Edit summaries needed edit

Hi I've noticed a few of your edits and I'm uncertain as to accuracy. For example this edit appears partly correct and partly incorrect after I read the source. Edit summaries are needed and if you're working from another source then you need to provide that source - otherwise others will check the source that is already there and conclude you are incorrect. Thanks. Invasive Spices (talk) 18:13, 8 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Im updating taxonomic information on Wikipedia. A lot of it is outdated. Sorry for not sourcing. Monserrrr (talk) 19:39, 8 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Please use edit summaries. I've seen you working on the List of mammals of ... series and I can't tell why you are making some changes. Edit summaries are part of how Wikipedians communicate and know what is a good change and what is vandalism. Thank you. SchreiberBike | ⌨  03:22, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Apologies, I still need to form that habit Monserrrr (talk) 03:35, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Keep up the good work. SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:12, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

WP:NOTBROKEN edit

Please stop making changes such as this one per WP:NOTBROKEN. Both taxonomy terms are widely used. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:20, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Going off ASM ([1]). Even if both are used, then my edits should not matter. Monserrrr (talk) 01:23, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Once again, read WP:NOTBROKEN. The edits you are making are disruptive and you will be blocked if you continue. OhNoitsJamie Talk 01:34, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fine. I'll change others which aren't debated. Monserrrr (talk) 01:35, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

WP:NOTBROKEN (x2) edit

As User:Ohnoitsjamie said, you are still making edits such as this and this (amongst many others) which are contrary to the principles outlined at WP:NOTBROKEN and which are disruptive.

The edits are NOT disruptive, and the eastern and red wolves have been split off as their own species for a while now. I am updating the taxonomies on these pages. Monserrrr (talk) 14:24, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
In both those cases, we have sources that indicate that both are used. Unless you have good sourcing that establishes that is no longer the case, you need to stop making these changes or else you will be blocked from editing. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:05, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Define "good sourcing". Don't be vague. Monserrrr (talk) 15:06, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
A reliable source that indicates that the name you are changing it to is the only one in use; it should reflect what's on the target page for the organism as well. You're making plenty of other good edits; stick to those, and stop removing synonyms without providing a reason.OhNoitsJamie Talk 17:20, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'll add sources from here on out. I believe ASM is a good enough source Monserrrr (talk) 17:28, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
For cases where there is disputed nomenclature, it's not sufficient to include a source from one side and declare that to be canon. For any cases where multiple names are still in use, I highly suggest you leave them alone. There are plenty of other edits you can make that won't result in you getting blocked. OhNoitsJamie Talk 20:49, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
You must agree that the red wolf's taxonomy has had consensus reached, no? I believe you saw the discussion I linked in my edit summary. Monserrrr (talk) 21:16, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
