Pending Changes Reviewer edit

Hi Nathan, I'm not sure how someone manages to be here as long as you have an not have the wp:Pending Changes reviewr flag set, but I've taken the liberty of fixing that. If you have any pages on your watchlist protected by pending changes, you can now approve good edits to those articles. ϢereSpielChequers 21:02, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

You need one. edit

@Vjmlhds: Heh thank you! I'm still not done yet with that page and with WHKW but I'm aiming for Good Article status on both of them. Wish me luck lol ^-^ Nathan Obral • he/him • tc • 18:59, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Mass media edit

I just wanted to explain to you directly why I broke up the charts, because I don't want you to think I'm trying to give you a hard time or cause an argument.

I just felt that cramming everything into one chart (regarding both the FM and TV stations) made things a big ol' fustercluck.

The fact that the LPTVs and LPFMs were shaded to differentiate them any way made it all the more clear that it was best to put them in their own chart.

This way the charts aren't too clogged up, you don't have to figure out shading, and it isn't just one big blob.

Maybe it's just me, but things are easier to read and digest if they're broken up (at least a bit) and not coming at you all at once.

Again, I just wanted to make sure there are no misunderstandings, and show there was a method to my madness.

Thank you.

@Vjmlhds: You're good! There actually are two orphaned pages that Sammi Brie and I, along with a few other editors, are still at an impasse to resolve (List of Los Angeles television stations and List of television stations in the San Francisco Bay Area) plus this page that is largely redundant and outdated History of television in Atlanta. I wasn't trying to start an edit war but see if there's a way to use the Cleveland mass media page as a way to resolve those two and have them utilized the same way. (I only removed the "branding" column because that's just a nightmare to maintain, and consolidating the rows with analog and HD1 kinda resulted in an executive decision on my part.) Trust me - I know it wasn't anything malicious on your part. Like I said (just talking for me) it's just easier to go down in smaller bites than in 1 big gulp. Vjmlhds (talk) 22:45, 6 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Vjmlhds: I sandboxed the page for proof-of-concept for what I ultimately wanted to do. Turns out most media lists elsewhere on the platform don't include translators at all, so they're gone entirely. Subchannel info is gone on the TV section, that can all be summed up in their respective articles. No tables, just a nice, clean look like newspapers used to print out: User:Nathan Obral/sandbox/List of mass media in Cleveland Nathan Obral • he/him • tc • 02:25, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
There really isn't 1 set way to do these type of articles. Like anything else, there's a happy medium...there's a way to include all the info without it being a jumbled mess. The way I laid it out was with that in mind - can't pretend the LPFMs and LPTVs don't exist, but just throwing everything into 1 pile gunks things up (and makes it a chore to read), so I separated them into their own sections. I smell what you're cooking with your version...don't get me wrong, but - just me talking - I don't want anything short changed either. Other articles not including subchannels/translators probably wasn't due to any rule/policy against it, but just plain old people wanting to do something quickly and not wanting to put in the time to include everything. This isn't an either/or thing, more like a matter of finding just the right balance. Vjmlhds (talk) 03:51, 11 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
