OKAY hi please leave the genres alone — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.121.51 (talkcontribs) 09:22, 6 January 2016‎ (UTC)Reply

Neither of the genres are in the source you're adding. Yeepsi (talk) 09:24, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I find that interesting even though i only added the cite to electropop, due to the author including subgenre talk like "synth" pop and "electronic". Anyways The 1975 is an idie pop, indie rock, eletropop band...it was stated on their last album too. Maybe try listening to them? IS there a reason for all the pickiness? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.121.51 (talkcontribs) 09:27, 6 January 2016‎ (UTC)Reply

The "synth" talk is referring to just "Love Me". You need to find a RS that calls the whole album, not just one song, genres X, Y and Z. Re:"Maybe try listening to them?" - see WP:OR. Yeepsi (talk) 09:32, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Further Sky edit

Hello Yeepsi: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors for the article Further Sky has been completed. You will notice that I have archived one of your citations (#1) and I would strongly suggest that you archive the rest as time allows. This ensures that your article's references are available "forever". The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the url in your citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. It creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new url to add to your original citation. If you look at one of the url's I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new url to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=6 November 2015}} Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Kind regardsTwofingered Typist (talk) 15:35, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Twofingered Typist. I've used archive.org before. Recently, I'm not sure if other people are having this problem as well, but sometimes when I click "Save", it just loads a blank page. Like, it doesn't load the page with the usual "Saving" box. The page is just blank. Not sure if it's an error on my side or what. Yeepsi (talk) 18:31, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
Interesting, I haven't run into that. That sounds like another example of what happens when a site doesn't permit archiving. I just did your second citation and it worked fine. If you've got time, I'd still suggest you archive what you can. Cheers.Twofingered Typist (talk) 19:51, 12 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

A Lesson in Romantics edit

I've noticed the fabulous work you did on Mayday Parade's debut album! God, that thing brings back memories. An underground favorite of mine a few years back. I was wondering...are you planning on nominating that for GA soon, and if not, would you be interested in doing a co-nomination with me at some point? (I wouldn't want to leave you without credit, you've already done so much work on it!) I would do it soon, and I'll get back to this kind of thing eventually, but right now I'm a bit tied up with life. dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 23:34, 15 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the compliments @DannyMusicEditor! I've been meaning to do a little work on the article before nominating it for a while now. (I keep getting distracted by editing the article(s) for whatever I'm listening to at any given point). I'd be up for co-nominating it. No rush at the moment since you're busy with life. One thing I’ve been meaning to do is flesh out the Reception section but I haven’t had much luck trying to find a good quantity of RS reviews, let alone reviews from when it was first released. Another thing is adding archive links for the AbsolutePunk news posts (since the website has now been re-named and the old news posts don’t exist anymore). I archived the news posts a while back but haven’t added the archive links as I’ve been having trouble with the Wayback Machine (see the #Further Sky section a few messages above). Apart from that, I’d say a trip to the guild of copy editors might be in order before sending it to GAN. Yeepsi (talk) 22:51, 16 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
I am also having trouble finding any more RS reviews. But it's a debut, and the band found little success with it initially, right? I think most mainstream publications wouldn't publish a review for it by the time it found success, because by then it's be a bit old and it wouldn't make sense to write about a nearly year-old release. I've seen a GA album with only a few reviews (yes, there were still more in that article), but I think this is okay. I think we should write something like "Despite its eventual success and acclaim, A Lesson In Romantics received little attention from professional music critics." (I feel like it could be better, but I'll have a C/E fix that.) dannymusiceditor what'd I do now? 23:40, 16 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough then. That's a good summary. I think I have an issue of Kerrang! where a writer briefly talked about the album's place in the music scene at the time (might have been one line, can't really remember). I'll try to dig it up. Yeepsi (talk) 13:03, 17 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Victory! edit

WOOOOO it passed today! Now it's time for me to pick another article to put in the nomination list; I think I'm going to put up Evanescence's debut album after it's copyedited and attempt a GT after that. But I'm still interested in collaborating with you on ADTR's Common Courtesy, Knuckle Puck's Copacetic, and both of Neck Deep's albums, if you don't nominate any of them before I do. I'd also do you Me at Six's Take Off Your Colours, but it's got some considerable lead work to be done. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 14:30, 20 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fantastic. Sure, I'd love to collab again. I've been meaning to get some of those off my to-do list for a while now, especially Common Courtesy (2.5 years+ now...). Just thought I'd mention in case you haven't seen – on the talk pages of some of those you've listed, I've added potential refs but haven't incorporated them to the articles yet. Yeepsi (talk) 17:59, 21 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Fall Out Boy edit

Do you seen any immediate problems with the band's article, and how close do you think it'd be to GA? When I get to it, I think this will be my first attempt at getting a band article to GA status. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 13:26, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

There's a couple of one thing that I think needs adjusting/editing:

  • Under the AB/AP section, there's a number of one-sentence paragraphs that will need expanding and/or combining together.
  • The text under "In pop culture" is more relevant to the respective songs than the band's bio IMO.

Apart from those two points, there's a few tiny fixes I'll do in a moment. Otherwise, I'd say it's good to go. Yeepsi (talk) 21:21, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Christ on a bike, Yeepsi, that's more work than I'd have possibly asked of you! Thanks a bunch! dannymusiceditor Speak up! 00:53, 26 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

So Sad image edit

Hi Yeepsi, how's it going? Long time no speak. Just getting in touch to ask whether you'd mind if I replace a vinyl label image you uploaded for So Sad#Alvin Lee and Mylon LeFevre's version with a European pic sleeve I've found. The pic sleeve does appear in the booklet for the 2003 reissue of the Lee and LeFevre album, and I suppose I also think a sleeve of any sort is always of more use to readers than a generic face label. Are you okay with that – do you have a wish to retain the Chrysalis label? Cheers, JG66 (talk) 07:21, 27 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reply, Y. Magic. Go well. JG66 (talk) 14:21, 27 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nah, I don't mind (I assume you're referring to nom'ing it), go for it. I'm glad someone is working on the BA article, such a great record. Also, I checked the linear notes of the deluxe edtion - only studio names/studio locations are listed, no dates/timeframe (you'd think for a deluxe edition they'd mention the recording dates!). Yeepsi (talk) 17:13, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Okay one question. It is apparent that not all the reviews in the box appear in the critical reception section as prose. Is this a requirement? If so, I'll work on that tomorrow or soon after. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 20:45, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think it's preferred that whatever reviews there are in the box should be written in prose. Yeepsi (talk) 21:01, 29 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I got a "challenge" for us, if you're up to it edit

Nominate this tomorrow (its release day), and while we wait for review, expand critical reception and fix everything else while the sources are still fresh so we can continue the almost-GT of B182 albums!

Hope you got the joke, by the way, wink wink. I'd also bring Saginaw-hitchhiker into this, as he's done some massive work on the article.dannymusiceditor Speak up! 01:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Some advice edit

I started some work on articles you'd developed pretty far along, and I must say, I like it. But you don't always need a reference at the end of every sentence. There's nothing wrong with it per se, but it could get to look like an eyesore sometimes when the sentences are short enough. Take this for example, from Take Off Your Colours:

"The band began recording in spring 2008 at Outhouse Studios in Reading, Berkshire[11] over the course of two weeks.[19] Matt O'Grady and John Mitchell handled producer duties.[11] Mitchell also mixed the proceedings.[11] "Save It for the Bedroom" and "You've Made Your Bed (So Sleep in It)" were both re-recorded during these sessions. Franceschi's sister Elissa provided additional vocals on "Always Attract".[11] Tim Turan mastered the album at TuranAudio.[11]"

There's only one time another ref appears besides number 11. The second two sentences could be covered by a single reference. It could even cover the mastering, if you move it (which I think I would). I'm just saying, it doesn't have to be a ref after every period (or not, even, in this case). Thought maybe I'd say this because I learned that the hard way while putting stuff in an FAC earlier this year. '^-^ dannymusiceditor Speak up! 21:01, 6 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cheers for this, I appreciate the advice. Yeepsi (talk) 21:06, 6 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

James Dewees edit

Hi there! Earlier this year in April I took out James Dewees in the credits of Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys [3], due to him not being credited at all on the Danger Days booklet (in the list of personnel, the only keyboardist listed being Jamie Muhoberac), nor in the May Death Never Stop You booklet (Dewees only being credited on "Fake Your Death"). You reverted the edit stating that Dewees did indeed perform on Danger Days. I decided to look more into it today but I could not find anything on Dewees performing on Danger Days and am willing to remove him again from the personnel list. Is there anything that proves Dewees did indeed perform on the album before I remove him? Thank you. Sekyaw (talk) 22:27, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Sekyaw:. I thought I saw this name in the Danger Days booklet previously, but I've checked just now and couldn't find his name. Guess I was mistaken. Feel free to remove him! Yeepsi (talk) 22:36, 15 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl edit

Why did you take down the upcoming CD release of the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl? It has a new title (it is now called "Live at the Hollywood Bowl") and a new cover, but it is being released in September. Amazon is already taking orders. Check your email inbox, if you are on the Beatles mailing list, you may have already received an email announcing the release.

The source you added – wogew.blogspot.co.uk – isn't considered a reliable source, that's why I removed it. I thought I was on the Beatles mailing list, but it appears I haven't got an email of any kind. Yeepsi (talk) 22:08, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
What about Rolling Stone, is that not a reliable source, either? It is coming out on September 9, to coincide with Ron Howard's film, "Eight Days a Week." The cover is the movie poster. (The 1977 album will be the back cover.) The album will contain the 13 songs on the 1977 album, plus four more songs. What? I said that wogew.blogspot.co.uk isn't a reliable source (and provided a link on how to identify reliable sources), which is why I removed it. I checked Google, but nothing turned up a reliable source until earlier this afternoon when I found the Uncut post. I formatted the bonus tracks to match the rest of the track listing as they'd look out of place otherwise. Yeepsi (talk) 16:32, 20 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Paramore album edit

It honestly worked either way. My gut tells me it'd better fit where it was, but it makes all logical sense to put it where you put it. Yet it still makes me uncomfortable. Why? Because there's a reason I think it goes there that I can't quite put my finger on. But you're alright. Since I can't quite identify it you can keep it there. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 18:24, 10 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Just some music talk edit

So I haven't seen you edit a lot of metal articles. Mostly pop punk and emo. But maybe you'd like to try something different. If you like ADTR's new direction, you'd like The Amity Affliction. A pretty good screamer who can kinda sing when he wants to, and a clean vocalist that appeals to ADTR fans - and they know how to balance the two. I've been really enjoying 'em lately. And they're among the most popular of post-hardcore/metalcore bands - one Platinum and two Gold albums in their home country of Australia. Fav song is "Give It All" (not a single), but their best single is probably "Pittsburgh" or "The Weigh Down". dannymusiceditor Speak up! 01:39, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

I've been meaning to check them out for a while now. Since you've given some song recommendations, I'll check 'em out tonight. Cheers for this! Yeepsi (talk) 20:53, 14 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

On 7 September 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that an advance video release from The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts sparked rumors of a possible reunion tour of the American rock band My Chemical Romance? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, The Black Parade/Living With Ghosts), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Navboxes edit

Hey Y, hope you're going well. Quick question about the artist navboxes appearing in WP Beatles song articles, because I know you've done a lot of work there over the years, and you've probably got a better project-wide perspective than me: should a navbox be included when the song itself doesn't appear in the navbox? I used to assume that the inclusion of a Songs list in the template was automatically sufficient, but I've seen editors remove navboxes unless the article title appears in bold in the box. So I started doing the same with many of the George songs (figuring it was me who probably added them in the first place), but stopped when I saw that navboxes appear in R and J song articles … Any thoughts? Okay, one more thing: What's the serial number for Clarity? Do you literally have all these albums, or where do you find the numbers? I want all my liner citations in Bleed American to be consistent, but I added the ones in Clarity's article to begin with. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 02:30, 2 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@DannyMusicEditor: Clarity: 7243 5 39616 0 2. For every album you've asked me about so far, yeah I've got them in one physical form or another. For some album articles I've worked on, I've used Discogs [4] which occasionally has pictures of album booklets. (Apologies for late reply, I've had little internet access this past week.) @DannyMusicEditor: Got a quick question, are you any good with the |alt= parameter for the Infobox Album template? I'm in the middle of making the changes to Further Sky as per the GAN review page, but I can't come up with a good description beyond saying it's a red box with "Basement" and "Further Sky" on it. Am I overthinking things or is that fine? Yeepsi (talk) 20:27, 7 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch edit

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch has been completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

You will notice that I archived one of the article’s citations (#1). I suggest that you archive the rest of the article’s URLs as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop "dead links" over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the URL in the citation and paste it in the "Save Page Now" box on the archive.org site and click "Save". This creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new URL to add to the original citation. If you look at the URL I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new URL to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl=http etc|archivedate=December 12, 2016}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.

Regards,

Twofingered Typist (talk) 22:33, 12 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
