Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters, WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (up from 16,104 last month to 16,176 on 29 September 2020). In the area of GAs WP:YORKS at 182 is ahead of WP:GM who have 89. WP:GM has the lead in FAs at 68 out of a total number of 4,538 articles.
Currently we have fifty six Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.
Unreliable sources
Just a note about sources which have been decided are unreliable and should no longer be used on Wikipedia. The latest one is the Daily Mail and this is been removed at the moment. If this is used on any of the projects articles then please remove it and replace with a more reliable source. If another source cannot be found then the reference and the text it supports should be removed from the article or if you think that the information is important the text should be tagged as {{citation needed}}.

The project is subscribed to a clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.
Monitoring is essential Use the watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
Moves Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.

Hi Nthep. Since you've also responded to WP:MCQ#Posting pictures, maybe you could also look at User talk:Ice bear johny#File source problem with File:MehanPark.jpg. I've tagged those file for CSD per WP:F4, but they all seem to come from here, which means they probably may be eligible for CSD per WP:F9 instead. I think this is just a WP:YOUNG editor who means well and is just tyring to be WP:HERE as best as they can; so, I don't think a block or any formal sanction is needed. Ice bear johny seems to be back at uploading photos per User talk:Ice bear johny#File source problem with File:ValleyNature.jpeg. Most of them seem to be for user page use, but at least this one was added to an article. They all seem to be licensed as PD-self which might be the case except the EXIF data is a bit questionable: some have no EXIF data, some have EXIF data that indicates the photo might come from Facebook and some have detailed EXIF data from a camera. Perhaps all that’s needed here is OTRS verification or maybe just a source link to those with iffy or no EXIF data. Oh what a mess. I've deleted a couple of obvious copyvios but the rest. Some might be his own work but are frankly unencylopedic especially without descriptions and ought to go to FFD on that basis. I decide to try resolving the F4 and F11 issues via user talk page discussion to give them the chance to provide more clarification. If there’s no response or an incomplete response, then maybe the files should be tagged with {{nsd}} or {{npd}}. Does that seem reasonable? — Marchjuly (talk) 21:51, 3 October 2020 (UTC)

I appreciate you protecting Budiansky's article for the moment, but you should know that this user has a history of wiki vandalism, as I noted in this report. The information they've attempted to add is falsified, and they have a history of lying about others' intentions or attempting to claim they represent or actually are individuals involved with Transformers or Gobots in an official capacity (such as Hasbro, Budiansky, or Peter Cullen) in order to either claim legitimacy or to threaten those who correct them. Perhaps if some of the people reverting the edits had used some edit summaries I might have taken a different course but as I saw it, it looked like an edit war over how much Budiansky is responsible for Transformers with no attempt by anyone to discuss. Articles should not be buried under numerous images just because the images have been uploaded. That's why {{Commonscat}} exists - to provide a link to relevant but not necessarily essential to the article images. See WP:GALLERY.
the copyright status is currently not clear. They are uploaded as the uploaded own work which they patently are not. The images may be public domain but they may also still be under copyright, so that needs to be resolved. Nthep (talk) 12:45, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Why did you deleted my changes?? SSR was murdered and there have been several claims. I added them as citations also but still you have a problem. His fans are urging there should be a change in the death section. And also that "Suicide by hanging" should change to either "Homicide" or "Murder" as per the claims. we are not interested in gossip sources that are mere speculation nor are we here to pander to the wishes of his fans. Hey there, some bonehead-ry occurred recently at Yamirukka Bayamen (TV series). Short story, someone hijacked it in late October, built an article about Endrendrum Punnagai on top of it, then moved the article to Endrendrum Punnagai (TV series). I've reverted all of these issues.
Was hoping you could help with the following though, if you don't mind; I'm not too experienced with image stuff: The image currently visible at File:Yamirukka Bayamen (TV series).jpg, with the headphones lady, is for the series Endrendrum Punnagai. These editors apparently uploaded this show's image on top of File:Yamirukka Bayamen (TV series).jpg as part of whatever keypad mashing they were doing. Since Endrendrum Punnagai (TV series) no longer exists, the image is orphaned, but doesn't represent Yamirukka Bayamen anyway. So I'm not sure what the correct way to deal with this is--delete the image, or move it to a new target, even though it'll be orphaned? Can I dump this in your lap? Apologies for the confusion on Hamilton, I was not aware until now that he had written a second 1969 book specifically on Quintinshill as well as his (good) 1967 book on a range of British 20th century railway accidents. I had added a couple of references from his earlier book under the BBC documentary section. I've now included both Hamilton references and have linked my two refs to the 1967 book. I had mistakenly thought when I looked at it that I had added Hamilton and carelessly given the book the wrong name by copy-and-pasting the entry for Thomas' book. Hopefully that will sort it out. Thanks. It doesn't add too much if you have all the others and his 67 book and I wouldn't bother purchasing this one unless Quintinshill is you absolute and sole interest. It's not particularly long but does have some useful diagrams of the signalling layout etc. I borrowed a copy when I did a rewrite on this article some years ago and I haven't missed owning my own copy. I have to say I was disappointed with Richards & Searle; it is, imo, trying to make a point without actually proving a conspiracy and I think the BBC took too much notice of it - solely because it was recent. Yes, I'm afraid I was disappointed both by their view and by the BBC documentary, as I thought it was good that something was being produced for the centenary. Dare I say that it felt as if there was a bit of a political agenda there from BBC Scotland and the presenter in their choice to focus on the conspiracy theory? There would be great drama in a simple factual re-enactment of the half hour in the signalbox if the underlying information could be conveyed - perhaps by flashbacks as the safety mechanisms were explained later. It is time to wish all members of the project a Happy Christmas. Though it will be a very different one this year because of the restrictions placed on us by the government because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Though there will be some relaxation of the rules for a 5-day period over the Christmas period it will not allow much of the usual festivities to take place. Hopefully the vaccination will be available early next year for the country to get back to some sort of normality.

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
