Cassandra Peterson

Please do not remove sourced material without explanation. Actress Cassandra Peterson’s birth name is Cassandra Gay Peterson, which is sourced from her memoir, specially on page 4. Gay is a name, a common one in the 1950s when she was born, and isn’t a reference to her sexuality.

Here is a quick cap from her memoir. She included this newspaper clipping: https://ibb.co/WgF1XWp

Peter Sallis and Martinevans123

this user known as Martinevans123 is has vandalised Peter sallis Wikipedia and you need to stop him. 2A00:23C8:9DAE:1B01:40FD:377D:7932:CF7A (talk) 07:10, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
Hello, @Martinevans123 did not appear to vandalize the article on Peter Sallis. Furthermore, it seems that you have sent this message after they reverted your edit. If you have any questions concerning Martinevans123, the best place to reach him would be on his talk page. ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) Hello Maylingoed. It seems you have never edited the Peter Sallis article, so I'm a bit surprised you've received this apparently random anonymous instruction. Martinevans123 (talk) 14:36, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
@Martinevans123 Same here, I am unsure why this user messaged me about it as I have never edited such article. I do, however, revert vandalism and other unwanted edits so that may be a contributing factor in their decision to message me instead of a different user. ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) (See what else I did on Wikipedia!!📜) 16:11, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
No worries. The main problem seems to be unawareness of WP:IMDB. These all look to be good faith edits and many readers will assume that IMDb is a perfectly sound source. But as it's user generated, it's not. Martinevans123 (talk) 16:14, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
Yea, thank you for reverting the unsourced changes. ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) (See what else I did on Wikipedia!!📜) 16:16, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

OHSchool edit

Thanks for your msg, and yes--I can understand why you recently neutralized my perhaps overly complimentary Wilt Chamberlain alumnus edit there, no problem. Appreciate hearing from you. 71.167.31.157 (talk) 00:54, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Thank you for reaching out to me about your edit on Overbrook High School, I am glad that I was able to help. Thank you! ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) (See what else I did on Wikipedia!!📜) 01:25, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Changes reverted

I am attempting to update an obituary Testing1234 (talk) 02:42, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

@Testing1234: In your edits, you included Original Research and blanked the page. Furthermore, it seems that you logged out to 68.129.161.218| to avoid a ban. ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) (See what else I did on Wikipedia!!📜) 02:45, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Minor Edits and an Introduction

I've been doing a few of these minor edits for a while now, where I've come across them. Some typos, some grammar corrections and one or two where I thought the sentence could be better structured to improve clarity. I had an account years ago, but I no longer have access to the email address I set it up under. That was under the username NickPretzel (or NicholasPretzel, I can't remember which, but it's my real name). Under that account I corrected the translation of ‘Die Welt am Draht’ (I was born in West Berlin, as was, and despite having only done one year (and one trimester) at school there – we spent a year in the UK and one in the US then returned to Berlin while my dad went house-hunting before moving here age 9½. They were always academic years, so the trimester was the first of my 4ᵗʰ school year. I continued reading and we always spoke German at home, so it kept improving. I've actually worked as a translator, most notably Mozart's letters for a book published by the Concertgebouw. They even took the book's title from one of the translated letters). I also contributed a longer piece on the talk page for Brian Eno (my uncle was a close friend & collaborator). My comment was basically hearsay (from personal experience, conversations I've had with Eno), so I couldn't substantiate them, hence put.ting them on the talk page. I can't remember if I did the same for the My Life in the Bush of Ghosts page. If I haven't, then I may well do so yet. I spent several hours talking with Eno about that album. I met him at a retrospective exhibition of my uncle's (Peter Schmidt – he was my father's older half-brother, from my grandmother's first marriage). I was pleasantly surprised to discover that he remembered me. I was 26 and had last met him when I was a 14-year-old Roxy Music fan. I still think My Life in the Bush of Ghosts is a seminal & groundbreaking album, so naturally enough I asked him if he minded talking about it and a long conversation ensued, including a number of memorable anecdotes. I did go through the tutorials and quite a few of the guides at that time and I've been reacquainting myself with them. Under my original account I also experimented quite a bit with the sandbox, but I've had trouble accessing my current one. In fact, that's what prompted me to ask whether it was possible to merge that account with my current one, but there is no mechanism for doing so, even if I still had access to my Yahoo! email account. I'll just use my old one, as I can still access that. Nevertheless, thank you for pointing them out to me, supplying me with links too. The Teahouse should prove particularly useful. I'm sure that will come handy. So I do have some experience of editing albeit from quite some time ago. I don't know why I waited so long to set up a new account. I think I was nursing a forlorn hope that my original password would come back to me; I kept trying periodically. It may yet. I have a system for making quite secure passwords by using a number of character substitutions. Where this method fails is usually when there are restrictions as two which characters I can use. My approach is basically algorithmic, I could actually write a piece of code to do it, but haven't. If some characters aren't allowed or the algorithm doesn't produce, eg any uppercase letters (because they've all been substituted. This is actually the most common reason for it to fail), then it becomes difficult to guess what I actually used. I don't think that was the case for Wikipedia though. Finding out whether I used Nick or Nicholas for my username is easy enough, I just need to look for the sandbox and it'll be the one that exists. My current account uses my now preferred online name: SaintNine (or SaintIX in this case. I'm not sure why I did that. The name is a fairly obscure pun based on my being a drummer: SaintNine = St + ix = stix! 🙄😮‍💨). I've found it's always been available, which is another reason I like it. Using my real name has inherent potential security issues. I've taken up enough of your time. Again, many thanks for the welcome and the useful links. SaintIX (talk) 04:23, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Hungarian Cuisine

Good Afternoon! I do not mean to be rude, but I just wished to understand why the previous edit on the Hungarian Cuisine article was rolled back. It says it has been cited for "Original research" but the information present that it was rolled back to was also uncited and was a change to previous work. I appreciate your time and I am Sorry to Bother you. Thank you,

@Úrnő Cristal, Thank you for reaching out to me on why I reverted your edits. In your contribution, it seems that you have used your own knowledge about Hungarian cuisine and applied it to the article. Wikipedia does not allow this, as it is Original Research. If you can find a reliable source about your fact and cite it, it can be included into the article. Thank you, ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!) @Jonesey95, Thank you for nominating this for deletion. I've seen that this was contested, (I was planning on doing so) and I wanted to apologize if the edit summary that I wrote was misleading. I did not intend for the template to be used as a test, instead it was a way to notify other editors that it was my first template, and there may be some formatting errors. ~~mAyLiNgOeEd (Talk to me!)
