Possibly unfree Image:Skin Book.jpg edit

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Skin Book.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:BOOK DERM.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BOOK DERM.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Image source problem with Image:Danseymour.png edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Danseymour.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:47, 22 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Genisock2 (talk) 16:47, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Pope & Agca.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pope & Agca.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:25, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

User page edit

Hi, I got your message.

By the way, I'm a PC-user and I have no idea what "Mac-style" means. But the most important part of a user page is what you tell everyone about yourself. So toward that end, I've thrown something up on your user page that you can start filling in, editing, and playing around with. In addition to the content, you can change the colors, the border thickness, etc., until it's something unique to you.

If you need help with anything specific, please let me know and I'll drop by.

Glad to meetchya,

State Limousines of England edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of State Limousines of England, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://wikicars.org/en/State_Limousines_of_England. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:00, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

UN offensive edit

Your article is great, however the title UN Offensive could refer to any offensive by the United Nations in the past 60 years. I'm going to leave your article alone, but I suggest moving it to something with a much more specific title. Thanks for listening. Czolgolz (talk) 20:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re: Help edit

Sorry for the delay - I've taken a look at your contributions, and I can't see that you've had much experience in dealing with vandalism yet. Take some time learning the ropes manually first - since rollback is intended to be used only for cases of obvious vandalism, I'd like to see that you know what you're getting into first. I noticed that you'd also been declined rollback fairly recently, presumably for the same reason. Do some manual reversions for a while, and come back when you've got some experience. Happy editing! Hi Megapen, I see you recently created the article MOR Music - York, UK, with maintenance tags but no content. As it was deleted shorty before this, I presume that was a mistake. WP:NPP suggestions edit

First, let me say that I'm glad you're so enthusiastic about new page patrol, but I'd like to offer a couple of (hopefully) helpful suggestions.

If you're going to nominate an article for deletion, such as Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Benjamin Harlan, please give a reason for deletion instead of making people guess. Unless it's an article of the type "Jason is ugly hahahahaha", it's usually best to wait a short while before nominating for deletion. Most new contributors aren't familiar with article writing, and it may take them several edits over a couple of hours to get down what they want to say.

Also, when you're tagging new articles with Friendly, please take a minute to think about the tags you're applying. This diff, for example, has several tags that don't apply or duplicate each other. Cleanup and copyedit are essentially the same for this article, and there's really nothing confusing, essay-like, or that needs expert attention in it.

Thanks! --Fabrictramp (talk) 20:12, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nominations edit

When you do AfD nominations, be sure to provide a reason for deletion, rather than simply listing it. It's very important that you state why the article should be deleted, or if you are listing it for some other reason (i.e. if you were completing the AfD on behalf of an anonymous user). Your reason doesn't have to be long (though elaborate if possible to provide context). See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nicole Sandler for an example of an AfD where a reason was provided. Proposed deletion of Lepus Carnivorus edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lepus Carnivorus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Speedy deletion of American Issues Project edit

A tag has been placed on American Issues Project, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. -- Matthew Glennon(Talk to me) 00:04, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

File source problem edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:36, 29 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Masur (talk) 20:36, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Megapen! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 943 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Thomas Stevens (politician) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

WikiProject United States Government edit

Greetings. I noticed that you are one of the members of WikiProject United States Government that are still active so I wanted to ask you a question. It appears that this project is mostly inactive aside from what the members might be doing independently. I was considering suggesting that this project be pulled in under WikiProject United States and wanted to solicit comments from some of this projects members before doing so. As with Washington DC and the others the project would for the most part maintain its own independence but I believe this would benefit both projects. What do you think about this? --Kumioko (talk) 23:59, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Promotional photo Skycar.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Promotional photo Skycar.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 13:39, 6 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of Tom Stevens (politician) edit

The article Tom Stevens (politician) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Questionable notability, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Objectivist Party.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
