. Johanna Asklöf's maiden name is Johanna Tiira. Can you merged them, please? --Unara (talk) 08:48, 18 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Merged the two articles, by moving content from Johanna Tiira into Johanna Asklöf, and redirecting Johanna Tiira to Johanna Asklöf. Links in edit summaries should document the merge. The wording of moved text is kept as original, but rearranged into chronological order in the text, and medal table is also sorted in a standard way.

Hi there, and thanks for approving my hook. Seeing how you are extremely prolific, I was wondering if you would consider making an article on Pål Bang-Hansen? He seems like a very interesting characterperson. decltype (talk) 15:58, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

While recently working on theatre articles, I created biographies on some theatre directors, one of which was Kjetil Bang-Hansen, brother of Pål Bang-Hansen. So I wrote a short biography on him. There is plenty more to add to that biograhy, so I hope somebody will expand on the article. Congratulations with the nice album article Quiet Exit! And thanks for vetting the hook on Johanne Dybwad. Raymond Steed edit

Hi there. I just noticed that you have moved Raymond Steed into a DYK queue and I wondered if you could delete it instead. I don't want this to sound like sour grapes, but I'm really disappointed it has been listed for DYK without the picture. He was the youngest British person to die while fighting for his country in World War Two (aged 14), and the picture really brought home the tragedy of this fact. Is it possible to pull this from the DYK queue, as I would rather it didn't go in at all without the photo?-- Myosotis Scorpioides 20:50, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I moved the entry back from the queue to the nomination page, so it can be re-added to the queue later, hopefully with the picture included. Good job with that article! Oceanh (talk) 22:14, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the approval (And for the compliment on the article!) Very glad that you liked it. It was a pleasure to work on, since I love the song. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:44, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It was a pleasure to read the article, both the recording history and the reception part. Also very well referenced. I do not know the song, even if I might have heard it on radio for all I know. Musically I prefer Charles' piano style rather than Joel's, but that is a matter of taste, as they are both excellent piano players. Oceanh (talk) 09:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The redlink in your signature is a bit unsightly, and it probably gives people the wrong idea. Perhaps you would consider redirecting it to your talk page? I would also recommend archiving your user talk. Just a thought. — Jake Wartenberg 21:01, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is usually a sign of somebody who does not know how wikipedia works in many users thoughts about such things - even a blank page is better than a red user page. SatuSuro 12:46, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for expressing your concerns. I do not share the worries. Articles edit

Good work on Jan Martin Larsen! I hadn't even though of a DYK there. My encyclopedia also says that he was "the father of turorientering in Norway" - any idea how to say that in English? Punkmorten (talk) 21:53, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, and thank you for creating the article. You are right about Larsen being the "father of turorientering" (Asker Skiklubb's Askeladden in 1966). I have tried to find a good English word for "turorientering" earlier, but without success. The wikipedia article control point (orienteering) mentions "Permanent courses, with their permanent control points, are used primarily for training and recreation", but the concept turorientering is wider and different from permanent course. Oceanh (talk) 00:40, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I sent Grini to DYK. Without your expansion it wouldn't have made it—again (thanks for T. Tu also). I looked forward to checking Budstikkas store Asker og Bærum-leksikon on Grini, but it turned out it was almost a word-for-word copy of Store norske (same publishing house). Punkmorten (talk) 21:18, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Good! My problem is not actually lack of material, rather the opposite. The two-volume set Griniboken I-II has more than 1000 pages, with more than forty contributors, and excellenty illustrated with photos and drawings. Nansen's printed diaries have about 600 pages from Grini (including a month travel to Kvenangen), although the diaries from his "disgrace" period, when he was in Haft and in Fallskjermen and the transport to Sachsenhausen, were lost. It should be possible to expand the Grini article, with sections or material on things such as the infrastructure of the camp, the staff, the daily routines, the treatment of prisoners, various undercover activities, and selected significant incidents occuring over the years. But it is time consuming both to read, and to figure out what exactly to extract, given the time span and the dynamic nature of the material. Oceanh (talk) 07:19, 4 June 2009 (UTC).Reply

WWII intelligence edit

Bjørn Rørholt

Thanks for helping with the articles Skylark B and Rørholt. I included Rørholt in my mass nom, hope that's no problem. You beat me to him, really, to I spared that effort, haha. But he was next "in line" after Haakon Sørbye, so I have lots of sources. I'll add them, but perhaps not before Monday because of RL. Punkmorten (talk) 22:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's fine. It seems that we have access to different sources, as you have included many newspaper articles, while I used mainly book sources, in addition to the encyclopedias. (Recently bought Ulstein's three-volume set on the intelligence service in Norway 1940-1945). Oceanh (talk) 23:10, 26 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Per Jacobsen

Is Per Jacobsen mentioned in your book? If not, there might not be enough grounds for an article on him after all. I use www.retriever.no, but it's difficult to search for his name there (common name). Punkmorten (talk) 18:14, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I found brief mention of Per Jacobsen in Knut Haukelid's Det demrer en dag (1947), in Max Manus' books Det vil helst gå godt (1945) and Mitt liv (1985), and in Griniboken 2 (1947). His role in the radio group Skylark A is probably mentioned in Sverre Midtskau's book London svarer ikke, but I do not have that one. I could not find Jacobsen in the indexes of Ulstein's books on the intelligence service. He is listed and mentioned in Kristian Ottosen's book Natt og tåke. Also note that he was the Norwegian champion in figure skating in 1931 and 1932. Oceanh (talk) 22:13, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Cool, thank you. Punkmorten (talk) 16:29, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Theta

Hi again. Do your books say anything about Theta (radio in Bergen 1941-42)? The reason I'm asking is that Kristian Ottosen once wrote: "I midten av oktober [1942] satte tyske myndigheter i gang en storstilt razzia på Bryggen i Bergen, med det resultat at Thetas hovedkvarter ble oppdaget. Dermed var Theta-gruppens virksomhet over". Whereas Jens Chr. So, the question is: when and how was Theta discontinued..? Punkmorten (talk) 13:39, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Ulstein's books contain several pages with information about "Theta", mixed with other things. I tried to extract some of this into a separate article, "Theta". The section End of operation might partly answer your question on when and how Theta was discontinued. The Abwehr agent did not infiltrate the Theta group directly, but he was a friend and colleague of the contact Johan Hellem, also a captain in the navy, that supplied information. Hellem was warned by Ottosen, but he could not believe that what he heard was true, as he had known his fellow captain for years. When Ottosen was arrested by Gestapo, they also aquired a few compromizing things at his home, such as a book on telegraphy, a pile of maps, and a list of courier post. Ottosen (cover name "Bud") was the contact between "Theta" and the so-called "Larssen group", but Ottosen never met Jan Dahm, and he never was at the secret room ("Kafeen") at Bryggen. His contact was Wenche Stenersen (cover name "Berg"), who coded the messages in cooperation with Dahm, while the final receiver was the telegraphist Jacob Landsvik (cover name "Andersen") who operated the radio. After Ottosen's arrest in June 1942, his nearest contact Wenche Stenersen was brought to Sweden. Other group members stayed in Bergen, but halted their operations. Oceanh (talk) 01:35, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
OK, thanks. So it seems that the October 1942 raid was more of a general raid, not meant to unveil the secret room as such. Punkmorten (talk) 11:36, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Here is a book about the group written by Kristian Ottosen. Rettetast (talk) 20:58, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Right. Ottosen's book Theta Theta also contains more details on the 1942 raid at Bryggen, including translation of a German report from the raid. Oceanh (talk) 21:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
RMO

Supposedly Ulstein's book contains information about the group RMO (Norwegian resistance). I couldn't find much info about them. Geschichte (talk) 12:46, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, you are right. I started an article on RMO, and included references to Ulstein's books. Oceanh (talk) 21:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good! Now we just need to figure out what the letters RMO stand for... Geschichte (talk) 15:11, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
In Ulstein's books RMO is introduced as "(...) R.M.O. - Den sjømilitære etterretningstjenesten - ", so trying to interprete the letters will only be guesswork from my side. Oceanh (talk) 20:25, 12 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Question edit

Hi again! Våre falne says of Olav Ringdal that he "ledet opplysningstjenesten". From the text I'd guess that this was an entity within Milorg, but do you have any idea what it really was? Thanks, Geschichte (talk) 07:24, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ringdal was a central person of the propaganda organization Derby. He cooperated with Max Manus during the planning phase, when it was reorganized after the death of Gregers Gram, and was one of five leaders of the organization (labeled "D.4") under Manus' command. He also chaired the organization (together with Lauring) while Manus was absent. According to Manus, 490 persons were working for Derby in March 1945. (ref: Max Manus (1946), Det blir alvor, page 121). In addition to the editing of Fritt Land, Derby distributed the bi-weekly magazine Håndslag from Sweden and the monthly magazine Det frie Norge from the Norwegian government in London, and propaganda posters and fliers directed towards German soldiers. I don't know about any (other) entity within Milorg that refers to "opplysningstjenesten". Oceanh (talk) 18:30, 28 August 2009 (UTC).Reply
Operation Derby deserves an article someday. Geschichte (talk) 11:09, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi again! Do you have any sources on Reidar Selmer? I believe he was notable as the defender of Henry Rinnan, but I can't find anything about him. Should be covered somewhere though. Geschichte (talk) 11:09, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I looked through my collection of books, but could not find anything on Reidar Selmer. (I do not have much on the trials after the war, though. Looked through John Lyng and Per Hansson's books about Rinnan, but did not spot Selmer's name there.) A brief mention in the NBL biograpy of Andreas Claussen presents Selmer as Claussen's companion, and later defender of Henry Rinnan, as you probably are aware of. Oceanh (talk) 00:01, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I wikilinked his name at Andreas Claussen because he sounded notable. And this week he "appeared" again as a petitioner for Landsforbundet for folkeavstemning. I'll try more sources. State of Norway (1942-1945) edit

Hi Oceanh. Could you help out over at State of Norway (1942-1945) (more popularly known as the "Quisling Regime")? I think we need to clean it up, fix the facts and put it into context. Manxruler (talk) 17:59, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Will see what I can do. Agree that the article needs cleanup. For instance, note that "Adiministrasjonsrådet" was effective from 15 April to 25 September 1940, replacing the first Quisling "government", while this article seems to cover the period from 1 February 1942 to 1945.
(I am not really an expert on this, but have access to a few relevant sources.) Oceanh (talk) 00:02, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi again. Your contributions, with the sources you have access to, are much appreciated. On a further note, I'm having a slight problem with this whole "State of Norway/Norges Rike" thing. When I googled "Norges Rike" Quisling all I got were the two English language sources (reliable?) that were originally used by the article creator. "State of Norway"+Quisling gives me pretty much just wikis. I would have thought that the search would have brought up some Norwegian results. Somewhat odd. Manxruler (talk) 00:22, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree with your concerns about the name. Need more time to sort things out... Oceanh (talk) 06:42, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good, good. I'll do some research too, got some books I think might be relevant over at work. Great work on Oslogjengen, btw. Looking forward to the DYK nom on that. Manxruler (talk) 07:15, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
My most detailed source on 1942 seems to be Norge i krig, volume 4 (written by Berit Nøkleby). Chapter 1 "Statsakten" and chapter 2 "Quisling i statsråd" give details on the "ceremony", the "ministers", the first "laws", etc. Two of the early laws of the Quisling regime, Lov om nasjonal ungdomstjeneste and Lov om Norges Lærersamband, both signed 5 February 1942, led to serious clashes between the regime and parents and teachers (massive arrests), and an escalating conflict with the church. Later in 1942 came the arrest and deportation of jews to German extermination camps.
I am still worried about the article's claim of "official name", how can the English "State of Norway" be official? I could find no sources on the name issue, except that the country is still normally called "Norge" in newspapers and elsewhere, including the nazified newspapers. Should the article rather be called something like "Quisling regime", or "Quisling cabinet 1942-1945"? The "Creation" section is at the moment a bit confusing and needs to be improved. I also find it a bit hard to include sourced facts to the article, because of the structure and current focus. Oceanh (talk) 22:37, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Me feelings exactly. I got hold of volume 4 too and have been looking through it a bit. The English name can't be official, seeing as NS would never have used English as an official language, and I have also failed at finding the name "Norges Rike" in this context. I think a move to one of the two alternatives you suggested is the most wise path, as this isn't about a new country, but rather about a (pretty powerless) regime/government. The English sources should probalby be replaced with better ones, most likely Norwegian. Manxruler (talk) 01:09, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
The "Creation" section is much better after your improvements. I just added a few things to the article. Fine that you have access the same source as I listed above. Other relevant books in my possession are Willy Brandt, Krigen i Norge II and A. Hemming-Sjöberg, Domen över Quisling. On the treatment of teachers I can mention Olav Hoprekstad, Frå lærarstriden, Sverre S. Amundsen (ed.), Kirkenesferda 1942, and the recent Motstandskampen i skolene 1940-1942. On the clash with the church there is Ingvald B. Carlsen, Kirkefronten i Norge, and Arne Fjellbu, Minner fra krigsårene.
Glad you liked the article on "Oslogjengen", thanks for the compliment! Oceanh (talk) 20:39, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good work, the article's steadily getting better. I have reached the conclusion that the name of the article is just plain wrong and based on a single messy-looking source, and needs to be changed, to one of the two suggestion you made above. With regards to Brandt's book, I've heard good things. Brandt was in Sweden during the war and in close contact with the Norwegian authorities in exile. Yes, we need to include things like the teacher issue, and the fate of the Jews, and the Quisling regime's involvement in that. I'll keep working that article with the sources I've got, found a few more today. Compliments regarding "Oslogjengen" and other resistance groups are well deserved, we had a visible gap on that front until you came along, starting with the "Osvald Group" and going from there. Well done indeed. Manxruler (talk) 21:05, 17 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Still working on the article, much better now. I've moved the article to the government real official name "Nasjonale regjering", although I suspect that it really belongs at "Quisling regime", per WP:COMMONNAME. Manxruler (talk) 00:00, 18 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good solution. The article is in a much better state now, and I also support your next move proposition. Added a few details on the conflict with the teachers. Agree that the regime's role in the fate of the Jews should be included. Also the authoritarian and intolerant nature of the regime ought to be clearly stated, with reference to laws and actions. Oceanh (talk) 11:10, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Good suggestions. The edits you just made brought up a couple of points I hadn't yet considered. Also, in my next few edits I intend to introduce some info on the 9 April coup and the kommissariske statsråder-period. Manxruler (talk) 11:37, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
If you support the move to "Quisling regime", considering that we'll include the pre-government events, then I think it would be a good idea to state that view over at Talk:Nasjonale regjering (1942-1945), to help ensure that the move goes through. Manxruler (talk) 13:02, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Did a bit more on the 1940 coup. It still needs more work, though. Both on the coup, the nature and actions of the regime, kommissariske statsråder etc. I am however taking a long wiki-break. Got some real-world work that needs doing. Cheers. Manxruler (talk) 03:10, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Again you have done fine improvements to the article over the weekend. God job. Enjoy your wikibreak. Personally I try not to do too much on wiki, simply to avoid burnout, and frequently take shorter breaks (for instance I was completely away most of this weekend). Cheers. Oceanh (talk) 20:20, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

I started the Quisling regime article (or should I say "bad stub") and had been planning to fix it and check the facts, especially since I had some doubts about the official name, but Manxruler was faster than I (and he did much better than I would have done, too :) ). Too bad that he has taken a wikibreak, but since you are interested, I figured I might ask for your opinion. I have been talking with him here about the regime's official name, and sources indicate that the state seal "Norwegian state" (not "State of Norway", apparently : shame on me for relying on only one source) was indeed used, though the regime was far more widely known as "National government". Apparently, the full name was "Norges nasjonal regjering" or "Norsk nasjonal regjering". I have been talking with him about the opportunity of using an infobox. IMHO, it wouldn't do any harm, especially since the Quisling regime clearly saw itself as something distinct from the monarchy, hence the state seal (they just didn't have the time to define exactly what they were, a little like the French State). What do you think ? Best, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 08:49, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I might have to come back to this later. I am not an expert on the questions you rise, while I do have access to a few sources, including the Norwegian versions of the books by Høidal and Dahl mentioned in your discussions. My only comment is that an article like this should be based purely on relevant sources, presenting facts, analysis and possibly diverging views by historians. And - there is still room for improvement (see the discussion above). Oceanh (talk) 00:00, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi. No problem at all, I'm trying to be cautious myself, especially after getting carried away a bit when I started the article. One important thing IMHO would be to check the exact norwegian name of the state seal in the book you have access to. I'll see what you find. Thanks, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 07:55, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Not sure if I quite understand this question, and certainly not its "importance". The quotation in the current version of the article, of the inscription of the seal, is cited and taken verbatim from Dahl's book (page 285). I have not been able to double check from other sources, such as facsimiles of original documents. Oceanh (talk) 22:42, 27 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dab pages edit

Hi Oceanh. I moved the dab page you moved back to where it was: Martin Johansson. If you feel one of the articles is a primary topic, you can propose a multimove on WP:RM to move the dab page away from the ambiguous base name and move the primary topic article to the base name. --Una Smith (talk) 01:17, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! That is fine with me. There should be a redirect either one way or the other, as there still is now.
You might have noticed that I created a stub on Martin Johansson (orienteering). Should have created that stub long ago, but postponed it because I could not find his year of birth (which ideally should be in the article name for proper disambiguation, but the article can be renamed later). Now somebody also moved the "orienteering b. 1984" article, which I think complicates and confuses. I suggest the move of "Martin Johansson (orienteering b. 1984)" to "Martin Johansson (orienteer)" ought to be reverted, to better comply with naming policy. Oceanh (talk) 07:01, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
We could dab them with "WOC 1991" and "WOC 2007". --Una Smith (talk) 14:13, 15 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think the standard way to dab bios is using birth year when this is known, so we should probably keep "b. 1984". Not sure what is recommended when YOB is unknown. Along your line of suggestion, I think "woc 1991 medalist" is more specific, to prevent wild guesses from "champion" to "participant" to "no clue what woc means". Stokkavatnet edit

Hi! I nominated Stokkavatnet for DYK. But could you add a sentence about the lake to the article Stavanger Airport, Forus? I would but I don't have the book/source. Geschichte (talk) 09:35, 18 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks for the dyk nomination of Stokkavatnet! I added a sentence about the lake in the airport article. Also corrected runway length and added a few citation tags there, as the article was completely unsourced. I do not have any particular knowlegde or sources on technical aspects of airports, nor on German or Norwegian military air force, and have to leave sourcing of those aspects in the article to other editors. Board members, Nationaltheatret, 1941 edit

Hi! It seems that Anton Wilhelm Brøgger (archaeologist) was also one of the arrested board members of Nationaltheatret in 1941. I added the book (used in the article Johannes Sejersted Bødtker) as a source, but is Brøgger mentioned there? Geschichte (talk) 16:54, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Brøgger is not mentioned in Rønneberg's book Nationaltheatret gjennom femti år (in this context), when three of the board members plus Heyerdahl were arrested 26 June 1941. (The two board members from the state and Oslo municipality had already been replaced by ns supporters). The board had five ordinary members, and Brøgger is not listed among them. According to Seip (ref. Didrik Arup Seip's book Hjemme og i fiendeland (1946)), Brøgger was first suppleant to the board, was arrested two days later, on 28 June, and released after a few days. Oceanh (talk) 00:32, 26 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Could I request that you add the Seip mention to the article some time? Thanks in advance, Geschichte (talk) 13:51, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have added some to the biography, including the Seip reference, and also a few things from other sources. You might like to polish the article, for instance restructuring to break up the large "career" section. Oceanh (talk) 07:05, 2 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Photos from the National Library edit

Hi Oceanh. I don't know if you already know this or not, but the National Library of Norway has a huge data base of old PD photos. This should be very useful, for you, as you are contributing lovely articles on theatre-related things.

For example I found a very fun photo of Lalla Carlsen by searching their data base, and one of Halfdan Christensen too. Just have a look at how I did it when uploading the photos, that should show you of how to do it with regards to attribution and such. I see you already have an account at Commons (assuming that the Oceanh over there is you). Keep up the grand work. Cheers. Manxruler (talk) 23:03, 1 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
