Replaceable fair use File:Neenyo in The Fader.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Neenyo in The Fader.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones  (Talk) 20:18, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Copying text from other websites edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement: "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribute Share-Alike".

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the Help Desk. You can also leave a message on my talk page. Deli nk (talk) 20:47, 27 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

This was your edit--I have to ask you to stop editing this promotionally. Also, please don't make up titles for newspaper articles (like "Blood honey marketing attracting international media coverage from as far away as Russia, England"). Thank you. Drmies (talk) 00:50, 13 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Lina Hamed edit

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Noona Noona, thanks for creating Lina Hamed!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please remove all the sources that are only promotional. Wikipedia is not an SEO platform.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

@Kudpung: thanks for your gentle reminder, I just found the article at Arabic Wikipedia so translated it and included most essential data. If you can tell me which reference that you think that it's for promotional purposes it would be helpful. Noona Noona (talk) 17:17, 30 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, other language Wikipedias may not practice the very strict criteria for inclusion that we do on en.Wiki. I have examined the sources again and the following is my analysis. I am in fact tempted to delete the article:
I see no article only a picture. This does not add anything to the article. Otherwise, The Telegraph is a respectable newspaper. One of the UK's big four quality papers..
This is just a company registration. It does not add anything to the article.
This is a blog, something to do with designer Olivia Palermo. The site has no impressum and is probably unreliable opinion.
very brief mention. Does not add to notability. Otherwise, The Independent is a respectable newspaper. One of the UK's big four quality papers.
Promotional site - The site has no impressum and is probably unreliable opinion. Brief mention only. Does not add to notability.
The standard magazines from the house of ELLE are generally reliable sources depending whether the articles are genuine editorial, op-ed, or opinion, or advertorial. This is advertorial.
Promotional. Girl.au claims itself that this page is a gossip column. This is not about Lina H, it’s about her handbags. Highly promotional - possible advertorial.
The NYT is generally acceptable as a reliable source, but this is not about Lina H. Again it’s promotion for her handbags.
Inadmissible. Wikipedia cannot be used as a source for its own articles.
Possibly a reliable source, but this is not about Lina H. Again it’s promotion for her handbags.
I don’t know what this purely promotional site is doing here at all. I had to read it three times to find the six or so words, again only about her brand
One single word only - again the brand name.
‘’Croc madame’’ - only a French-English bilingual like me would probably get the twist in this very clever double play on words. But there is nothing biographical in this either. It’s just her talking a bit about her brand again.

In my opinion, whoever first created this article simply included every webite they came across in a Google search without any attempt to evaluate them for relevancy. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 06:22, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Kudpung: −Thanks for clarifying the issues, I didn't plan to work on this article, but after your very clear and useful comments i see that the article needs to be improved and some sources need to be removed. I will do this and also look for other possible references. Give me some time please - I will get back to you with the updated code and will remove some of the most promotional things that you highlights. Noona Noona (talk) 10:52, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

Don't remove a PROD template from Wikipedia pages that you created yourself. That's totally against the rules if you read what the template says carefully. Any attempt to violate this may result in blocking you from the encyclopedia entirely. Sillva1 (talk) 23:39, 27 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Sillva1: You are absolutely wrong. Anyone, including the creator of an article, may remove a prod. Your revert of Noona Noona's removal was against policy and your warning here is misguided at besst. I've reverted you at the article.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:49, 28 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  MER-C 15:51, 28 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

@MER-C: thanks for well stop. @Drmies: thanks for welcoming when i start editing. @Bbb23: thanks for your support before will never forget that. Now i want to clarify the contributions I have made in return for payment. I also want to clarify that I did not know at the outset that editing for payment was prohibited in Wikipedia. When I knew and continued to edit, I did not realize the importance of this topic to the Wikipedia community. The main purpose of my contributions was not to get money but also to deliver information and truth to the reader. Now I want to continue contributing and I also want to be a good editor and not in return of payments all of my work will be a voluntary work. And about writing in promotional way it was a mistake, I didn't mean to make it as promotional. Thanks Noona Noona (talk) 23:36, 7 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Having reviewed your article creations, I find myself disinclined to accept your claim that you were trying to deliver knowledge rather than make money. Every one of your articles suffers from the same two issues: subtle promotional content, and weak sourcing. These demonstrate a desire to get an article tailored to the subject's expectations up on Wikipedia as quickly as possible, and are exactly the issues that concern us with regards to paid editors. Since you never disclosed your paid status to begin with (as required by Wikipedia's Terms of Use), I don't see how we could believe you when you say that you will no longer edit for pay. Frankly, I have no confidence that unblocking you would be in Wikipedia's interest, so I am declining this appeal. Yunshui  07:26, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Cautious Clay moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Cautious Clay, appears to be paid editing in violation of our terms of use. I've moved it to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) in case any volunteer editor wants to work on it. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:23, 29 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Blood Honey Poster.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Blood Honey Poster.jpg, which you've attributed to ticket 2018040510008461, which does not contain acceptable evidence of permission. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 16:33, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
