Laura Michalek -DYK Comment

Just completed review of Laura Michalek, which I support. A few comments about the article, I would probably remove the w/link to the Missouri Auction School, given by her own comments it was only a nine day course. You also could have mentioned that she only found out she won the race when she was recovering from dehydration in the medical tent. If you could provide an explanation as to why the original first and second place getters were disqualified it would make it even more interesting. Finally the comment about moving to rugby is more significant if you mention she made the U.S. women's all-star team that toured Europe. @Dan arndt: Hi there. In order of your comments:

• Missouri Auction School removal wikilink sure.
• dehydration tent - wouldn't that be non neutral or trivia? What's most important that "Although she originally finished the event in third place" and per below.
• i already provided why they were disqualified: "when the two competitors ahead of her were disqualified for not completing the full marathon"
• Rugby - I haven't found specifically when/which team she made besides the U.S. women's all-star team so I've left it out for the time being. Like yeah an all star team is interesting, but which one? When? Where in Europe? the source is too vague.

all answered. I ran into an edit conflict when i was writing the last two when you bolded the items in the nomination. Could I suggest not doing that in the future? Only reason is to prevent a conflict of interest of having a creator of an article edit a nominations reveiw. To me, it doesn't look good. Normally, once a reviewer OKs the article, they simply change everything to green checks so that the DYK person can easily see that the article issues have been resolved. I don't think that preserving the old x's is useful, once everything is resolved. I think it just makes the DYK editor's job more difficult.-- Ssilvers (talk) 17:37, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Date formats

Please start to respect date formats of articles you're editing. In other words, today is not August 6th, it would either be August 6 (if the article's date format is mdy) or 6 August (if the article's if dmy). See MOS:DATE and the subsequent sub-sections. "Is My Living in Vain"

You are right about the song not charting on the gospel songs chart, on account of such a chart not existing in 1980... I think the author is confusing the song with the album of the same name, which did reach no. 1 on the Gospel Albums chart. I don't believe the song is notable, but the album might be, and perhaps the article should be changed to reflect the album instead. I've tried speaking to the article creator about it, but he hasn't answered me, and he has a history of creating dubious articles, unfortunately. Richard3120 (talk) 15:05, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Not "cleanup" or "correction"

Regarding this edit you made, you disregarding the source I provided for the new Canadian peak of the album is not "cleaning" anything up, nor is it a "correction". If anything, you should be aware that Billboard single chart and album chart templates alike do not use album=/song= parameters, as Billboard doesn't archive chart data based on titles, so that was entirely redundant to add. Please also try not to disregard reliable sources provided for new peaks. Thanks. Ss112 15:06, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

@Ss112: The correction I was referring to that it was pointing to the wrong peak at the time I was editing it. I presume between my edit and your edit it went up to #7 which I don't mind reverting. In terms of cleanup, the article was in the Pages using album chart with unknown parameters at the time I changed the url to remove this error category. Again, I don't mind changing it back since both issues have been resolved in further edits since I last visited the page. --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 22:59, 3 September 2019 (UTC)

Erm, no, at the time I updated it, I added a new URL pointing to the Canadian industry website FYIMusicNews, which publishes the Canadian Albums Chart in advance. As you can see here, I added an |M after the peak, which adds a manual override to point to the URL I added, which clearly shows the album at number 7. It showed that at the time I did it; I did not add it in advance. Please visit the link I provided, or go down and test the link in that version of the page—it still works. I presume the "error" showing up was that I added work with no value or equals sign after it, but there was nothing wrong with the peak or the source I added because regardless of that, the link still worked fine. AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

Canadian Ski Hall of Fame

Hi.

Thanks for your edits at the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame article cleaning things up. I noticed that you removed Melanie Turgeon. I did my own poking around the HOF web site and agree that I cannot find any record of her induiction into the HOF there. However, reliable sources reported on her being inducted like this Globe and Mail article. It might be that the HOF web site is just not correct? Do you have any idea? Discussion involving Billboard's chart archives going missing?

Hey MrLinkinPark333, I'm quite sure you were part of a discussion on a WikiProject talk or some other talk page with various other users in the past several months about Billboard deleting a lot of their chart information on artist chart history pages (for example, https://www.billboard.com/music/adele/chart-history/hot-100, even though that still works). However, I can't remember where it took place. Do you remember? I was going to alert all those involved that Billboard may be doing it again, perhaps in conjunction with their recent paywall; for instance, earlier today https://www.billboard.com/music/lewis-capaldi/chart-history/hot-100 showed a peak, now there's nothing.
