GOCE July 2012 Copy Edit Drive
Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their July 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on July 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on July 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to eliminate the articles tagged in April, May and June 2011 from the queue and to complete all requests placed before the end of June. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 6 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in April–June 2011", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa and Stfg. To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. International relations naming conventions
I noticed your edit here and then got pulled into this naming convention issue that seems to have arisen. According to Wikipedia:WikiProject International relations#Embassy naming conventions, the convention is {country adjective} {type of mission}, {name of city} yet, as you brought up, there are different conventions at Category:Diplomatic missions of Germany and other places (such as WP:OTTAWA, where I am involved). Many of these "incorrectly" (according to WP:INTR) named articles were moved by a blocked user without consensus, as far as I can tell. You are doing a lot with the foreign relations articles, so I figured I would see what your opinion was about all of this. Should the guideline at WP:INTR be revised? Should it be used, and all offending articles should once again be removed? I have a feeling this will be a project for the INTR members, even though the project hasn't done anything so far. Thanks for your input. "Pepper" @ 18:11, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- I must admit that I did not have a look at any of the existing codified conventions as mentioned in the WP:INTR project page. What I did notice is that Category:Diplomatic missions of Germany has some different conventions as you mention. Only the pages of the missions in Ottawa, St. Petersburg and Chennai were out of convention with the rest, and I figured it'd be simpler to move these three to conform to the rest. Now that you mention it, I had a look at Category:Diplomatic missions of the United States and Category:Diplomatic missions of Canada and I see that confusion exists there as well. I think we should make one convention and stick to it everywhere. I prefer {type of mission} {country name}, {name of city} because this gives a chance to mention the proper name of the country instead of using (sometimes) confusing country adjectives like "Dutch" or "Chinese". This might lead to bulkier titles sometimes, but I prefer clarity at the expense of conciseness. Although, as you say, I doubt the INTR project will notice if its brought up on their talk page. Lynch7 18:34, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
- Either way, I'm going to bring it up there (at some point in the future). I agree with your preferred title, especially as that is what many of the articles are already named as. "Pepper" @ 19:55, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

- I don't think there is anything specifically prohibiting non-admin closures, but I think NACs are not advisable in most cases. Only if there is something absolutely wrong with the request (like someone asking for unprotection of the main page, or an obviously misguided request) should a NAC be appropriate. This is content, notable and cited, surely not appropriate to delete. If you know where else it should go, why not put it there? If you don't, why not leave it alone? HEllo sir, nice to see a sanskrit administrator. Is there any criteria to become an administrator on wikipedia. Can you help me because i am new and confused about editing sometimes. Zeeyanketu (talk) 23:29, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Why thank you for the tea Sir! Well, yeah there are some criteria to become an administrator; typically, if you contribute good content for around a year, and you're good with interactions with other editors, you can apply for administrator.
- But, for a majority of good work, you do not need to be an administrator or anything. Just click the edit button and keep on editing! Its usual for people to take some time to understand the processes we follow over here; I was like that when I started editing. Don't worry, we're all usually nice people, though sometimes we may seem harsh! If you communicate clearly, then there won't be many problems. Rajesh Khanna
one correction needs to be made in that which is he has acted in 180 films - its break up is 163 feature films and 17 short films. Issue is presently the wiki articles presents it as if 17 short films are included in 163 films itself. His 128 films as the lead protagonist includes 106 solo hero films and 22 two hero projects.Onceshook1 (talk) 09:38, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have made a modification in the lead to imply that the 17 short films are not included in the 163. The one-hero and two-hero breakup is unnecessary detail for the lead; you can present it in an inner section if you wish. Lynch7 09:42, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Dontyou think that the lines "Khanna was awarded Filmfare Special Award in 1991 for having starred in 101 films as the solo lead hero and just 21 two hero films in short span of 25 years. Khanna gave 35 Golden Jubilee Hits in period 1967-1975 and 3 in 1976-78 and 35 more in 1979-1991 and gave 22 Silver Jubilee Hits in period 1966-1991.By 2011, he held record for the Hindi actor with most number of author backed lead hero films - 106 solo hero films and having done only 22 two hero films" should appear in first para instaed of appearing below in th esection 1976-1991.Onceshook1 (talk) 09:43, 18 July 2012 (UTC)Am shifting it to first para and adding one more reference to back the record of solo number films.Onceshook1 (talk) 09:54, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

In 169-1975 section - images from films like Aap Ki Kasam, Prem Kahani or Mehboob Ki Mehendi can be put and for 1979-1991 section - images from Kudrat or Rajput or Souten can be put. And for 1976-78, his image from Chhailla Babu can be put. For cover photo image from Mere Jeevan Sathi or Aradhana can be put.
