Hi. I certainly don't want to be rude either, because new editors are good to have. I merged the Athletics and Mets bits because they're really short on their own. A subsection that's too short disrupts the article flow, so I figured that the two short paragraphs on the 2015 season work best in one subsection. I could be wrong. Just like the "scope"s on the column headers, it identifies the row header. It's pretty much required for tables if you want to promote the article to FL status. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility/Data tables tutorial. It's a great article by the way, and should be worked up to FL or GA. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:06, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Hey, I'm jbaron43. You reverted my Dexter Fowler edits, but I'd like to provide what I believe is a reliable source confirming the information I added. It is from the Orioles own new network, written by the Orioles beat writer. While the deal is pending a physical, I included that in my edits to the page.

• "Pending a physical" is a very important distinction. A trade involving Jay Bruce just fell through this week because someone failed a physical. And as far as the Orioles go, they nixed a deal with Grant Balfour a few years ago because of a failed physical and they're currently holding up their agreement with Yovani Gallardo, which a source said is "up in the air". The MASN Sports source attributes only an "industry source", not confirmation from the team. This could fall through so easily that it was premature for you to add, which is why I reverted it. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:07, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015 March newsletter

That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. Forty-seven competitors move into this round (a bit shy of the expected 64), and we are roughly broken into eight groups of six. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups.

Twenty-two Good Articles were submitted, including three by Cyclonebiskit (submissions), and two each by MPJ-DK (submissions), Hurricanehink (submissions), 12george1 (submissions), and Cas Liber (submissions). Twenty-one Featured Pictures were claimed, including 17 by Adam Cuerden (submissions) (the Round 1 high scorer). Thirty-one contestants saw their DYKs appear on the main page, with a commanding lead (28) by Cwmhiraeth (submissions). Twenty-nine participants conducted GA reviews with J Milburn (submissions) completing nine.

2016 GA Cup-Round 2

WikiProject Good Articles's 2016 GA Cup - Round 1 Greetings, GA Cup competitors! Wednesday saw the end of Round 1. Sainsf took out Round 1 with an amazing score of 765. In second place, MPJ-DK earned an astounding 742 points, and in third place, FunkMonk received 610 points. In Round 1, 206 reviews were completed, more than any other year! At the beginning of March, there were 595 outstanding nominations in the GAN queue; by the end of Round 1, there were 490. We continue to make a difference at GAN and throughout Wikipedia, something we should all be proud of. Thanks to all our competitors for helping to make the GA Cup a continued success, and for your part in helping other editors improve articles. We hope to see all remaining users fighting it out in Round 2 so we can lower the backlog as much as possible. To qualify for the second round, you needed to make it into the top 16 of participants. Users were placed in 4 random pools of 4. To qualify for Round 3, the top 2 in each pool will progress, and there will also be one wildcard. This means that the participant who comes in 9th place (all pools combined) will also move on. Round 2 will start on April 1 at 0:00:01 UTC and end on April 28 at 23:59:59 UTC. Information about Round 2 and the pools can be found here Also, remember that a major rule change will go into effect starting on April 1, which marks the beginning of Round Two. Round 1 had an issue brought up in the rules, which we are correcting with this clarification. We believe that this change will make the competition more inherently fair. The new rule is: All reviews must give the nominator (or anyone else willing to improve the article) time to address the issues at hand, even if the article would qualify for what is usually called a "quick fail" in GA terms. To avoid further confusion, we have updated the scoring page, replacing the term "quick fail" with the term "fail without granting time for improvements". We expect all reviewers to put a review on hold for seven days in cases such as these as well, in order to apply the same standards to every competitor. Good luck this season. On an other issue. At a certain article you removed and repeated in a televised interview. I totally agree with your edit. All he does is repeat. Aside from not answering questions, it's what he does best. His favorite word to repeat is "terrible" but I don't think we need to include that in the article. When I was young (60 years ago) it was easy to support both Cubs and White Sox. Old Comiskey park would rock with chant of "Yankees Suck". Of course they didn't suck but it was fun to "rib" them anyway. Cubs v Yankees would be awesome. Schwarber will hit a line drive so hard it will knock the head off the Mickey Mantle statue. Desmond Lindsay

He's notable become he's a second round pick AND the first pick by the mets in the 2015 MLB Draft. Most of the other 2015 second round picks have pages and Lindsay was the mets first pick so he's notable enough for his own page. Leggomygreggo8 (talk) 11:17, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

Being a second round pick and being the first selection by a team in the draft does not make a player automatically notable. A player must have enough sources to pass WP:GNG and as of right now Lindsey does not have these sources so we use the Mets minor league article as a placeholder until he potentially get's more sources. And by the way, no "most" second round choices do not have articles.--Yankees10 16:55, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

2015 MLB Draft currently lists nine second round picks, out of 30. Two of those nine (Alex Young and Jeff Degano, are redirects to the minor league pages. I guess we can make it 10 out of 30 and three out of 10 when including Lindsay. GNG isn't an exact science, but it does say clearly that a subject requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" to be "presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list." Two sources is not "significant", especially when they're just about being drafted and signed (which is more routine coverage than "significant"). – Muboshgu (talk) 17:49, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

2015 Carolina Panthers NFL season

You said that it's too much for one season. When it is the single best season in a young franchise's history and the MVP season by that team's QB then it gets more writing. Each paragraph accurately represents significant achievements all coming down to the Super Bowl. It's well written and isn't biased in any sense. It paints a clear picture of Cam Newton's season. I thought I could add a better picture for the super bowl image but after your correction, I see the mistake. I have thanked you for it. However, I do believe you should undo your "my god, way too much for one season" edit per the above. Thanks.

2016 Chicago Cubs season

Is there a standard for the batting and pitching stats @ baseball articles?? I was just ready to add series states to the Cubs article and I find that an editor, Lincolning, has added columns to the page. This diff shows the addition of a whole bunch of additional work for anyone maintaining the statistics. Now, that's fine if they are personally going to maintain the stats at least at the end of each series throughout the year, but if they are not planning on staying on top of the stats on an almost daily basis, I don't think its fair to expect someone else to fill in the columns that they have created. Its useful info but it requires diligence to keep it updated, which I don't see happening.

Now...I'm not going to add the stats I had planned to because then each players stats are incomplete but the reader won't know that. I dont wanna be "The Boss" of the article but editors that bounce in and out without any long range daily commitment are aggravating. Either they do the work or they keep their hands off. They make changes and additional work that I'm not interested in doing. As you might know, it takes effort to transfer the info from MLB.com to a sheet of paper and then to the articles and it takes diligent focus to maintain a seasonal article for the whole summer, not just when I feel like it. As you might be able to tell. I'm pissed. Any advice to help me "off the ledge" is helpful. Buster Seven Talk 13:12, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
