Ars Regendi

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ars Regendi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Ars Regendi. AfD nomination of Ars Regendi

edit

An editor has nominated Ars Regendi, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ars Regendi and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 03:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image:Ars-logo.jpg listed for deletion

edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Ars-logo.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Please read Wikipedia's policy on WP:LINKSPAM; and I can see now that an article on Ars Regendi has already been deleted through AfD, in which the notability guidelines WP:Notability were pointed out. As for "my game", note that at no point have I tried to promote it in article space. Marasmusine (talk) 16:15, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Ars regendi

edit

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Your recent edits

edit

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Orphaned non-free media (File:Start en1.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Start en1.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

April 2010

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Serious game. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.--McGeddon (talk) 09:06, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

AR is a serious game and is absolutely fitting to the article! Malone70 (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Government simulation game. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:23, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

AR is a serious game and is absolutely fitting to the article! Malone70 (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Simulations and games in economics education do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:26, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please also care about the other links! Malone70 (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is the final warning that you will receive regarding your disruptive edits, such as this edit you made to Government simulation game. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing without further notice. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:25, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

As I did not get a message about this warning - Wiki obviously does not provide such a useful feature - I did simply not notice that. Malone70 (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Peter 10:39, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi ***,

oh well I don't expect that you even care about my block. Because regarding the licentious editing by some people without even giving a reason I am sure that Wikipedia as a whole does not care about justice at all. And additionally, it doesn't care about the usefulness of entries. Ars Regendi is more than any other of the listed games a government simulation game, we received a lot of interested users, and why is it removed? Because one single user likes to exert his power, and as he has contributed more than me you don't even consider whose entries have to be edited or who should be blocked. You block me because I changed the article three times for good reasons (and giving a reason!), even when I already stopped to do so. I think it's ok when you block me for editing the article --- until this issue has been discussed. But: with this block I can't even discuss anymore. I am not even able to play in the sandbox. Lol. Well, I think I know why you don't let me discuss: you can be sure anyway that no matter what I write one of your guidelines is fulfilled. When I argue that Ars Regendi is useful and meets all criteria to be listed under government simulation games, you put out your notability criteria. So, any other game that made more advertising than AR can fulfill your notability criteria because when it got enough users some possibly corrupt journal will report about it. So - ridiculously - even Ikariam is listed under GOVERNMENT simulation games... Ok, and when I argue that the article is full of linkings to non-relevant games - for only one reason: they have been simply lucky that nobody complained - and it would be more than fair if AR is listed too, you put out your Gofishing guideline (which even accuses the user globally of NON SOCIAL BEHAVIOR! LOL). So you can be absolutely sure that no entry from non-big-business companies will contaminate your empire with useful hints. It must be a paradise for tin-pot dictators. When you have still something called conscience you should at least let me discuss further in order that I can tell my opinion.

Kindest, Marc

Malone70 (talk) 12:47, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Forget about it. There was no hint - besides here - that the block will last 24 hours. So I thought it is permanent. Malone70 (talk) 12:49, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:03, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh sorry, I simply deleted other advertisings from the article as McGeddon did... Malone70 (talk) 12:37, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have now cut the other links from the section. You were correct to delete them; your ban was for aggressively reverting the edits of another user, not for removing the links. --McGeddon (talk) 12:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Anyway, my entry has been absolutely neutral. When you think it was not, you can edit it or discuss with me. Malone70 (talk) 12:46, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

@McGeddon: thanks, now at least my sense of justice is satisfied. Even though is not good for the users, because many of them won't find the way to useful games like AR. Malone70 (talk) 12:55, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Haha, and Ikariam is still listed there... Malone70 (talk) 13:01, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Conflict of interest?

edit

Can I ask what your connection is to the Ars Regendi game? It seems that every single one of your edits since 2008 has been to try to promote the game - if you're just an enthusiastic fan, that's fine, but if you have any direct connection to the game itself, you should be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines before promoting it any further. Thanks. --McGeddon (talk) 07:10, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
