Martin King edit

Hello there Mangwanani, I'm guyus24, an administrator on the Gerry Anderson Encyclopedia. I've recently learnt of the death of Martin King (actor) and you seem to know more information about it from your edits to the wikipedia page here. Are you a family member of Mr King? Did you know him? I would like to know more about either King himself or how you learnt of his death. He seemed to drop off the radar sometime in the 80s, would have loved to reach out to him personally but sadly no one could track him down. It is a great shame that he has died, but hopefully any additional information you have can help shed some light on this forgotten voice artist.

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Infobox Christian Leader edit

Hi Mangwanani! I see you have been changing |church= in bishops infoboxes to state their cathedrals; this is incorrect. The church parameter in this case is the highest division from church to province to archdiocese/diocese etc, and doesn't refer to the physical church building.

There is also a issue with |other_post= vs |previous_post=. The former appears in the top section of the infobox, while the latter appears under the "Personal life" title: so one refers to religious posts, and the other to their former life. The infobox can either have |previous_post= or |profession=, eg Headteacher of High School (1993–2002) vs teacher.

I hope this is clear, and thank you for the other additions. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 11:41, 19 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

2023 Zimbabwean general election edit

Hello. Please provide a source for the results you are adding, or they will continue to be removed from the article. Cheers, Number 57 22:03, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

They've literally just been announced on TV. Are you not watching the news? Mangwanani (talk) 22:06, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Being on TV doesn't meet WP:V. You need to provide a source people can double check. Number 57 22:07, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Of course. Live broadcast of the Chief Justice officially declaring the results is just a major conspiracy. Mangwanani (talk) 22:09, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
And Lo, it fell silent when it was proved to be arrogant and deleting data even though it was wrong to do so. The apology was never forthcoming and the lowly Zimbabweans sat there in the night waiting for the British to apologise yet again... Mangwanani (talk) 22:29, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
It wasn't wrong to delete it when it was unsourced, and you should be fully aware of the onus to source content. This is nothing to do with your nationality and everything to do with your attitude. Number 57 22:33, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
And lo the arrogance persists, unable to have any awareness of the speed with which such things are made available online in Zimbabwe in comparison to Western nations. They continue to judge us by their standards, and in doing so, find us lacking. As in the beginning, they assume bad faith, rather than the fact that sources are not available online as speedily as they desire, yet are available for those of us viewing such things in person. Mangwanani (talk) 22:45, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Again, this is nothing to do with arrogance or what country this election is being held in. WP:V is a core Wikipedia principle, and unfortunately people add false election results to Wikipedia all the time, so whatever country the election is taking place in, results being added without a source cannot be taken on good faith. A recent example is an editor adding fake results to the Sierra Leonean election article claiming Kamara had won. Number 57 22:55, 26 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Party colours edit

Hello. Rather than adding the party colours manually, you can add them to (e.g.) Module:Political party/R and they will then show up whenever that party is listed in an Election results table (which means they will appear consistently and save you the hassle of adding the colour to every table they are listed in). However, for parties without articles, this will only work where the party has a unique name like FreeZim Congress. If it's a name like National Action Party (of which there are a few), you'll still have to add it manually. Cheers, Number 57 10:50, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

As you enjoy undoing everyone's work on this platform, I look forward to seeing you undo everything I have done to match the above. Mangwanani (talk) 11:01, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Not really clear what you mean, but a reminder that generic party names can't be added to the module and you've requested a few (Republican Party, United Democratic Alliance, United Democratic Front, People's Progressive Party). The name has to be unique to the party as if it were an article title. Number 57 11:23, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
To quote our former President, Robert Mugabe, "Mr Blair (Number57), you keep your England, and let me keep my Zimbabwe." Mangwanani (talk) 11:28, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid that violates WP:OWN. Throwing your toys out of the pram at the module talk page is a bit silly isn't it? Why not just get it done. Cheers, Number 57 11:34, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
What exactly is your purpose on Wikipedia? It does not seem to be collaboration. It does not seem to be building up the knowledge of mankind. There are many people working hard to contribute to the wealth of knowledge of our homeland. You? I have seen no positive contributions to the pages of Zimbabwe, no creation of anything that helps or benefits the knowledge of Zimbabwe - simply deletions. Speaking of just getting it done - you too could do it. I've done the leg work of finding the correct colours. You could be helpful and collaborate to improve the site. But no - as usual with all imperialists, they like to sit there and moan and let the locals get on with it, and when they have done the work, they take the credit for it. I've written thousands of articles on elections and referendums (including several Zimbabwean ones), much of it in collaboration with others. The problem here is your attitude – refusing to acknowledge you have to comply with core policies like WP:V or making accusations against other editors based on their nationality. Regarding the colours, I was trying to be helpful by pointing you to a solution that would save you having to manually input colours to multiple tables, yet you respond to the advice with a dig at me. It's pathetic. Number 57 11:47, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
I thank God daily that you yourself have no attitude on this website and make such positive and helpful contributions. You must let me know how I can send you tribute and honour according to my station as a lowly African. Mangwanani (talk) 11:50, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your signature edit

Please be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font> tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. As explained at WP:SIGFONT:

<font>...</font> tags were deprecated in HTML4 and are entirely obsolete in HTML5. This means that the popular browsers may drop support for them at some point. Wikipedia is already preparing for this by delinting code project-wide through Linter. When support finally is dropped, the tags will be ignored in all signatures; any properties such as color and font family will revert to their default values. For this reason, it is recommended that you use <span>...</span> tags and CSS properties instead.

I have prepared a replacement signature string for you. You are encouraged to change

<font color="green">Mangwanani</font> <font color="green">(talk)</font>  : Mangwanani (talk)

to

<span style="color:green">Mangwanani</span> <span style="color:green">(talk)</span>  : Mangwanani (talk)
