Hollyoaks characters

Hi. In the Hollyoaks template ({{Hollyoaks}}), please avoid introducing characters that haven't been introduced into the show yet. For example, Cheryl, who doesn't arrive until May. Also, the list is ordered by surname, so for characters that don't have a surname, please just list them in the main list by order of their first name. Question

Firing the missile at "the beast" will cause the "456" will accend on the earth like the darleks did and attack earth directly. What species is the 456 and what you think they need the children for? I think the doctor should show up sometime! I wonder why the Torchwood guys appear in Doctor Who but not vice versa. Also, in regards to your other editing, I want to point out that removing the country that the show, character or couple is from is wrong formatting. It should state "British" right there in the lead beside "Channel 4 soap opera," etc. And, in the lead (intro), there should not be a comma when, for example, the line is "British soap opera character [so and so]." Thank you for preserving this material by moving it from an unneeded stand alone article to a list of characters. I encourage you to continue to do this type of merge in the future. However, you need to make sure to properly document all merges by doing the following:

1. Note where the material is being merged to in the edit summary of the source page ("merging useful content to [[Destination]]")
2. Add {{R from merge}} to the newly redirected page
3. When completing the merge note where it was merged from in the edit summary ("merging in content from [[Source]]")

These steps are necessary to properly comply with our content licensing terms. In particular be sure to wikilink the source article in the edit summary that completes the merge. Otherwise it isn't clear where the content came from.

Hannah Ashworth

You can't be serious. The image you uploaded, it's not even Hannah. It's Emma Rigby. What was wrong with the image of Hannah Ashworth? That actually had the right image tags. All your images end up deleted anyway, so this was basically vandalism advertising a fansite called 'Hollyoaksbabes.net' so it cannot be a screenshot of a TV programme. Your other edits to the article were not helpful either.Raintheone (talk) 00:03, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm all for improving the character pages. I have no fault with any of the other changes you made, only the image. The image that was already present was actually fine. Basically the character doesn't have to look like she is on a photo shoot to be a good image. Seeings as the image was recent, had all the tags with it, I'd say it was okay. Your image is taken from a website and still has the website url on the image. So there it's void. End of. As for the rest of your edits to soap opera character related articles, fantastic. Your doing great on making the Hollyoaks pages better. To be honest most people just add storyline recaps and crap like that which basically has no place because it just isn't notable. Good to see that you are aspiring to make the pages like Eastender's character pages, who have a good dedicated team already ensuring they are tidy, up to date and so on. Hollyoaks Characters

Hello after our recent resolved problem we had I thought I'd ask you your opinions on a few matters. All the hollyoaks character pages are just pointless storyline archives like I previously said, with you and me being two of a very small amount of members that make notable edits to these articles, do you think Hollyoaks should have it's own wikiproject? We can then gather the editors that do these massive storyline edits and help them make only edits that have reason to them. A massive clean up is in order as I'm sure you know, one of the problems is coming from the main page, which is crap basically. It needs a read like Eastenders tbh. Character articles one day will need to read like Pauline Fowler.. . Any ideas how we could do that, assuming your interested. =) Raintheone (talk) 13:10, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

I joined it and now we need to find more. I've also done a massive edit on Nancy Hayton explaining all the storylines in the out of universe style regarding fictional characters, added the development and creation, reception. I wouldn't want to get into a edit war but on Coronation Street articles etc we say 'portrayed by'. :P Also the episode airing part is there to distinguish what she appeared on. Hollyoaks

You've uploaded some images such as the one of Clare Devine which is tagged again. It really needs taking of, the tag that is. Oh and when your editing character development sections, original research such as in the article Tony Hutchinson is okay, because were viewers and we know that's how he acts and what he is like, but a new reader would not and with there being no references cited it could be challenged to be removed if it remains uncited/unverifiable. The character articles on a whole are generally looking better, plenty more condensing of the storylines is needed on many but we'll get thatc sorted. Romances field in character infobox and your Hollyoaks character infobox

Why do you keep removing the Romances field from the John Paul McQueen and Craig Dean character infoboxes whenever IPs and maybe even registered editors add them back? Yes, Template: Infobox soap character does have a Romances field. Flyer22 (talk) 22:59, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Sarah Barnes

If Sarah has "come out" as a lesbian, she should be classified as one. I have not watched where she "comes out" yet, but I just looked at one of the older versions of this article, where the lead used to state this and where you reverted someone who placed her in the lesbian category. Her having been with men romantically/sexually does not necessarily mean that she is "bisexual" (as the Bisexuality article notes) and that she is not a lesbian or should not be classified as a lesbian.

I will mainly leave the Hollyoaks articles to you, because I do not currently have the time to clean a lot of them up and am not as familiar with the history of this show as you are. But when I see something within any of them that needs correcting, I will seek to have whatever it is corrected. Flyer22 (talk) 23:26, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

I did not expect one back. We have both been working hard on the articles, but you more so. As you know I tend to work on Coronation Street articles the most. But Hollyoaks are a big plan for my editing in the future. Just latley though you have made amazing edits to them. You made good edits ad mostly in re-creating Leila, Ravi and Anita's article pages. The students

So I'm going to make the three new students articles when there is enough stuff about. Suprisingly there is though. I've made Charlotte Lau, just thought I'd mention it. You have hger on your userpage as a redirect. Dave will be easy because his character was a focal point of a government funded spin off to raise the awareness of binge drinking. With India there must be plenty of stuff because of the open audtioning they held. I'll do Hayley to if you like. Oh god I'm crap at spoting mistakes. I can write the article, but damn I can't always use grammar! Glad you watch what I'm doing. Lol... I was just about to do more of the students but Hollyoaks have deleted Load and Go which had a tonne of information on Dave and India! So I just thought, lets do Loretta. Character names

I've just been editing more info in on Zak's page.... Zachary Timothy "Zak" Ramsey <--- how annoying are full names no one uses, and middle names included.. are they needed, why can't there be a born thing in the info box. Also should it be Zachary Timothy "Zak" Ramsey(nee Zak Barnes) ... (born Zak Barnes) ... (previously Zak Barnes) ... How do you include his old name in that? Zoe Carpenter - Mass of Refs for you, HOW NOTABLE!!

I noticed youy put the nomination in. It's evident you put a lot of hard work into the article. More references..?? well.. I won't edit it as I might review it (if i figure it out lol). Plus I iknow that article is your baby so I'll let you do it all... I spent over an hour researching you these so please use some. :P :P (If you don't have enough time I suppose I'd try add them in, but I don't wabnt to change the tone of the article now it's nommed, it needs to read good and you're better with the gramar!! haha)

So for Reception you could include some parts. In Maxim mag (online too) Lister did a photoshoot and interview Here They asked questions like "In Hollyoaks you’re a bit of a tomboy. Are you in real life?" and "Your character is pretty popular with the boys but doesn’t often pull. How do you fare in real life?" also So with that you could put 'Maxim magazine states that the character is really popular with male viewers and dresses like a bit of a tomboy' ....

Here is a good one, before the lesbian thing with Sarah Lister actually asked bosses to cook her a lesbian storyline up ..here and coverage of her wish being granted... here is the ref... now thats quite a find!! lol

Here is an interview with Sky TV about her exit, skydive storyline, what it was like to film. If you don't find any new info in it, it could be used as a secondary reference, the more the better aye. :)

Here is an interview with the liverpool echo discussing the sky dive, how it was filming the stint in prison (how they made the set, what she had to do during filming etc) ... if your interested in the actress there is a bit on here too.... will do for development...

Personality and identity can be drawn out from this cool interview Here, just like Loretta she is not a blonde stereotype... Zoë, do you have to fight against the blonde stereotype image? I haven’t faced any problems yet. Maybe when and if I leave the show, people might go: ‘Oh, you’re just another blonde from Hollyoaks,’ and I might have to prove my worth then, but I’m definitely not a dizzy blonde, and neither is my character anyway – she’s quite a tomboy and street-smart.

Now here's a bit of out of universe style inclusion... Well latley I've become more Hollyoaks focused as it was just me editing HO for a while, and I went Neighbours crazy with the editing.. but now Acidbrights and Ohh Fruity are big editors.. a project we started which would be great to get your help is a history section for Hollyoaks, it sounded hard at first, but we cracked on with it... only done the basic castings and a few other things as of yet but there is loads to be added. Calvin was still her husband, it should of remained with a bracketed date format of their duration of marriage... she also had a younger brother, from her father... the same with JP and Michaela... I always make sure when I'm watching the episodes, I listen out for any mentions of other family members, just incase anyone adds members to the article... Yeah, I'm going to try to get Cindy to a GA. :) I need to try and find an image of the original Cindy though. And yeah, I can't wait for this storyline. I loved Veronica, so I'm glad she's going to be in it more. :D as for Sheila, that was a shame, she was a good character tbh. I suppose so, but Blanche .. mainly Doug have too... but there is more out there in refs for Doug... I'm actually so sick of this page, I wish it would disappear. I've tried so many times, had it protected, had it placed on the pending review page... With Molly, the ref is missing, it's from castingcall pro, it's just one simple ref... but it's been removed.. not by you, but it's so sneaky these IP edits.. I placed heading in for Kevin, but theyre gone, was going to transfer him out, but then he is leaving... It's not you're fault about the edit coming up in the the review like that, you were helping, I just thought you did away with them all together lol. Yeah, that's true I suppose. I added more information at the top too, just introducing the article more. Gosh, Wikipedia can become so confusing at times. When it comes to fake family members, I just don't know whether to believe some of them anymore. When I updated the McQueen family tree image, I wasn't sure whether to add Bart's mother 'Sarah McQueen' to it, as she had only been mentioned in the McQueen article... I think Sarah was made up by a crazy IP .. I kept removing it from every McQueen article, must have missed that.... also another thing, any point of talking about the characters in articles, it has to be put into present tense, and any talk of the actor goes into past. That's a big problem atm with the hollyoaks articles because we used to write them largley in past tense when it came to storylines. Tedious tasks. See with Sinead, you have stacked refs... also, three are singled to the lead, which means something has been said that hasn't in the article it's self. No refs are needed in Leads of articles, because they are meant to reflect verified content elsewhere in the article. (I had a hard time getting my head around it myself while you were gone...) The refs you stacked, are they saying the same thing? If it gets noticed the most reliable remains and the others get removed... So when I want to add plenty of refs, I say it in small parts, add a refs .. then add another part of the same story and add the next ref... Heyy, thought I'd start a new discussion. I noticed someone Added Tom Hughes as upcoming. Can you keep an eye out for a ref for him. It was true, but their is no ref yet. I knew of Drew Dillon, Tom Hughes and Chris Overton all joining the cast as different characters... but only found one for Drew Dillon before the waveguide spoilers mentioned him. Because it is ridiculous to continually add dates like that. A character can move in and out of a house several times in the space of a few years, but the point of the duration should be from when they first lived there - not every time they have changed homes. It's like with characters for example. If an actor leaves at the start of the year but returns later on in the same year, we don't add the duration as 2009–2010, 2010— because it should sum up the full duration for the character. If you disagree, please don't keep adding it in, or you might be blocked due to edit warring. Simply create a new section on the location talk page, or WikiProject talk page. Check WP:DATE. Cheryl's says '2009-2010, 2010-', when did she move out exactly? She did not leave for very long. Same with Mercedes. I can understand your point when it comes to Carmel. Ste's section is the way it is because he moved out permanently for over a year, as did Amy, Leah and Lucas. It also mentions in the paragraphs of each residence that Carmel, for example, moved out and moved in with Calvin. So in that way, it is not relevant to change the date. To be fair IP user, the whole page was a mess, it still is. It lacks any references apart from two. It would only interest a fan and has no encyclopedic value. I have wanted to rid of the lot, which we should really because it's all unsourced nonsense atm. I'd suggest that if you feel strong enough about.. go and transform the page, help us out a little. After all, right now there are only 4 editors really giving their all to improve.... so we need more help. Agreed. Perhaps we could merge it into the locations section on the Hollyoaks article? If not, a large clean up is needed. I'm not sure it's relevant to note the dates of when characters have lived in a property, since it will continually change. The paragraph about houses should be kept in the briefest form.
