The wiki project of Australia requires all place names to be place name, state. All article links have been diverted and the content moved. Some editors had a redirect on the proper page. I was not sure of which delete commands to use. Please advise. Blank articles have been deleted for me in the past. Mmunji1 (talk) 12:09, 2 April 2016 (UTC)
Simple, create a redirect page instead - check my edit. If only your assertion about state name was true. Much blood has been spilt over WP:PRIMACY and other weird beasts that create single name location names with no state qualifiers. Be very careful about cut and paste. Keep up the good work. - it might be easier to say - have a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingston_Beach,_Tasmania - it was reference free and in the cleanup listing - and see the history of what got added. It is very important for an article to have information than can be sourced/referenced - as text with nothing to verify can be considered WP:OR and can be removed as that. Anecdotal material cannot be left in articles unless there is a WP:CITE or WP:RS. (have a close look at Trove is my suggestion) Keep up the good work!!! JarrahTree 13:38, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Hi I note you have created this category Category:Suburbs of West Coast, Tasmania. However none of these would be counted as suburbs. They could be termed settlements, inhabited locations, localities. Many of these are now deserted so could not be called towns or villages any more. - Having lived in one of the suburbs, and created most of the articles incorporated, I strongly object to the category, rather than individually remove all items from the category - I have taken the category to CFD/rename, with the suggestion of the term community and have given the reasoning there. DO NOT keep creating new categories containing the word "suburbs", or adding pages to these categories until the discussions about their names are resolved. Wikipedia relies on consensus to make decisions on what to do. When it becomes apparent that your edits are controversial you must stop and talk about them. Warning edit
You have spent the last couple of days adding a type of listing that has not been resolved.
You should try to request an uninterested or uninvolved admin somewhere to specifically review the issues, or take the issue to be resolved at a higher level (if you dont know the process, ask, look around), rather than create further categories which are not in WP:AGF. As there has been such a hiatus, the issue is now being raised at the Australian noticeboard.
WP:CIVILITY AND WP:AGF are strongly advised, as WP:PA simply weakens any possibility of your case being heard. The best way to further your cause is to show consistent usage of the word suburb for all localities in another state of australia.
When an admin like Graham Bartlett reverts your usage - and your WP:EDITWAR by calling his reverts WP:VANDALISM it further weakens your case.
Understand that on the mainland the issue of terminology was established and determined years ago and has been in place with consistency. For you to create a whole state of suburbs is WP:OR and not backed up in any of the mainland usages.
Note that in the early stage of your limited response to messages you had a notion of you have to live here to edit about argument. Most of wikipedia would have never been written if that is the case, it is not in any sense a condition of editing.
Please understand that when standards are established, consistency - in Australia, is an important part of how the whole of wikipedia works. Consistency of terms like suburb and locality is essential. Creating a whole new set of terms that no one else uses is disruptive, and not what wikipedia is WP:ABOUT JarrahTree 01:42, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

I have proven the use of suburbs on the Mainland and am being consistent.
It is Graeme's conduct that should be reviewed. It does say that categories should not be emptied.

General editing conduct when something is under review - is in WP:AGF to stop until all of it is resolved.
You have proved nothing. You have not provided a consisten usage of the the word 'suburb' for a whole state on the mainland, and to talk about a source as higher or respect, is not the same as a very specific WP:RS or exact link.

- wikipedia is a collaborative environment, and if you cannot handle a few comments and call them harassment, that is your call.
some times discussions on wikipedia are required to resolve issues, if simply raising some points and templating each other, is not going to resolve the issue, maybe we should drop them now and find a solution to your creations.
What you have done in your 'suburbs of tasmania' may well be legitimate in your eyes, and it may well be well reasoned, the problem is there is nothing to qualify the usage either on the main space part of the category pages for a user to understand what you have done. To go back to the original notice from queenstown suburbs is well beyond it now. To simply state 'higher' and respected' is not the way to resolve an issue on wikipedia. what you could have done would be to simply replicated the abs reasoning, so one could see that suburbs in tasmania dont actually exist - they are a statistical construct by the abs, and that in the strictest sense it is a dangerous notion to apply to categories - as the categories usually refer an abs construct, not what is on the ground - it is a hypithetical statistical construct. which is why the original category challenge was created - queenstown and the west coast localities are not 'suburbs' in reality - only in abs terms.
Which is why I stand by my original issue - these are all 'statisitical' entities and as such are of no practical usage to wikipedia as it stands - unless you have the editorial sense to go to each category you have created and leave a link to the specific abs web page that explains the 'constructs' and outside would think that the town, locacility, 2 horse settlement is in fact a 'suburb' as is used colloquially on the mainland - a part of a metro area. - I have changed one of your categories to Category:Localities of Central Coast, Tasmania, as I have managed to beat the deletion / rename nomination. Really none of those regional area categories should be called suburbs, just because the ABS uses the term. The idea is for the category to be useful and use a name that others would identify with. Your idea to categorise by the LGA is a good idea. But if someone saw Suburbs of Central Coast, Tasmania, they are not going to expect to see the villages and towns in that council are they? So that is why I think "localities" is a better term. Not only does the Australian Bureau of Statistics use the term suburbs, so does Australia Post. Your term villages is used differently in Tasmania, mainly referring to shopping areas within a suburb. A have many examples. The term community is a better term than village. Suburbs is a term for all entities within a local government area.Mmunji1 (talk) 01:03, 29 May 2016 (UTC)
