Bil Jackson

I was voting on it as you closed. lol. For what it's worth, this was what I was going to insert: *Delete - While accomplished, the searches didn't return enough in-depth coverage from reliable independent sources to show notability. The 3 sources mentioned in this AfD are all primary sources (2 of them are dupes to the Vanderbilt page). The rest of the searches simply turned up trivial mentions, festival announcements, etc. So unless being the principal clarinetist in the Colorado Symphony Orchestra guarantees notability, he doesn't seem to pass the bil. (pun intended) Onel5969 TT me 18:18, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi onel5969 since we had an H:EC while I was closing the discussion, I don't mind if you addend the discussion with your rationale. If you do so, please state something about the edit conflict in your comment, to avoid confusion about an !vote with a timestamp that occurs later than the one in the close. North America1000 18:22, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
@Onel5969: Per the above ec matter during the close, I have reopened the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bil Jackson and reverted the no consensus closure, because the discussion is now leaning toward deletion. North America1000 18:33, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks for the heads up. Hope I didn't cause too much trouble. It's just that some searches are simple, others are very complicated, and then some, like this, while not complicated, do take a bit more time than the really easy ones, to do do effectively. And while I had the discussion open (so I can make notes), you closed it. Anyway, thanks for handling it. Onel5969 TT me 19:20, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

RobLuna

Hey there. In case you didn't notice, jackboro1 has been deleting content on the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/RobLuna page, including your relist banner and two separate delete votes (including my own): [2]. I'm not sure how to properly restore the deleted content (or how to deal with the vandalism, although I gave him a warning on his talk page). FuriouslySerene (talk) 15:26, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

@FuriouslySerene: I restored the relist template at the discussion. It appears to be in order at this time after going through it, with the only content removed being that which User:Jackboro1 posted. The user was attempting to clean up their duplicate !votes. Since you warned them, hopefully this will not occur in the future. North America1000 22:24, 16 November 2015 (UTC)

Just sayin'

You know, someone really ought to create an article for Cuisine of New Orleans. That's currently a redirect to Louisiana Creole cuisine, but the food of Nola is so much more than just that. It's also a combination of Cajun cuisine, soul food, Southern cooking, seafood, and all those fabulous and famous food items that are New Orleans originals. (Po' boy, muffuletta, yaka mein, beignet, bananas Foster... the list goes on and on.) Just sayin'! Mudwater (Talk) 00:14, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

  • @Mudwater: Yeah, that's a good idea. I'm working on some other stuff right now, but will keep this in mind. "Bayou, Delia said..." (i.e. "Just sayin'"). North America1000 03:52, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

Great, thanks! I like it a lot. I may work on expanding it myself if I can find the time. Also, I think I'll post about this on WikiProject New Orleans, in case anyone there is interested in helping out. Anyway, thanks again. New Orleans has a really rich heritage of food, so this article was really needed.   Mudwater (Talk) 01:26, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Bot automation at Wikipedia:Today's articles for improvement

  Greetings WikiProject TAFI members!

Over the past two weeks, there has been extensive discussion on introducing bot automation to assist with maintenance of the Today's Articles for Improvement project. A bot has now been approved for trial and will carry out the weekly duties. The bots first run will occur around 00:00, 22 November 2015 (UTC) (midnight on Sunday).

If you have been assisting any of the weekly maintenance tasks, please refrain from doing so this week. The bot needs to be tested and proven it can do the job, and it only gets one chance per week. The tasks will include:

Updating the accomplishments and archiving selections is still done manually, along with daily tasks such as adding approved entries to the articles for improvement page. These will become automated in the near future.

We hope the bot proves to serve well, and by carrying out the routine housekeeping tasks we can boost the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project. MusikBot thanks you for your service in helping with the weekly tasks in the past, and for your cooperation during this trial period :)

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Anita F. Boorda

I am reaching out as I would like to recreate the Anita F. Boorda page. I saw that you deleted it last year. The Wikipedia instructions read that I should contact the administrator. How do I go about recreating this page? Siarus1074 (talk) 16:17, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

  • Hello Siarus1074: A problem is that per the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anita F. Boorda, it was determined that the subject did not meet Wikipedia's notability standards (e.g. see WP:BASIC and WP:NOTE) for inclusion in the encyclopedia. Per the overall arguments and consensus at the deletion discussion, I'm not allowed to restore the deleted article under these circumstances.
Can you provide any evidence that the subject may meet any of Wikipedia's notability criteria? This would serve to provide a means for the article to be recreated. For example, has the subject received significant coverage in reliable sources that is beyond routine, local coverage? North America1000 16:50, 19 November 2015 (UTC)

No Consensus

Hi Northamerica1000, Hope all's well :)
Yesterday (or this morning) you closed WP:AFD/Salford City Radio as No Consensus WP:NPASR, So I renominated it about 5-10 minutes later and well a certain editor had said "Really, again?" [3],
So am I right in thinking that If an AFD is closed as "No Consensus with no prejudice against speedy renomination (NPASR)" and with no !votes that I can then renominate it 5 minutes later ? (Obviously had there been !votes then I'd never renominate especially so early but the AFD was closed with no !votes and so thus nothing had changed from the last AFD),
I'm convinced I'm correct here but as you're the one with the most knowledge with AFDs I figured I'd ask you :)
Thanks, (BTW Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it, or If you're like me not an american then I guess ... Umm Have a happy week!  ), –Davey2010Talk 17:15, 26 November 2015 (UTC)

@Davey2010: NPASR means exactly what it says; therefore, I have no prejudice against your speedy renomination. The renomination is fine by me. Hey, at least the nomination has received some discussion this time around. Happy holidays! North America1000 23:54, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
I apologize for sounding absolutely dumb above but after his reply I began to wonder if I was missing something .... Turns out I'm missing a brain!  , Anyway thanks for clarifying that - It's good to know I'm not going mad just yet!..., Anyway thanks and Have a nice day :), –Davey2010Talk 00:10, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
