Requesting clarification on removal of the image File:Honnêamise World Map.jpg from Template:Topics related to Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise.

Dear Nthep, can you please clarify the removal of the image File:Honnêamise World Map.jpg from Template:Topics related to Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise. The restrictions on location read that "Non-free content is allowed only in articles" but prior to the image's removal it was used in two articles: Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise and Academic analysis of themes in Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise. Thank you for your assistance. Iura Solntse (talk) 17:47, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

@Iura Solntse As has already been discussed at WP:MCQ, non-free images are not allowed in templates, only in articles (WP:NFCC#9). The image was not included in either of those articles directly but only via the template. That's not legitimate use of the image. Nthep (talk) 18:22, 17 July 2023 (UTC)

Women's biographies

Hi there, Nthep, and thanks for recently creating a number of biographies of women. If you intend to continue along these lines, you might find it useful to become a member of WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to chip away at the gender gap. You can sign up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. It would be useful for us to have one more administrator associated with the project. In any case, I look forward to more biographies of women in sport. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 09:54, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Edit filter

Hi Nthep! Hi 2kyeinc! I wanted to apologize to both of you for the delay with getting back to you about the filter hit and the report that was filed here. If the concern is about edit filter 53, it's programmed to find key words and phrases that LTA users and trolls use to damage Wikipedia. It only tags the edit and reports it; it does not block any actions or interfere in any way. To quote Star Wars, "you can go about your business". :-) If you'd like me to look at the other filters that stepped in, please let me know. I'll be happy to take a look under the hood for you. :-D Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:59, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

cheers. Nthep (talk) 14:08, 20 July 2023 (UTC)

Content unhiding

Hi Nthep. Did you mean to unhide the content at Special:Diff/1167780775, or was this a hidden-log-conflict of you and AzaToth revdelling at the same time but picking different things? Just double-checking since if I re-revdel right now, that'd technically be a wheel war. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:30, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

@Tamzin I just intended to hide the edit summary, the edit content I didn't think met RD2, distasteful as it is. Nthep (talk) 21:38, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Given that AzaToth did feel it met RD2, with which I agree (or I'd say more RD3, but same difference), would you object to me instating the content revdel? -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:40, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
@Tamzin not in the slightest. Nthep (talk) 21:42, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Great! Thanks :) -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 21:45, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
I saw it as a clear RD2, even an RD3 AzaToth 21:41, 29 July 2023 (UTC)

Giovanni Battista de Luca

Hi @Nthep, I saw your decline. Are you sure it's PD? I don't see it saying that anywhere. Nobody (talk) 12:28, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

the original publication is 19th century. The 1910 version is available online [1] a modern reprint doesn't create a new copyright (except in some cases of the typography). Nthep (talk) 12:34, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
I see. I wasn't sure if reprints like e-books etc. created a new copyright. Thanks Nobody (talk) 12:36, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

Chartwell Retirement Residences

Really sorry, I must have included the incorrect diff on the request. [2] The text starting 'Chartwell Retirement Residences is in the business of serving and caring for...', it is from the Chartwell site. Knitsey (talk) 18:01, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

@Knitsey Ok, but can I ask that in future you consider just removing the bits that are copyvios rather than the entire edit. The 2022 financial information looks to be ok and more relevant than the figures from 5 years ago, even though it was from a WP:PRIMARYSOURCE. Nthep (talk) 18:12, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
I will take more care in future, sorry about that. Knitsey (talk) 18:13, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
@Knitsey no need to apologise, we've all done it (and probably will do so again in the future). Nthep (talk) 18:15, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
I couldn't even find the diff number to start with lol. It's not been a good day today, I put it down to my age. Knitsey (talk) 18:20, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
@Knitsey it's ok, I've sorted it. Nthep (talk) 20:00, 15 August 2023 (UTC)

Wet Woman in the Wind

Hello Nthep, I hope you're doing well. I have added content from Yuki Mamiya for the Production and Reception section. But I missed Earwig copyright check see copyvio stats 1, 2 and 3. The information published in celebsage is difficult to Verify, where it came first either in Yuki Mamiya article or in celebsage. So as per Wikipedia:Precautionary principle, I have requested copyvio revdel but you declined it. Hope to get a positive response. Thanks for your consideration. C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 14:51, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

@C1K98V celebsage is an aggregator of content from elsewhere. It's likely that celebsage is a copyvio of the WP content, not the other way round. Besides that, the quotes in the reception section are acceptable as they are not extensive and are sourced to their original publications.
Precautionary principle is an essay, not policy and even if it were policy; there is not, imo, a significant doubt about the freedom of the content. Nthep (talk) 15:13, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
Nthep yes I am aware that Precautionary principle is not policy but an essay. I honestly missed checking the Earwig copyright detector tool on Yuki Mamiya or else I wouldn't copied content into Wet Woman in the Wind. As the revdel request was denied, So I want clarity on it and to make sure that I didn't violate copyright. And going forward I won't add content like this. Thanks C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 16:24, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
@C1K98V best practice for copying within Wikipedia is covered at WP:CWW. You did the main thing and attributed the page you copied from, Yuki Mamiya, the only thing you might (and it's only minor) would have been to include in the edit summary a link to either the revision of Yuki Mamiya you copied from or a link to the page history of Yuki Mamiya.
I think you might be missing my point about the Earwig results, celebsage did not generate the content, they copied it from Wikipedia. The copyvio is by celebsage not of celebsage. There are numerous sites like this that rip-off copy from all sorts of sources and aggregate it without any attribution of the sources. The content written at Yuki Mamiya in 2018 is the original and it's use in Wet Women is entirely fine as long as attributed. Nthep (talk) 16:59, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
Yes I'm aware of this. It just that I can't afford another copyvio mistake. So if in doubt it's better to ask and revise your knowledge and understanding. Thanks for your suggestion C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 17:07, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
