Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Tim Kang, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Orphaned non-free media (File:Greater-montreal logo.PNG)
Thanks for uploading File:Greater-montreal logo.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Air Canada HQ
Thank you for finding the flickr pic. Unfortunately the author didn't respond when I sent a PM asking if he would like to relicense the photo so that it can be used on Wikipedia.
If this is convenient, would you be willing to photograph the Air Canada headquarters in Montreal to put on the Commons and use on Wikipedia? WhisperToMe (talk) 22:31, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Montreal Boroughs
Hey there! Thanks for taking up on the missing infobox formatting for the Island of Montreal. Gordalmighty (talk) 15:16, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
Dude! Me again.
Good job on the new maps, but I would now suggest changing the caption underneath the demerged boroughs, as a grey area could be defined as the whole island. Maybe something mentioning the white outlines.
I'm presently editing NB and NS communities and roads and kinda lost the feel right now for the Montreal articles, but keep up the good work! Gordalmighty (talk) 01:04, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Articles for deletion nomination of Westmount Adjacent
I have nominated Westmount Adjacent, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Westmount Adjacent. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 13:49, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Westmount park
Saaayyyyy, I was thinking of putting together Westmount Park article. Do you think it's notable enough? Should I stubify it?--Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:36, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- If you have enough information and sources, I would say go ahead and start the article. Along with Summit Circle Park, I would say that it's the most important park in Westmount. If you don't think there's enough for an article, you can always write a paragraph about it in the Westmount article, perhaps under a "Parks" section. In my opinion the fact that there was a public dispute over the proposed installation of artificial turf in part of the park makes it notable (along with being the home field of North America's oldest rugby club). Cheers. --MTLskyline (talk) 04:49, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, a paragraph might be best. If it gets cubby enough, then perhaps an article. Thanks.--Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:59, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Mad styrofoam sword fighting people
You are the perfect person to ask. Do you know where the drumming thing is on the mountain by Parc Ave? Well, behind there, up the hill a bit, there is this freakish gathering of people fighting with rubber swords and shields. Do you know if this has an article or what it's called? --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:40, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- I know that these "battles" don't have a name (let alone an article, which not even the much more famous Tam-Tams have). However there is a mention of them in the Mount Royal article, along with a source describing their behaviour in greater detail, complete with pictures. Cheers. MTLskyline (talk) 05:05, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the article. I guess they are not that notable. I thought they might be part of some network. Tam Tam Jam definitely deserves an article. Why isn't there one? Was it speedily deleted for lack of notability? All the best.--Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:56, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- To my knowledge there is has never been an article on the Tam-Tams (I guess because it was never deemed a very high priority by Montreal wikipedians). There is an article on them in French however: [1]. Cheers. MTLskyline (talk) 03:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Photos of Westmount
Well, I received the photos and don't quite know what to do. They are sort of composites, arguably more artistic than documentary. Please have a look see and tell me what you think. Here is a direct download from adrive file hosting: http://www.adrive.com/public/f59715b5d7e3c8d5a45fdb6805e2a6d419e9e8a8f6bca0665f829ea210ffdd9c.html
- I'm sorry, I can't access the file, is there another way I could view them? MTLskyline (talk) 03:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm, it's a RAR archive. Would ZIP better? Are you one of those people who use the MAC? Do you have any suggestions? --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:42, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm on Windows. A ZIP would work (I've never really encountered very many RAR files before.) Otherwise maybe upload a sampling of them to Photobucket or something. --MTLskyline (talk) 04:57, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I made them into a ZIP: http://www.adrive.com/public/328d96f4c773c51d12ae4754419d23e266444a4929ff1b18e0c11f9816d0e5ea.html --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:21, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for that! These are fairly nice pictures. Some are better than others. Most of them need a bit of retouching. Most seem to have stitch marks in them, although I think that they are usable (just probably not for an infobox image). I could probably take a "skyline" picture from Westmount Summit sometime, if I'm in the area. I do live a little piece away though, so it might be a few weeks. --MTLskyline (talk) 03:41, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- My thoughts exactly. The pics show some typical houses in lower Westmount. And yes, they are stitched together. I am 50-50 on whether or not they should have a place in the article -- certainly not in the infobox. Unfortunately there are no 'hub' or skylines in the group. I look forward to seeing your shots. Summer shots too!!
- As for Tamtams, I finally, found the article. I had to create a few redirects, and fix one that bounced to Mount Royal, but now all is well. I even added a couple of photos I swiped from fr.wikipedia. Eat a Schwartz's or a steamé for me. I'm all the way over her in China. Cheers! --Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:07, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Not much is left to do before I submit List of bridges in Montreal to featured list evaluation. A reference attesting to the construction dates of the three bridges to Repentigny, and that of earlier structures if any, and perhaps choosing a better color scheme for the tables. I was told that the picture of Jacques Cartier Bridge, as artistically sound as it is, is unsuitable for encyclopedic purposes.
Since you are an active member of WikiProject Montreal, I would like to hear from you about this article. If you want to contribute to the touch-ups, I would appreciate. Any other comments? -- Blanchardb -Me•MyEars•MyMouth- timed 19:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Education in Montérégie
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Place Ville-Marie
Hi there,
I see on your user page that you live in Montreal. I am going to assume that you have heard of Place Ville-Marie in asking you this question. The reports of the number of floors in Place Ville-Marie vary from 43 to 46. Do you, with your Montreal expertise, know the actual number of floors in this structure, or could you possibly visit this building to find out? Thanks,

Cinema V
Hello. Do you remember me? We discussed a new Westmount photo way back when. I am wondering if the photo for Empress Theatre (Montreal) is outdated. They are bringing it back to life and it may appear very different now. If you happen to pass by with your camera, and the place looks snazy, perhaps you could take a picture. I am unable to do it myself, as I am over here in China (not freezing). If there are any China-related photos you would like, just ask. (I am in Haikou.) Thanks and hope you are well. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:22, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Anna. I hope the picture I found on Flickr for the Westmount article was a good choice (I tried to find one with the actual "mountain" in it). As far as I know, the Empress Theatre still looks the same today, but I haven't passed by there in quite a while. These kinds of projects tend to take quite a while to get off the ground here (I'm not sure that they even have funding yet). That said, they may very well have started renovating, as it has been discussed/planned for ages. Next time I am in NDG, I will bring my camera and snap a shot if something looks different. I noticed that there are two articles for this topic that should be combined (there is also an article entitled Cinema V), which name do you think is more notable? It's being discussed on the Cinema V talk page. Those are some spectacular shots you took of Haikou, a nice contrast from the grey, dreary and cold weather in Montreal this time of year. It looks humongous for 800,000 people, and to think that I might not have ever heard tell of it! Take care. --MTLskyline (talk) 22:48, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello MTLskyline! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 651 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Michael Applebaum - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Lucie Laurier - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Rachel Street has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of notability. Hasn't even qualified as notable enough for the Streets in Montreal template.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PKT(alk) 01:53, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Quebec7440
Re Quebec7440, do you think it would be best to report the user at WP:AIV for disruptive editing in addition to going for the sockpuppet investigation? I'd imagine that AIV would deal a block a lot quicker. -M.Nelson (talk) 03:33, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. I reported him. --MTLskyline (talk) 03:56, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- I think Caro 08 is a she. Definitely a pattern here. If I happen to be editing at the time (which maybe I wasn't) I'll take a look at this stuff on request, and won't wait for an SPI result if I spot the same 'ol. AIV is good too, since the user tends to not listen too well when asked to stop being disruptive. Franamax (talk) 05:12, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. I reported him. --MTLskyline (talk) 03:56, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- Also, a ?. I can't figure out File:Montreal panorama Québec canada.jpg at all, did you bloop with Twinkle, should I be checking logs on Commons? I can't find an associated image nor anything in the deletion logs. If it was a boo-boo, I can nuke it for you or you can just put {{db-auth}} on it. Franamax (talk) 06:36, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- I put the template on the lingering image file to get rid of it. Before, I did use twinkle on it though, and I think it was also listed on Commons. That was probably why it didn't completely go away. Another thing, I agree that Quebec 7440's SPI case should be merged into the existing case of Caro 08, but I'm not entirely sure how to do this, since Caro 08's case seems to be archived. --MTLskyline (talk) 07:24, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
- For the record, I speedied the image on commons. -M.Nelson (talk) 17:32, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 03:15, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

On the edit page of LeMoyne, Quebec , you've wrote on May 19th Boudreau Street was the historical dividing line between Longueuil and LeMoyne. This statement is true but only for Tiffin Rd.
On Taschereau Boulevard, the limits of Lemoyne/Longueuil is a little bit north of Boudreau but still south of Desaulniers. For example Oscar Motel which is north of Boudreau but south of Desaulniers is located in Lemoyne. So even though your edit is not 100% acurate, it is still better than my previous edit when I said Desaulniers was the dividing line because Desaulniers never reaches Lemoyne whether on Tiffin or Taschereau.
Regards
Farine (talk) 01:19, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- There is a very good chance you are right about the border being a little north of Boudreau. Although the Oscar Motel is on the south side of Boudreau rather than the north side. There is a snow clearing company located on the north side though, and that could very well have a LeMoyne address.
- I'm sorry. What I wanted to give as an example was the former Tilden/National Rent-a Car store on Taschereau Boulevard. Even though it is north of Boudreau, it is in Lemoyne and not in Longueuil. (Well Lemoyne is now in Longueuil but you know what I mean). Farine (talk) 03:57, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- So the border was roughly around the bikepath, I'm guessing?--MTLskyline (talk) 02:39, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello again! Sorry about your weather. Suggestion: Shove as much snow and ice as you can into the back of a gremlin and drive it to florida and sell it on the beach. They won't know what it is. You will have to splain it to them. hahaha
Seriously, I am looking for a photo of the club before Concordia hippies it all up. I'm not sure if you live nearby, but think of the lovely ribs you could eat if you go there.
Sorry about the informality of this post. It's Chinese new year here, and I've had a stiff glass of white wine. Cheers, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 16:31, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- All three groundhogs did not see their shadows this year, so that means an early spring is on its way. Spring is my favourite season, so I couldn't be happier about that. The Year of the Rabbit is going well so far.
- I don't reside close to downtown (I live and work on the south shore), so I am rarely in the area. I might have a chance or two to drop by on a weekend though. Otherwise, I know for sure I'll be in the area more frequently starting in May. I'm not sure if that's leaving it too late though (do you know if they are planning to change the facade or something?). However, the picture might look better without all the dirty snow. I noticed you are a participant of the WikiProject Quebec.
The Outline of Quebec was created a few days ago and is under vigorous development. It fills a gap in Wikipedia's set of outlines. It is the 3rd outline to date about a Canadian province/territory.
- Wikipedia Contents
- Outlines
- Outline of geography
- Outline of North America
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of Alberta
- Outline of British Columbia
- Outline of Manitoba
- Outline of New Brunswick
- Outline of Newfoundland and Labrador
- Outline of Nova Scotia
- Outline of Ontario
- Outline of Quebec
- Outline of Prince Edward Island
- Outline of Saskatchewan
- Outline of the Northwest Territories
- Outline of Nunavut
- Outline of Yukon
- Outline of Canada
- Outline of North America
- Outline of geography
- Outlines
Outlines form one of the subsystems of Wikipedia's contents navigation system. For more information on outlines, see Wikipedia:Outlines and Wikipedia:WikiProject Outlines.
The goals for the Outline of Quebec is to complete it to as high a standard of quality as possible, and to make it even better than the Outline of Saskatchewan and the Outline of British Columbia.
Once the Outline of Quebec is completed, it will provide an important example to others creating outlines for the remaining provinces and territories of Canada.
Please take a look at the outline to see if you can notice (and fill in) any missing topics. Pictures would also be nice (the rarer and the more interesting, the better).
Thank you.

AMT ridership
You included 2009 Passenger information in some AMT railway station articles. Do you have a source that would allow me to add this to more of the stations? Secondarywaltz (talk) 15:52, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- I am just taking the number used in the French version of the article. --MTLskyline (talk) 22:38, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- Too bad. My French isn't good enough to ask there. Secondarywaltz (talk) 23:11, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- I took a look around on the French wikipedia and found that they were using the 2009 activity report. They do have an English version which is available on the AMT's website. The AMT also has a 2010 version posted, although I have not been able to access it (the link is very slow). Might has well use the most recent numbers (they are on page 30). One thing I noticed is that the ridership per line counts the number of people who ride the train each day (just counting boardings I guess), whereas the individual station traffic stats count the combined number of entries and exits at each station. This seems to mean that most people are counted twice at the same station in the same day. --MTLskyline (talk) 04:25, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you - I've got it. I will try to format the numbers in such a way that they can be read directly into the station articles. I did it for the TTC subway stations, and it means that each individual station does not need to be updated every year, just the data template. You will be the first to know if I can get something working here. Secondarywaltz (talk) 15:20, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- Done! Only the Candiac Line has been entered so far, using templates rather than being hard coded. Check it out. Secondarywaltz (talk) 20:50, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- Looks good! I really like the idea of using a template for ridership figures. It will ensure consistency, and make updating the numbers from year to year a lot easier. Thank you! --MTLskyline (talk) 16:48, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

West Island
Hi. Do you have any guidance on whether Lachine, Lasalle and Saint Laurent are part of the West Island? I've removed the statement that they are not as unsourced POV. As pointed out in Talk:West_Island#Which_areas_do_actually_belong_to_the_West_Island.3F, way back in 2009, leaving the article as is confronts readers with a puzzling contradiction, as the map clearly shows the three areas as in the West Island. I'm having trouble finding reliable sources that Lachine et al are in the West Island, so all I can fall back on is my OR as a lifelong west islander and the fact that the West Island edition of the Montreal Gazette serves these areas, which is obviously not enough. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 16:48, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- The West Island does not seem to have any official territorial definition. The West Island Chamber of Commerce includes Lachine but not Saint-Laurent and LaSalle. A zone map used by cab companies includes only Lachine as well. This federal government website does not include any of the three. Neither does this website.
- My own view is that LaSalle is not part of the West Island. Saint-Laurent could be argued either way, although none of the maps I found includes it. A case could be made for Lachine being on the West Island, although we might be best off just using the stricter (excluding Lachine, LaSalle and Saint-Laurent) definition that everyone agrees on. --MTLskyline (talk) 02:17, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks and I had already removed my edits. It's interesting that the Chamber of Commerce includes Lachine, though. I've tagged the article for contradiction, due to the appearance of all three regions in the map. Thanks again for your thorough response and your great work overall. Invitation to take part in Wikipedia research
Hello,
I am doing research on Wikipedia in multiple languages to see how different Wikipedia websites enable people differently to act and contribute in their ways. A brief description of the study can be found on our project page on Meta-Wiki. The results would give guidelines for further development of Wikipedia in less developed languages.
As an active member of Wikipedia community, you are invited to take part in the study and share your experience about and understanding of Wikipedia with us. It would take 30 to 60 minutes of your time to have an online or in-person (if you are in Montreal as you page shows) discussion about Wikipedia. I would be delighted to hear any of your ideas or feedback about the study. Please feel free to contact me with your questions and concerns related to this study and your participation. You can also find the email address on the project page. --WikiTafa (talk) 00:19, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of MTLskyline
A tag has been placed on MTLskyline, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.
If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DASHBot (talk) 18:02, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

East End of Montreal
Hi. In wikifying this article, I was surprised to see that we do not seem to have an article about Montreal's "East End" region, similar to what we do have for West Island. I'm constantly in amazement at your rate of article creation, and goodness knows you don't need more work. But if you were looking to add to your to-do list for Montreal geo-articles, do you think this would be worth creating? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 18:04, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think it could be worth creating, provided we have a clear definition and are capable of getting it past stub status. What boroughs/neighbourhoods would you include in the definition? Montreal East, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles are easy ones. I presume that Anjou and Saint-Leonard are also considered to be in the East End. Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie is a maybe, as are Montreal North and the Ahuntsic neighbourhood of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. Villeray-St-Michel-Parc-Extension also might be considered east end, at least the Villeray and Saint-Michel neighbourhoods.
- Also, should there be a North End article? Should areas in the East End also be included in the North End? (like Rivière-des-Prairies or Montreal North) Then there is also the West End (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce comes to mind) which is kind of in between the West Island and central areas. The only one I've never heard used is the "South End".
- I've been on a bit of a creation binge recently, although that will slow down when I return to work next week. Happy New Year! --MTLskyline (talk) 02:49, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- You have been on a tear, lately, to be sure! And you raise a good question about definitions: after we get past the easy ones, it gets tricker, just like with my question to you a while back about West Island boundaries. Some of the neighbourhoods you've mentioned seem like central districts. But then, by some definitions, anything east of The Main is East End. Maybe this is something not to rush into. Not so sure about the North End. But West End, including NDG, Montreal West and the like, is another likely suspect. Perhaps easier to define. (Pretty sure we had a West End Gang named after it, if I remember my Coolopolis stories. A CBC telefilm (with no wiki article yet) And Then You Die was about that gang, I think. Named after a book as I recall. I was an extra in it.) All the very best in the coming to you, too! Shawn in Montreal (talk) 03:16, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
- I found a city website defining East End Montreal as being east of Pie-IX Boulevard. (The specific file is here, page 2) Since this is a city website, perhaps we should use this as the official definition? We could also include brief explanation of other definitions of East End Montreal as well. I was unaware that a feature film made about the West End Gang, it would be great to have an article on it at some point. Speaking of the West End Gang, I'm surprised that there is not even an article on Gerald Matticks! Cheers. --MTLskyline (talk) 07:07, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Quebec autoroutes
Hello, I think the easiest way is only put categories by cities in Quebec. For an example Category:Transportation in Brossard, Category:Transportation in Longueuil is related to "Quebec Autoroute 30". I check the article Quebec Autoroute 30 under "Major cities" at the infobox. Categories in cities in Canada should be every article related to city's main article. Conservative Party of Quebec, why 1939?
Hi, is there a citation to give 1939 as the final year for the party, rather than 1935 or 1936?
More generally, when a political party becomes moribund, it might be difficult to research and justify a precise year of demise. Sometimes it dies in fits and starts, with splinter groups, slight name changes, etc. with very little documentation or verifiability. If Social Credit or the Union Nationale were for some reason to be revived in the future, we would presumably have to rename the current articles to "Union Nationale (1936 - ????)" etc. At the other end, sometimes the precise year of founding of a political party may be hard to research unambiguously.
It might be better to simply use "(historical)" as the disambiguation, rather than precise years. Or, since it's very unclear whether the revival will amount to anything, the historical party should remain undisambiguated. -- P.T. Aufrette (talk) 06:31, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- I looked at Conservative Party of Canada (1867–1942) beforehand and assumed that this was the proper format. Regarding 1939, I went by what was written in the French wikipedia article about the historical party. It mentioned that the Conservative Party of Quebec fielded a few candidates in the 1939 election and dissolved shortly thereafter.
- That said, I agree with the moves, and notice that they have been performed using Conservative Party of Quebec as a disambiguation page. --MTLskyline (talk) 02:32, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I posted the following note at Talk:Tour Telus. You may wish to reply there.
- The property manager's website at http://www.redbourne.ca/HTMLsEN/EN_630ReneLevesque.html calls this building Place Telus Montréal. Is this an official name change? Eastmain (talk • contribs) 17:39, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

I see you have contributed to the article about Rosemere High School, and I appreciate that. If you have time, can you take a look at another article, Pinewood Elementary School (Mascouche, Quebec), that breifly describes Pinewood Elementary School, which belongs to the same school board as Rosemere High School.
Give me feedback please.
Thank you!

Please note that I have renamed this article to List of shopping malls in Greater Longueuil as the latter is more precise. Should there be shopping centres outside the agglomeration of Longueuil that are added on this article, then we can rename it back to "List of shopping malls in Montérégie". Regards. Quartier des spectacles
Hi there, hope you're well. I noticed you recently created the redirect Quartier des spectacles. However, I'd like to propose we reverse the redirect because this capitalization, in addition to being the official French name, is also used in our article's English-language WP:RS. Please let me know if you're okay with this. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 23:33, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oops, nevermind. Jeff Heinrich's recent and impressive Gazette article Quartier des Spectacles: Designed for one and all uses the English title case version. I'll focus on improving the article, which is rather badly out of date. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 00:34, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- I just took a look at the Qds article and it definitely is a huge improvement! If you decide that you do prefer the lowercase spelling, please feel free to move the article. Speaking of which, do you think that the article on the Montreal Symphony House should be moved to Maison symphonique or Maison symphonique de Montréal? When I created the article, I kind of assumed that the Maison symphonique would likely be referred to by an English version of its name, but I'm not sure that is the case so far. What do you think?--MTLskyline (talk) 04:35, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. I can't find any bona fide WP:RS with the English name for the symphony house, just blog posts, Facebook and a wikimirror article. But for some reason I can't move the article myself. If you wish, let's leave it as is and I'm sure sooner or later someone will move the page... Shawn in Montreal (talk) 15:08, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Images and captions
Hi, I was looking at the St._Patrick's_Basilica,_Montreal page, and also at List_of_National_Historic_Sites_of_Canada_in_Montreal both of which are pages where you've replaced an image with a better one. I noticed that you didn't change the caption on the first or the alt text on the second- those captions both referenced specific aspects of the image that you replaced and weren't entirely relevant to the new image, you probably just missed them but I just wanted to remind you to watch out for that in future.
