Hello MiguelNS! I have never eard of a Luso-Islamic War! That does not mean it did not exist, of course. Is this a reference to the campaignes of Afonso de Albuquerque? This article has nothing writen on it! You are the sole responsable for creating it. A war that happened in the Atlantic Ocean (West Africa) and in the Indian Ocean (India, East Indies, Indochina)?!? And Portugal and the Kingdom of Cochin were allies in all these stages of war the whole time? And this lead to the formation of the Portuguese Empire? This can not be! Luso-Islamic War - proposed deletion edit
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Luso-Islamic War, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. Biafra edit
Miguel,
Does the entry on the Nigerian Civil War need any of your 'See Also' material?
Katanga has no relationship to Biafra. If you feel it has relevance as a secessionist state, surely that would be better under the general Biafra entry?
The Unholy Alliance also doesn't seem to be of much use to the Biafran Civil War.
The list of extinct states again seems better in the Biafra entry than the Nigerian Civil War.

Why is The Unholy Alliance important? It doesn't seem to have any relevance to the Nigerian civil war - it looks to be more a Southern Africa issue, which just happened to be commonly used around the time of the war.
Similarly, the list of secessionist states would seem to better in the Biafra entry than the civil war entry. A list of civil wars would make more sense for the civil war entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bendel boy (talk • contribs) 10:40, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't see where there are sources that describe the enties in this category as "Realist think tanks". Whose judgment are we using for including articles in that category? Categorziations should be verifiable, like anything else on Wikipedia. Will Beback talk 23:38, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Al-Shabab al-Muminin and Houthis edit
Hey MiguelNS, I'm happy you're interested in editing Houthi-related articles, as these need as much help as we can get. However, the article you just created (Al-Shabab al-Muminin) appears to describe the same group as Houthis. Previously we had an article entitled Shabab al-Muomineen (just a different Arabic transliteration), but because the term "Houthis" is much more commonly used, we decided to merge any relevant info into the Houthis article and make the Shabab al-Muomineen article a simple redirect. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. Introduction to contentious topics edit
You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations.
