Deletion of page "UrgentRx"

I am looking to create a page for the company "UrgentRx" and noticed their previous page had been deleted by you. Reasons for deletion seemed to be concerns over legitimacy. The company and products are indeed legitimate, sold nationwide, and have been mentioned in The New York Times [1], Consumer Reports [2], The Wall Street Journal [3], CNBC [4], among many others. After reviewing the discussion, I don't believe there was enough reason to delete the page to begin with. Within just the last few days, the former CEO of Emergen-C has also joined the Board of Directors at UrgentRx [5]. Much appreciated! Yeah, things are going well here, getting some good work done. I'm trying to get each and every radio station article updated and sourced, at least in Virginia and West Virginia (maybe Maryland too). So far I have one GA, one C class, one B class (the one you just did) and one under GA review now (hoping to have that promoted later today). Thank you for the edit on Gianni Nunnari. Long story short, the article was started by someone whom I believe is a representative for Nunnari, as the page was exceptionally promotional/puffy in tone. I managed to save it from deletion, but as I edited it I noticed that there was a lot of bad press for him in various outlets, which wasn't in the original article contents. I've been expecting some vandalism on the page and I'm expecting even more over time, so if you could keep an eye on the article I'd appreciate it. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:17, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of Xanadu Range

Dear admin; this page was deleted from Wikipedia resulting in local anger in the City of Kimberley BC. This page was created to recognize the mountain range north and adjacent to Kimberley, to encourage outdoor recreation in the area. We have contacted the BC Ministry of Natural Resources to try and legally create this area for outdoor ed, but due to the administration costs and recent Provincial budget cuts there were unable to process our request. Please re-activate this page. Our goal is to have this mountain range be added onto Google Earth for better orienteering in the region. The article is improved from the version that was deleted, and more referencing certainly helps. What would help the article is more sourcing - demonstrated coverage in a reliable third party source (i.e. something more than a company blurb). Wikipedia:Articles for deletion

Hello. I noticed that you marked the articles as "keep", but vote shows the result: 5 for delete/redirect/merge (users: Subtropical-man, Joy, Eleassar, Adam Cuerden, Stepojevac) vs 4 for keep (Lugnuts as author, Cirt, Sportfan5000, Stalwart111). So, option of "delete/redirect/merge" win. Of course, I understand - we need for a greater difference in votes than one, but this can not be determined as "The result was keep". This is a complete mistake. The correct description is "no consensus". Hello Subtropical-man, and thank you for your comments. AfD is a discussion; it's not about winning and it's not about voting. I believe my closure closely reflected the consensus of the discussion. Logging it as a "keep" closure is a bit simplistic, but there is really no practical difference between logging it as "keep" or "no consensus". To get the accurate understanding of the discussion, you have to read it and the full closing. This changes the state of affairs. One example of why this is important: some user read article of LGBT history in Malta. This article is only one sentence, pseudo-stub. User will want to remove the article but article has been incorrectly marked as "This page was nominated for deletion on 14 February 2014. The result of the discussion was keep". If there was a consensus for keep, does not make sense to discuss again because consensus is consensus. But, there is not consensus, page was wrongly marked. If page was marked as "This page was nominated for deletion on 14 February 2014. The result of the discussion was no consensus", user sees chance for further discussion. Pages was wrongly marked. Your designations are misleading. What? "keep/redirect/merge"? Nonsense. "Keep" means leaving the article; "redirect" means the removal content of the article (title exist only as link); "merge" is also means the removal of the article (move contents to other articles). There is no such option as "keep/redirect/merge". Most of AfD pages show clearly: remove/redirect/merge are three options about delete of article. PS. Hi ClaireG2014. Wikipedia doesn't really have a formal approval process. Things work by consensus, and any article can generally be improved or challenged by anyone. The only thing I did with the VAIS article was to list it within the Virginia WP:Wikiproject, and I will do the same for the Westminster article. However, all that really does is to identify articles that may be of interest to Virginia editors.

I just took a look at the version that was deleted, and it was basically one sentence of prose (and that one line is outdated now). There's nothing worth using for a merge. Have I fixed everything that you felt needed fixing? I'm just curious as I believe I have completed Finetooth's part of the PR and Hamiltonstone has been out of contact for two days, but that one was winding down.
I know it feels like I am rushing, but I'm trying to get everything done (FAC included) before mid-May when I am getting carpal tunnel surgery done. Hi. Thankyou for pointing out the Talk page of deleted page. I wanted to create a new version of the page as I am a fan and they have got some recognition as being played by BBC Radio as well as writing the first song according to 3D Print.com[1] about actually printing 3D humans (sounds a bit science fiction but there's a first anyway). I drafted a page as recommended by another Administrator for view and approval first and would be happy for you to have a look. I don't know what was on the original pages but just thought I'd check them here after listening to them on BBC[2] (they are sixth on the playlist. I've Googled them and they come up consistently on the first few pages. Do you have any objections to taking a look at the draft article and making some suggestions? Hello Hyej. The deletion occurred after a discussion with pretty overwhelming consensus that the article did not meet the notability guidelines. However, the best way to demonstrate notability is by showing that the subject has received significant coverage in reliable sources. Being discussed in third party sources is the best way to show notability, but lusaka voice appears to allow user generated content and is would therefore not be a reliable source. Hi Magnolia677. That was poor wording on my part. We certainly can have single sentence paragraphs in the lead, and we often do in short articles and stubs. However, as the article develops, we do want to develop full paragraphs in the lead. In the case of Augusta County, Virginia, I thought the lead was sufficiently developed that we didn't want to go back to single sentence paragraphs. Also, I thought the two sentences were reasonably connected to be in one paragraph. Deletion of page TBCImprov

Hello,

First, I feel it is important to mention that I am fairly new to making edits on Wikipedia and have a slight conflict of interest with the article, in that I'm a member of the theatre company it is for. Furthermore, when the page was flagged for deletion, I feel I may have incorrectly formatted my response and so the reason it was being created not immediately apparent.

The Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_improvisational_theatre_companies correctly lists "To Be Continued..." (also known as TBCImprov) as among improv theatre companies in the UK. Unfortunately, the entry is erroneously linked to an article about a Hong Kong music album. My intent was simply to have this article link to something more accurate.

I must say too that, no sooner had I created the article and tried to understand the tools, the article was flagged for deletion. Went to bed on it and woke up to it being deleted; you guys work fast :P

As you may imagine, we get a lot of potential new articles here, so we have to stay on top of it. Accordingly, I generally recommend that new users use the draft area (Help:Userspace draft), so they have some space and avoid the hubbub of the live encyclopedia area. I should also note that Wikipedia does discourage writing or editing articles where you have a conflict of interest. William McBride Private

Hi, I've been working with a group of students in UCD working on Irish historical figures associated with WWI as part of outreach work with Wikimedia Community Ireland. I saw this article earlier, and while it was not without it's issues (they are all brand new editors), the subject is actually a relatively well known figure in the British Isles. @Smirkybec: I would love to help the group if I can. For new editors, I strongly recommend starting an article in userspace, so they have an opportunity to work on it and get input before being subject to the harsher environment of the live encyclopedia. Also, as I look at the information on William McBride, it seems like he is mostly notable because of the song. As far as I know they had done that, but they were working to a deadline so may have published a little prematurely. As far as I know they had found out more concrete details about him, they just might need a little help in citing it properly etc. Given the detail they've found I think he could justify his own article rather than just being a subsection within the song article. As part of the centenary celebrations, it's likely he will become more notable as his anniversary appears - could make a good DYK in the future. I'm worried they might get very disheartened after all the deletions! Not great for fostering a few new Irish Wikipedians (they are in very short supply!). Please reconsider the redirection, since the band is notable in its own right, as referenced to the initially cited profile from canadianbands.com, plus other citations, should you search the band's name. The page was in the process of development, and so indicated.

I have no objection, if you think you can build a case for the band's independent notability. However, you will probably need at least two good sources (and I'm not sure canadianbands.com qualifies as a reliable source) - see WP:BAND. If I enter Talk: United states, it takes me to an empty talk page which is associated with the mixed-case redirect. It doesn't take me to Talk: United States, which is where I had wanted to go. I am requesting that the empty talk page be speedy-deleted so that I can go to the real talk page. Is there some other way that I can avoid this glitch? The United States WikiProject previously had a tag on Talk:United states to note the redirect, so it wasn't quite completely empty. However, it had very little (or possibly no) value that way, so having it redirect directly to Talk:United States maybe a better alternative - if that's what you were looking for.
