Hollyoaks

edit

Heeey. Here is The archive page for refs. When we add refs, I think it's a good idea we archive them as dead links are becoming a problem. Criticly anything from Holysoap or official HO website... because they delete pages often. I archived all of the refs on brendan's article to start it off. All's you need to do is put the url and your email, (Non of the other fields on the form are needed and it makes a link back..) .. You know Ste's page, do you think it's a good idea if we rid of the image where Ste returns to Amy? It isn't really a pivitol moment IMO and is vilating the fair use rationale.. all images on the page are non free images, there are 4, if a fifth is added a bot notifies and all are tagged for deletion... (I reckon if nopticed they would delete all but the infobox one..)RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 21:10, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've noticed. I wish Channel 4 hadn't changed their website haha. Yeah, that's a good idea though. As for Ste's page, I agree the image is rather pointless tbh. Shall I request speedy deletion? I could just remove it from the Ste and Amy articles and it will be nominated for deletion anyway. LostHavoc(talk) 22:36, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I've just requested deletion anyway. LostHavoc(talk) 22:38, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
ADF for that one, speedy is for newly uploaded articles or images. .. but anyway, if you want an image gone you just remove it, edit the image page and state orphaned, it gets deleted without discussion so no hanger on's come and save it (Eg. the image uploader). :P Same, C4's website had more pages such as Caroline and co, plus interviews with various oldies.. but oh well. Urg, people edit articles for SL's only and just relink characters that are already linked, Cheryl's page has more SL's added and no actor names.. grrr lol (Rather hot episode of HO on E4 earlier, wasn't it.. lol)RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 22:47, 20 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
Damn. I'm rubbish at image-related stuff haha. :L and yes, it was! I'm trying to figure out if it's wrong to fancy Brendan lmao. LostHavoc(talk) 10:51, 21 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

List of minor Hollyoaks characters (2010)

edit

The new List of minor Hollyoaks characters (2010) material is good, but I don't see the point of deleting the other part. Why not resubmit new material and then work on old?

I moved the information from that section to its own article, Bart McQueen. LostHavoc(talk) 12:06, 30 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yay! The Hollyoaks pages are all lovely, lovely, lovely! Especially the locations page! Organised, detailed and informative - I was very happy and wouldn't have made any changes :)! (as of 6th November 2010, 00:42) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.157.1.180 (talk) 00:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, the locations article is fairly good at the moment. Information about fire week will have to be added to affected properties though once the fire is over. :P LostHavoc(talk) 02:19, 6 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes of course, but don't worry, I'm sure you'll have no bother! Plus, I think people will only move out temporarily until their homes get fixed. Also, I love the way you have previous employees for most things, but like I suggested, don't have them for Cincerity as when those ex-employees worked there, it was not caled Cincerity and it was a former business, which usually goes futher down the page! :)

Hey! Surprise!

Amy Barnes

edit

There was something how she left... no mention on Hollyoaks official website, all quick... she's in the titles... Steph and Mal were removed after their final appearances, they do seem to update the titles regularly too now.RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 00:12, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I noticed she was in the titles and I did wonder why the website haven't had a 'Amy's best bits' thing like other characters. Hmm, probably better revert my edits. I never know whether to trust Hollyoaks these days with scenes being cut etc. :) LostHavoc(talk) 00:16, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah perhaps for now, maybe they are playing games... I know though, when all four... Elliot, Dom, Mal and Amy were reported, HO website only reported the stories of the guys leaving... Davies hasn't done any promo for her exit what so ever, I just thought that was incase she died in the fire and they wanted her to keep quiet... but no it's like is she even going? lolRAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 00:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, only Glen, Garnon and John spoke about their decisions to leave in the Digital Spy report, Ashley hasn't commented (at least I don't think she has). I don't think she has a Twitter either, so we can't tell by her tweets, even though Twitter can't always be reliable, it can give us hints. Waveguide doesn't mention Amy either, but then again the spoilers on all websites have been wrong for a few weeks now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :) LostHavoc(talk) 18:23, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Just read about India, that's quite a scary way to kill her off. Quite shocked at it. Suppose it makes her a notable character finally...RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 01:12, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I know, same! :O I'm shocked too, it'll be interesting to watch, I don't think any soaps have done a death like this before. Good on Paul Marquess for finding something original to do :) LostHavoc(talk) 01:18, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh also, brilliant work on Steph's article! :D LostHavoc(talk) 01:19, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thankyou, I nominated it for GA... I just want more HO articles to GA atm. .. are you going to Nominate Brendan and Ste? (I've noticed you have done lots of work on them now, very good too.)
I've nominated Ste, not sure about Brendan right now, do you think it could pass? LostHavoc(talk) 16:41, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Suppose Ste alone is okay for now, as I'm sure lots more Brendan stuff is upcoming we can add in the future.. About Clare and co, they were just flackbacks from before. So is it best to re-do their last appearance..?RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 20:13, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I've thought about this, it would be best to keep the mention of their final appearance in the opening but since they were flashbacks, revert the final appearance in infobox. I'll go and change the Infoboxes back. :) LostHavoc(talk) 20:21, 30 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:HollieJayBowes1096.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:HollieJayBowes1096.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:35, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:The Dog in the Pond.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Dog in the Pond.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:06, 8 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

[1] This ref here reveals that Cameron, is played by Cameron Moore. It has Jeff Rawle down as playing Silas Blissett who is Heidi's dad who comes to stay with them at xmas... So he's posing as this Cameron, but he's still the killer, should we change the names on the pages?RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 03:57, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I guess that will be the surprise Jeff Rawle mentioned then. :P Yeah I think we should change the names, better to do it now before he arrives tbh. I wonder what role Cameron will have then, since he's been cast. LostHavoc(talk) 13:02, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've changed the section on List of Hollyoaks characters (2010). I haven't added Trish or Mitzeee to his family yet because they might not be related, if Heidi's mother is Trish's sister. LostHavoc(talk) 13:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Could you keep an eye out to see who plays this Ciara girl in tomorrow's C4 hollyoaks please?RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 22:03, 15 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, sure. I noticed her in the credits earlier on E4, but I didn't catch the actress's name. Tbh, I actually thought it was Liberty haha. :') LostHavoc(talk) 23:06, 15 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm tired of certain editors changing as they please, ignoring our warnings. I'm going to report them, I think Pringlepan is one of the biggest problematic Hollyoaks editors, theres an IP that adds middle names for the McQueen's, it's so in universe it doesn't matter. We go by what the character is known as don't we? I wish there was a column for middle names in the info box..RAIN..the..ONE HOTLINE 13:21, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Same, I've just given PringlePan a final warning. As for the middle names, perhaps we could bring it up on the Infobox talk page? Just to see what other editors think. LostHavoc(talk) 13:29, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

LostHavoc, I've started reviewing this article after it's languished at GAC forever. I wanted to check in with you, though, and see if it was all right if I did a copyedit, which is something I tend to do when I review an article. I also tend to be quite WP:BOLD, so let me know if that's okay, too. I'm a soap fan, too, but of American ones, which I know doesn't even hold a candle to your Brit ones. And I think your nerdy-ness--that you'd spend so much time on WP--is so cool. Cheers! ;) Christine (talk) 21:50, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Raven

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Daniel Raven requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! Speedy deletion nomination of File:Maxsdeath.JPG

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Maxsdeath.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Proposed deletion of Ashworth family

edit

The article Ashworth family has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. The reception is focused on Hannah Ashworth, which already has an article. It is useless to this particular topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
