Sega Mega Drive edit

I noticed you were making some very large edits to the Mega drive article. It might be worth putting one of the templates from this page (Wikipedia:Template messages/Maintenance) up to avoid edit conflicts and to make life easier for yourself. The article needed a big re-jig, keep up the good work. - X201 11:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the tip. I'm currently adding some specific European info to the article because I noticed the article was overloaded mainly with specific North American information. I may add some Japanese info, although the system was not very popular over there as in Europe. (Mr Wesker 11:30, 8 May 2007 (UTC))Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Sega Pirate.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Sega Pirate.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:57, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:CDMalaga.PNG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CDMalaga.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:05, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Kierimg.PNG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Kierimg.PNG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 15:26, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:General_Paul_Cortez.PNG edit

I have tagged Image:General_Paul_Cortez.PNG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 13:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please provide a rational for this image. You have been asked to do so at least one time before. Failure to do so may result in your ability to upload being removed. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:01, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand what are you talking about when it's pretty obvious the use of this image, which is a video game cover art, is totally legal, like many other cover arts for video games that are spread over hundreds of others Wikipedia's articles. I simply don't see your point. (Mr Wesker 22:07, 5 August 2007 (UTC))Reply
Please see next section where I will put the same message as you recieved above but chose to ignore. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

And please scale down the size of the image as well. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:02, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Ninja Gaiden (Game Gear).PNG edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ninja Gaiden (Game Gear).PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please read over those and make sure that your image is really helping the article. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:14, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Now can you please reduce the size of the image? Thanks. (see our fair use criteria.) —— Eagle101Need help? 22:40, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Game-gear-logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Captain Tsubasa (Famicom) edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Captain Tsubasa (Famicom), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Captain Tsubasa (video game). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Homecoming edit

Please do not be rude in your edit summaries. Here is the edit where you inserted the information I reverted: Diff Note how at the bottom your source for a PC DVD release in Europe was play.com. Not a reliable source, and this article is currently being reviewed as a Good Article candidate, so it was important that unreliable sources were removed swiftly, hence my removal. I thank you for then deciding to locate a reliable source, but do not have a pop at me for your original poor sourcing - it is not my job to find reliable sources for the information you decide to add, but even then a brief Google was not enough to unturn this information. SynergyBlades (talk) 22:06, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry if I was rude, but I can't stand into everything I added being removed for such a reason. I mean, even the new taglines in the infobox were deleted, considering that the PC version goes separate to the console versions in terms of release dates, since its North American release was on November and not on September, and it's also going to lack a Japanese release. That way you can also point out the North American PC release is Steam-Only. Concerning the retail European PC release, it's OK if you didn't want to trust this kind of source (it's not just play.com, lots of European shops have the retail European PC version added to their catalogue, but I add this one since it's a very trusted European online shop), but this is something known for long and I was surprised it wasn't refered in the article. It's like European-related info doesn't really mind to Wikipedia.(Mr Wesker (talk) 22:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC))Reply
I'm European myself so I can understand your frustration! As you can see from the edit I linked to, I didn't touch the infobox - that was a different user - but that change might have been made because you added a mistake in the developer section of the box. After reverting it, they then forgot to readd your infobox addition, so all I was left with when I checked the changes since I last edited was the addition of the play.com link, which I subsequently removed. Sorry if that particular edit of mine offended; according to the Good Article guidelines at WikiProject:Video Games, online stores are not reliable sources for game release dates, and as I've worked really hard on the article to get it up to scratch before nominating it as a Good Article candidate, I was worried that it would be reason enough for the reviewer (who is currently reviewing it) to fail its nomination. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :) SynergyBlades (talk) 23:28, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
All right, I apologize. Won't be happening again.(Mr Wesker (talk) 18:31, 27 November 2008 (UTC))Reply

Repost of Template:Rolling Thunder series edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Template:Rolling Thunder series, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Template:Rolling Thunder series was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Template:Rolling Thunder series, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Smurfs video games edit

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but as you have written a number of articles on video games related to The Smurfs and added a number of video-game-related redlinks to the Smurfs template, I thought you might be interested to know that there is a discussion occurring both here and here concerning a possible merger of all of these articles into one. I am unfamiliar with the series as I believe all other members of the discussion are and I was hoping you could weigh in with your thoughts as to whether we should retain individual articles, whether we should merge them into one, and whether the games relate to each other as a series. Your edits to Rambo (video game) edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Rambo (video game) a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you.

License tagging for File:RECV boxart.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:RECV boxart.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 01:07, 21 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Málaga CF edit

Hi, one only thing, Malaga CF was founded in 1948 and renamed in 1994. The LFP and Málaga CF website confirm that Málaga CF not have relation with CD Malaga. Where are you from? You are from Spain or from Málaga? Do you known the history of CD Málaga and Málaga CF? Is very funny that you say that Málaga CF is from 1933. Jaja. Your arguments not are valids. Fernando Sanz, the Málaga CF chairman, the other day also says that this Málaga not save relation with CD Málaga. Greetings. --Raymond Cruise (talk) 10:24, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Don't start this again. We discussed this already the last summer. We even set up this in the Discussion page, I guess you remember. Málaga CF is the heir of CD Málaga, it was showed up with arguments in the Discussion page. And here in Wikipedia, most of the heir teams are linked with their disappeared ancestors in same articles. There are lots of rejoint cases. What is very funny is your insistence in doing this with Málaga CF and not with the rest of the teams in the same situation, probably because some kind of personal feeling from yourself. Also, you do an incomplete task by just editing some sections and leaving others (like players and coaches) intact, resulting into incoherence. Start a discussion in the Discussion page if you still disagree to this. Until then, I will commit myself into keeping the page as it was conceived before, and following the model of most disappeared/refounded teams. And I will, because you are the one who is persistent into changing it. (Mr Wesker (talk) 02:07, 17 April 2009 (UTC))Reply
There aren't more cases, Malaga CF is the only, What teams are in the same situation of Malaga CF? Mérida UD and CP Mérida, AD Almería and UD Almería, You dont have reason, your argument is very stupid, the English wikipedia follows the legal situation of the clubs. There are more cases. It is you who are just worrying about the Spanish teams for a reason. English wikipedia follows a general procedure of having disappeared ancestors and newborn heirs in the same article. Get your facts straight for the next time. And don't insist I'm commiting vandalism because I'm not. You are the one who do things on your own, aside from general procedures, ignoring the Discussion page at all, and just changing a few things here and there instead of rehauling articles completely. Yes, I am. I would probably not know all things and facts I know about Málaga (CF & CD) and care that much about them if I wasn't. Sorry if I offended you before while discussing and doing/reverting changes over and over. I hope we don't have anymore disagreements in the future about this and the Málaga CF article can evolve peacefully. (Mr Wesker (talk) 17:11, 17 April 2009 (UTC))Reply

I have tagged File:Pwrinst2.png as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. feydey (talk) 14:37, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I simply don't understand why are you tagging that image only, and avoid doing the same with the other screen captures used by that article that provide the very exact policy termns. How ilogical and inconsistent from your part, if you mind me to say. (Mr Wesker (talk) 20:37, 16 September 2009 (UTC))Reply

File source problem with File:Phantasy Star Online Ver.2.PNG edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Phantasy Star Online Ver.2.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:52, 5 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock (TALK) 08:52, 5 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Gatrodatitle.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gatrodatitle.png.

You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 00:25, 13 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Alone in the Dark artwork edit

I'm not going to to bother contesting it because it isn't worth my time and patience, but please observe WP:BRD in the future when someone reverts one of your significant changes with an explanation as to why. Simply hitting "undo", making no attempt to address the concerns voiced with your edits either in the edit summary or on a talk page is an exceedingly good way of annoying other editors and starting an edit war. -- Sabre (talk) 11:47, 11 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, that could also be applied to you. Instead of just plain removing it like you are did in the first place, you could have done something useful in then like reusing the artwork in the article. Glad you noticed it in your own. (Mr Wesker (talk) 08:14, 12 May 2010 (UTC))Reply

Regarding your comment with this edit, if all of the previous games have their story sections in their articles taken directly from their instructions manuals, then all of them are copyright violations. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Capcom ingame.PNG edit

Thank you for uploading File:Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Capcom ingame.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Non-free images edit

Non-free images which violate our policy WP:NFCC - as this one does - may be removed at any time by any editor. They should not be re-inserted without a rationale as to how they meet all 10 criteria at WP:NFCC. This particular image fails WP:NFCC#3a - overuse of images, and WP:NFCC#8 - significance. There is no value in having two practically identical non-free images in the article. Do not re-insert the image without justifying its use in the article per the above criteria. Thankyou. Black Kite (t) (c) 22:42, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Until you explain exactly how this image passes all ten criteria of NFCC (which it doesn't), I will continue to remove it. I would point out that removing non-free images that fail our policies is exempt from WP:3RR - re-inserting them is not. If you believe this image is the definitive one, then insert it in the infobox and remove the other one. The article including both is not acceptable.Black Kite (t) (c) 18:13, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • I concur with Black Kite. These images do not both need to be present for the reader to understand what article they have come to. They are redundant to each other. Pick one, and stick with it. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:22, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

AM7 did not make The Revenge of Shinobi edit

It was "Soft 7 division", which was previously "CS2" and later became Overworks. The "AM" divisions only made amusement (arcade) machines, while the "CS" divisions made consumer (console) software. IGN and other sites mislabeled all of the Sega divisions as "AM" divisions, when that's not exactly accurate. Also, CS2/Soft 7 did not work on all of the Shinobi games. reason for you changing the order of the languages? edit

Any reason for this? [1] Dream Focus 16:20, 19 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

It's the usual arranging order which is used for languages in video games. German normally comes before French. Are you bothered about this fact? (Mr Wesker (talk) 18:37, 19 June 2013 (UTC))Reply

Weligton Oliveira edit

Hi there from Portugal,

please my friend, you can say "2-1 loss" you are very right, i know that's very usual in English language, but to say the opposite is not incorrect at all, and i find it much more logical. How do you lose by scoring more goals?

Plus, if you have the words "home" or "away", that would give an indication where the match took place, am i not correct?

Happy editing, happy weekend --AL (talk) 03:05, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

It's not about implying an inconsistency like that of losing by scoring more goals, it's about simply keeping the usual convention of the sport competition results based on the teams playing either home or away. You usually place the home team on the left and the away team on the right, so you can clearly notice at first if this is a home or away defeat, even if you mark it with terms like "home defeat" or "away defeat".
By not following this trend, the way it seems is like Málaga had all defeats at home, when the article mentions several of them which were away (like in Gijón and Almería). It's just as simple as that. I don't understand why all the results have to be "winning team on the left, losing team on the right" when it's not the usual procedure in sport results convention at all.
Kind regards and happy editing and weeking to you too.(Mr Wesker (talk) 16:29, 21 February 2014 (UTC))Reply

I really understand your reasoning, but really there is no room for misunderstandings in my opinion, if the storyline reads "against Sporting de Gijón, in a 1–2 away loss", how will people think they lost AT HOME? Thanks for the kind reply, by the way --AL (talk) 19:21, 21 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I could say the same about yours. Why people needs to follow the "winning team on the left, losing team on the right" result convention when the usual procedure in sports is "home team on the left, away team on the right"? Even if it's specified it's a home or an away match, there could still be some missconception because that's not the usual procedure of sport results. But do as you wish, I'm not bothering to change that any longer. Kind regards.(Mr Wesker (talk) 15:28, 23 February 2014 (UTC))Reply

Reverted Battletoads articles edit

I reverted several of your edits in which you recreated the article in Battletoads (Game Boy) and restored references to it in Battletoads (video game) and Template:Battletoads series. Unless you are planning on performing some major expansion to Battletoads (Game Boy), the article is to be left as a redirect, since the content it featured was merged into Battletoads (video game) in 2013. Please stop reverting my changes unless you can provide a good reason to do so, or I'll have to report you for disruptive editing. --uKER (talk) 04:24, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Battletoads (Game Boy) is 100% different and unrelated to Battletoads (video game). 100% different and unrelated games should be in separate articles. By merging Battletoads (Game Boy) into Battletoads (video game) the ONLY thing you are implying is the fact that the game known as Battletoads (Game Boy) is the Game Boy version of Battletoads (video game) when it's NOT. There's a proper Game Boy version of Battletoads (video game) which was released as Battletoads in Ragnarok's World to disambiguate with Battletoads (Game Boy) and that's the ONLY BATTLETOADS GAME FOR THE GAME BOY which should be referenced in the Battletoads (video game) article. Do you understand that or it's so difficult for you? You are the disruptive editor here, the one who is confusingly mistaking different games which no intention other than making Wikipedia users confused about something as simple as the fact that there are two 100% different and unrelated games so please stop reverting my changes unless you can provide a reason to do (which you don't, since there are any), disruptive editor. (Mr Wesker (talk) 23:35, 17 March 2015 (UTC))Reply
The article was kept merged into the Battletoads article for two years until it came by and nobody complained during that time, so it probably wasn't so bad. The reason for it being kept in the same article is that there was not much to be said about the Gameboy game. If you were planning on expanding the article you could well have said so and spared me from all the fuss, instead of acting like a confrontational child. --uKER (talk) 18:49, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
