Subdivisions of Kaunas moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Subdivisions of Kaunas, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:22, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dena (mint) edit

I don't understand your reversion of my correction to Dena (mint)?

  1. the source given for Dena explicity says that it was a coin of the Tuscan lira, not the Italian lira or the Turkish lira for that matter.
  2. I also transferred (to Tuscan lira) the line you added about the Dena from the lead of Lira per WP:LEAD (lead is to summarise major concepts in the body: this is not even mentioned in the body and it is certainly not in a major point). Furthermore it applied to only one of the many currencies called Lira. Would you reconsider, please?

BTW, I also don't understand why you used "mint" as the disambiguation, as in numismatics it usually refers to a Mint (facility). Surely you should have used "coin". 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 19:30, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@John Maynard Friedman: I undid my revert already. I will move to Dena (coin). Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 23:30, 13 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

In the future, please do not add navboxes to redirect pages. I've removed them from several redirects of yours already.

Hey man im josh (talk) 16:07, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I see you have removed your original reply to me @Lokys dar Vienas. What makes you think that templates belong on redirect pages? Redirect pages are meant to be empty aside from their target, redirect categories, and regular categories. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:51, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Templates marked with "R with possibilities" and "R from surname" mean that there is a potential for a real article. Any extra content in a redirect page is harmless for wikipedia users, but helpful for creation of future articles. Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 16:55, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
We don't include potential drafts of an article commented out on redirects and we don't include templates either. The only content that belongs on redirect pages is the redirect target string, redirect categories, and regular categories. The "R from surname" and "R from possibilities" suit the need just fine in this case and I'm sorry but the template doesn't enhance the page. Just because something can be added doesn't mean it should be added. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:00, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I disagree with your opinion. If something useful can be added, then it can be added. I am not inclined to continue this discussion of opinions. Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:05, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion edit

Hello, Lokys dar Vienas,

I was just taking care of some pages you tagged for speedy deletion and wanted to let you know that CSD U1 is used for pages you created in your User space that you want deleted. If the page has been created in any other namespace on the project, please use CSD G7. Using U1 in Draft space, for example, causes an error message to show up that might delay deletion when an administrator looks into it.

In general, I recommend that editors who expect to tag pages for deletion, or tag articles for existing issues or report vandals to a noticeboard or post warnings to editors, etc., become familiar with Twinkle, an editing tool that makes all of these processes much easier for an editor because it means you don't need to go search for the right template to use. It has a lot of great features and I encourage you to try it out. It will create a menu tab at the top of the page, labeled TW, where you can see what it can do for you. Happy editing! Liz Read! Talk! 17:49, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, my mistake. I did intend "db-author", not "db-user". Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:54, 19 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Juozas Kudirka edit

The article Juozas Kudirka has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simply not enough coverage to meet WP:GNG, and does not meet WP:NSCHOLAR.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rafael E. López-Corvo page edit

Hello Lokys dar Vienas,

If you please, I would like to know why you undid my edits. Especially why you erased the Video section.

As for the notability of the topic this was debated many years ago, and editors agreed on its notability. Lopez-Corvo has 522 quotations in Google Scholar he has a page in DBpedia and World Cat Identities says he has 24 works in 121 publications in 4 languages and 6,560 library holdings. He has 2 pages of book offerings on Amazon.

I'm not saying he's Jennifer Lopez, but in his domain and his specialty his notability is evident.

I'm looking forward to your answer and hope that we can find at least some common ground on this matter.

Cheers,

Lithuanian military history task force edit

Hello, I noticed that you have recently made edits in articles concerning Lithuanian military units. I was thinking about creating a Lithuanian military history task force within the Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history. Would you be interested in joining? If enough people are supportive of this idea, then I would create it.--Cukrakalnis (talk) 13:30, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Cukrakalnis: Thatnk you for the invitation, but I am a rather random and chaotic editor with limited time and skills. I just notice a missing subject in Wikipedia and "fill the blank". (I looked at my list contributions and see that I became a bit too obsessed with {{surname}} articles. Probably because it is a "low-hanging fruit:-) and "a rabbit hole of Wikipedia". I guess I should tone down on these, because most of them are of low informative value (although may be good for navigation)) Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:42, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
P.S. about my edits of LitMilHist articles: I simply saw them in the "New Lithuanian articles" list and fixed a bit. Lokys dar Vienas (talk) 17:48, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's absolutely fine that you edit how you do - it's an absolutely natural way of doing things :) You shouldn't feel bad at all to be busy with 'low-hanging fruit', because most of the time, people are too lazy to pick even them :D You can join the task force even if you edit LitMilHist articles 'tangentially', so to speak.
