Hello MissEnoshima, welcome to Wikipedia. The {{edit semi-protected}} template that you put on this page asks another editor to come along and make a specific edit for you on a page you cannot edit yourself. There's no need to put it on your own pages, as you are free to edit them yourself. Best, --Stfg (talk) 11:26, 9 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Setting your sandbox so that only you can edit it edit

I shouldn't worry about it -- it's unlikely that anyone will edit your sandbox unless you use it for some very evil purpose. If you're really worried, though, you can ask an administrator. The way to do that is to copy the following text on to your talk page:
== Question for administrator ==
{{admin help}}
I would like my sandbox to be semi-protected please. --~~~~
and someone will be along to do it. Cheers, --Stfg (talk) 23:32, 9 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:MissEnoshima/sandbox edit

A tag has been placed on User:MissEnoshima/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. June 2014 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from User:MissEnoshima/sandbox, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for are clearly not here to build an encyclopedia because you are using Wikipedia to play fantasy online reality game shows. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 09:16, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Um well first of all i'd like to say i'm pretty new and don't understand a lot of this wikipedia stuff other than the basics but anyway, its my sandbox, I should be able to put whatever I want to put in *~My~* Sandbox, Second of all, I actually do edit wikipedias, not including my own, I'm not playing any fantasy reality show or whatever you're trying to say, I'm making charts that I screen (not give the link) and show people that I want to show and it's good notice for when I'm actually editing the real chart. Also, I'm the only person that looks at my wikipedia page anyway, so I don't see how this is such a problem. Its basically my profile and i'm being blocked for putting stuff I want to put on again i stress this //////my////// Profile, That no one will even look at, other than myself.

Decline reason:

It's not *your* sandbox. It's a Wikipedia page, and every page on Wikipedia is public; there are no private pages on Wikipedia. --jpgordon::==( o ) 22:53, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Um yes it is my sandbox, "MissEnoshimas Sandbox", Anyway, i doubt someone will google "MissEnoshimas sandbox" or whatever so yeah.. and blocking me forever is completely unnecessary for something that I wasn't even aware of until I was banned. So not only can I not edit *My* own sandbox (which I don't even consider a wikipedia page since its *my* edits, and *my* sandbox) I can't edit anything because I'm permanently blocked for editing *my* sandbox.

No. It is the sandbox associated with your account, certainly. But you don't have any special rights over it, certainly nothing verging on ownership or even control. Any editor can edit it -- you can't stop them -- and anybody in the world can read it. --jpgordon::==( o ) 01:41, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Ok then I won't use the sandbox? I'd rather have a blank sandbox then being IP banned permanently for something, again, I wasn't even aware of until I was banned. This is actually one of the most stupid reasons for a permanent banning I've seen because i'm not vandalizing anything or "breaking" any rule or anything that's even remotely bad. Anyway, I actually use wikipedia a lot whether I edit it or not so If i want to add something important to a page that I feel needs I'd like to have that ability to do that. And i'm still new to the whole editing thing so a notice before a permanent banning would have been nice too but whatever.

Decline reason:

You seem to be under the impression that Wikipedia offers free webhosting. That is not the case. You've been here since 2013 and have yet to contribute anything, hence the WP:NOTHERE rationale for your block. OhNoitsJamie Talk 03:26, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

In a somewhat relatable question, Can't I just put what I had on my sandbox on my userpage..? (I just realized I had one, but yeah) If not i don't really care, i'd rather just be unblocked.

Since I've just dealt with the unblock request, I figure I may as well field this one too; the answer is an emphatic no. What you had in your sandbox is not suitable for any page, anywhere on Wikipedia. Nothing against the actual content, it's just not what the site is here for. You could always use the Wikimedia software to create your own wiki, on which you can do as you wish, but Wikipedia won't host that sort of thing for you. Yunshui  13:14, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Um i'm not acting in any way that this Wikipedia overs free webhosting. Anyway, late 2013 is still kind of new but alright. And that's still no reason to permanently IP ban me without any warning at all, when I said I wouldn't use my sandbox for "Online fantasy reality games" or whatever which seems to be the only reason why i'm permanently blocked (which I find quite stupid still) and again, I use wikipedia a lot whether I'm editing or not.

Decline reason:

Your account (and its related userpages, sandbox included) is provided so that you can help to improve Wikipedia. To date, there is no evidence from your edits that you have any intention of doing that, and as Boing! explains below, you do not therefore need an account. If you genuinely want to help improve Wikipedia, then in order to be unblocked you will need to state in your unblock request what you intend to edit in the future. You don't have to be hugely precise (we don't need a comprehensive list of all the article you intend to work on and the specific edits you want to make to them), but you do need to give us an idea of what areas you plan on working in and what you intend to do in them. Be honest, both with us and with yourself - if you truly only want to create a sandbox page to play fantasy murdergames with your friends, then this isn't the right place for you, and you'll need to accept that and move on. • The thing is, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and user accounts are only for people who wish to help us build that encyclopedia - it's not like Facebook and similar sites that provide space for people to do essentially what they like. And once someone does decide to help us, their user space is for use to support their work on the encyclopedia. So if you're not here to actually help us in our task, then you don't need an account and you don't need any user space. Now, looking back over your contributions since you registered in November, I see you have done... precisely nothing to help us build the encyclopedia. All you have done is use your user space for your own personal things which are not related to helping us build the encyclopedia.

    Here's what I'd suggest you do...

    If you wish to work on the encyclopedia, explain what work you plan to do.

    If you don't want to actually do any constructive work, go find somewhere else on the web to do your own personal stuff.

Request reason:

Well again, I was clearly unaware about the whole sandbox thing until I was blocked, and I said I wouldn't use my sandbox for "fantasy murder games" (which i've said I wouldn't in all my unlock requests) but whatever i guess..? And I obviously do want to if I have like 4 unblock requests on my talkpage, If I cared that much about making "online fantasy games" then I'd make my own wikia and If I do put that on my sandbox again I can just easily be blocked again. Uhm I thought it was obvious what i'd edit if I was unblocked but Reality/Movie pages with little explanation and lack of information in summary and/or wrong information mainly.

Decline reason:

This is not an unblock request and unblock requests are not to be used to make statements/replies. Please read WP:GAB and WP:AAB prior to trying further the panda ₯’ 19:27, 2 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
