2008 Italian Grand Prix

Hey Diniz. If you have a minute could you please take a look at the above article which I have just rewritten? My grammar has been a little clumsy lately (don't know why), particularly in the 'Background' section. Also, if I'm missing something important from the article. I knew I recognised the 4 wins and Campos from somewhere, what with Pérez winning 4 races in British F3 in the season just finished. I'll say thanks for correcting my errors on the Fabrizio Crestani page, and sorry about the newsletter error. Wasn't aware of how many of the |}'s to add at the bottom. Regards. I'm trying to work up the enthusiasm to check all the links to Formula 3000 and change the appropriate ones to link to International Formula 3000 instead so that we can move Formula 3000 (disambiguation) to Formula 3000, per Talk:International_Formula_3000#Proposed_split. Category:International F3000 drivers

I was going to comment about something related to the GP2 Asia Series, but realised that it was already there. Then I noticed the F3000 merge idea, and noticed the category had yet to be created. So yeah, that's how I started it. Done most of the first half of drivers that have an article. Cs-wolves(talk) 16:59, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh, looks like I was beaten to the standings so cheers for that. Entry list is here, in case you want to add that. Regards. Cs-wolves(talk) 17:31, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

2008 Japanese Grand Prix

I have just 'finished' writing the above race report (yes, I really am that quick). If you've got a mo, could you check it out? I'm quite confident in my writing this time. I realised while writing it what a great race it was, certainly the best dry race of the year. Hope I got that across! Thanks in advance, Apterygial 05:17, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll admit I haven't been enormously faithful to D.M.N.'s idea of all FAs; at this point Italy and Brazil I'll just get to GA, but Japan is going to FA. I'm perhaps a little overconfident in it, but I think that it's a great article (I'm modest too!). If you need copyediting help with anything in return, I'm only to happy to give it. Portal

Woddup, Diniz? I'd like your opinion on a raft of ideas about a portal revamp at Portal talk:Formula One#All of Apterygial's big ideas, in one small section. You seem to be the only one really maintaining the portal to this point, so I would value your input. Apterygial 11:28, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Lola T93/30

You've done a great job on that article, well done. I think you have a good chance of getting that to GA - you're lucky Autosport had a feature on it! Although not really relevant as such, what were the other few crappy cars that Autosport named?

Also, on a final note, when will your hands be able to grab hold of the 1995-96 Autocourse again (you could guess why I'm asking!). Thanks, D.M.N. (talk) 21:44, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Ah, OK. No worries. =) D.M.N. (talk) 14:31, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Just letting you know I've begun expanding the 1995 European Grand Prix article, at the moment just using internet sources. I won't put it up for GA/FA or PR until I've finished, and until there are some Autocourse refs in there from the European section, as there's probably a bit more info in the book about the race. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 21:56, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
You could do... as long as it doesn't "interfere" much in your RL University stuff. ;) Yeah, I noticed it was on there... unfortunately it isn't the "raw" BBC F1 coverage... but at least its the BBC F1 commentary. I'll probably watch it at some point. D.M.N. (talk) 19:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
Just letting you know I'm now in the middle of downloading the Q2 session from Europe 1995 having requested for it on an F1 video site. The coverage is Eurosport. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 21:34, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Re:Congratulations

Thanks. The reviewer suggested I try for FA, and then I pointed out that we had both nominated the current bottom two on the FAC page... Apterygial 23:22, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

More portal

Have a look at the portal if you haven't recently. I've just added a few randomised sections, renamed and formatted the usual selected article section, changed the picture for the intro, removed the DYKs, shortened the news, and I think I removed something else too...

I might need your help with the DYKs. None of them are referenced. I really think that they should refer to facts found in our articles, just like the main page DYKs do. Maybe we should start over with them.

Finally, I'd like to see if we can get the colours sorted out. I tested my suggestion on the portal and it looks horrible, but I still don't really like the current colour. Any ideas? (Oh, and I got the edit tabs and the table of contents back on the portal talk page). Apterygial 04:59, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Ooh. Shiny! Thanks.
I've tried before with putting notices at WT:F1 about stuff (I still haven't got any pictures from people), but it gets swallowed up by the next section and I don't get any replies... But if we could get people to give us their main page DYKs (I think The359 has a few) that could be a good start. BTW, I've got (yet another) proposal on the portal talk, and your input there could be good. After a bit of banging around in the dark, I also set up the portal to get automatic updates from Wikinews. Apterygial 22:57, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
How'd do like these colours? Restrained. Non-biased. Calvin Klein. ;) Apterygial 04:22, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Question

I've just noticed while working on the 1995 race articles that in the 1995 Japan and 1995 Pacific FA's there is no mention whatsoever of how the qualifying system works for 1995. I'm not really wanting to be bold and insert something like that in an FA if it sounds grammatically "crap". Does this sound good (prose wise) to insert into the "Practice and qualifying" session:

The qualifying session was split into two one-hour sessions; the first was held on Friday afternoon and the second on Saturday afternoon. The fastest time from either sessions would count towards their final grid position.

I dunno how that sounds... I think the last sentence needs to be reworded a bit. Thoughts? D.M.N. (talk) 17:48, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

The qualifying session was split into two one-hour sessions; the first was held on Friday afternoon with the second held on Saturday afternoon. The fastest time from either sessions counted towards their final grid position.

Think that's better. :) BTW, the video of Europe 1995 full race on YouTube appears to have been removed... I can't find it now. :( D.M.N. (talk) 21:15, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Ah, KK. I know a "certain site" where you can get the full races (and qualifyings) anyway, so it's no biggie. That's how I used the BBC race as a source in the Pacific article. ;) D.M.N. (talk) 21:24, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

2008 Chinese Grand Prix

It's that time again! I've been working on this exceptionally boring race, and was wondering if you'd like to give it a copy edit before I take it to PR. I've adopted a slightly different style of writing the race after Japan's horrific FAC. Apterygial 11:31, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I added a bit on that weird mistake by McLaren. I'm back to uni in a couple of weeks, and I'm just trying to get more writing done now here before I have to concentrate of real life. Apterygial 00:32, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

2008 Bahrain Grand Prix

Wow, everyone's asking for help. If you've got a mo, could you take a look at Bahrain. If the 'Race' section looks a little short... well, that's because nothing really happened. BTW, I feel this editing relationship is very "take take take" from me, so if you need a hand with anything, don't hesitate to ask. Apterygial 06:18, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I've replied on the talk page, and done everything you suggested. I'll leave you a good exciting race to do, say, Europe? ;) Apterygial 23:51, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

More pics from the Jerez test

Diniz, I have uploaded a couple of additional pics from the Jerez test (Feb 10). Could you please have a look at them and check if they are included in the right categories? I had to create a category for Sebastian Buemi, and I am not sure that I did it properly... Apologies for bothering you with this, but I am still new here! ;-) Also, could you give me some guidance as to which type of pictures you would like to have in Wiki? For example, I uploaded a detail of the Renault rear wing, but I don't know if those are useful or you prefer pics showing the whole car. I still have a number of pics from the test, but most likely you do not want 50 of them on here! Thank you, and best regards MorganaF1 (talk) 20:16, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
