Brazil/Russia as superpowers

I see that you are onto these latest changes to the International power template (and to the superpower article itself) - good stuff. I just thought that I'd give you a quick heads-up that Brazil as an emerging superpower has been created, thankfully it is already up for Afd (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brazil as an emerging superpower). If Russia is created then it can go up there too. Earlier attempts at Russia, Brazil, and Japan were deleted back in July, so that's a good precedent for knocking this on the head pretty sharpish.

Yes, you're right, they are a difficult series of articles to police - a thankless task, but I suppose someone has to do it. What irks me most is the fact that people don't seem to have the slightest inclination to read the various policy pages. Whether this is due to obstinacy or to simple inexperience with WP and the central role of OR, NPOV, V etc, I don't know. Anyway, despite my cris du coeur moment, I'll stay with these articles into the medium term at the very least. After prosifying Great power and trying for GA, there will be the opportunity for a short break while we consider what to do next (cleanup of the Superpower page?), a good thing all round.

History of Pakistan

This is about the land which is now called Pakistan. We don't know what people of Mehrgarh called thier land 7,000 years ago. We don't know what the people of Indus Valley Civilization called thier land 3,500 years ago. They were referred as Meluhha in Sumerian texts. When Persia conquered this area it was called Sindhu which Iranians pronounced as Hindu. The Greek took this word named it India. Arabs called this land as Sindh and modern India as Hind. Clearly, the land is the same but names have changed. I am quoting that paragraph from Dr. Dani. You cannot change his word to suit your interpretation. merge pakistan, india and bangladesh articles

You know, since all three child countries of British India are spawned off the same civilization, I thought, why not leave h]History of India and History of Pakistan for modern post-1947 countries and pre-1947 independence movements and transfer all ancient history onwards to an article called "history of south asia" or "history of the subcontinent" or something. All three histories are to be talked about as a common Hindi civilization. As an endnote we will have "see also" History of Afghanistan, History of Ceylon, History of Nepal, etc for nations in South Asia, that while connected with ancient Hindu culture, have been separated and developed somewhat separately from "Indian civilization" for the past millenium. Actually, I already have done as you suggested. Most of the information in the Indian Muslim Nationalism stuff regarding persecution is from the US Library of Congress, a ref that I had already discovered independently and used both for anti-Hindu, as well as Persecution of Hindus.Hkelkar 07:53, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

I was browsing through Talk:Pakistani nationalism and I came across your views on Pakistani nationalism. I agree with "there is no problem in keeping them there if that is what Pakistani nationalists are proud of". I did'nt edit this particular article extensivelty because if they want this POV to be conveyed to the larger internet audience and subsequently the mainstream media and add to their already tarnished reputation of hatred and intolerence then so be it. User:129.112.109.250 may be a sockpuppet for user:kennethtennyson, both have the same views about India, and a habit of following me around on wikipedia. Best watch out for the sockpuppet and it's anti-India stance in articles like Hindutva etc. I Informed you because I noticed you were editors in some of those articles as well. If you wish to present such information them please find a reliable source (preferably one which is peer-reviewed), and try to round off the section with the other POV. Ikonoblast has gone on wikibreak and said he was going to impeach me anyway (he's Holywarrior if you didn't know). I'd already been aware of that. It will end up as a general arbitration for the relgios fighting that has been going on for a few months. All of them are likely to be on revert parole. And the other thing, in light of Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Khoikhoi 2, I think that you do have quite a good chance, as you have worked well in eternally-controversial areas - I think you told Baka that you felt it was an impossible task, but I don't think a one-off 3RR is a massive thing.
