Regarding AI VTZ - DXB flight

Dear Abhishek,

Please cross check with air India official website regarding VTZ- DXB flight. Air India has already started its booking from 25th march. I could not able to understand why you are objecting my posting ??? If even Air India website itself is supporting my editing. Please findout and reply. eEven my brother is leaving to dubai from visakhapatnam on 27th march. he has already booked ticket. --Ajay Godwin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajaygodwinpotnuri (talkcontribs) 18:21, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Well, im pretty much sure about the Dubai flight from Vizag. Well of course there is. After all the hush, Air India finally announced an international flight from Vizag and it has been on the first page of the newspaper(local) for over a week or so. It is a big news for Visakhapatnam city and the Air India Website makes it more than clear. You just cant remove well sourced content(since there is a paragraph on it; with references) without any consensus. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 11:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Well first of all, DXB was only added as a destination and not a future one which would naturally cause us to believe you adding false info and there were no sources added at all for any such edits. Had DXB been added as a future destination, either me or other members of WP:AVIATION would have verified the same for that date. Kindly have a look at WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT.  Abhishek  Talk 13:50, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello Abhishek, I am New To Wikipedia. I had Added Some Pics To Jet Airways Page,Kaziranga Forest Page, etc. But all the Changes are reverted. Can you tell me Why they have been reverted? Shrikargg (talk) 05:51, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

That is what i was requesting the editors, as to discusses it first on talk page. regards :) --Omer123hussain (talk) 07:52, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

It was already discussed and decided to remove them, but you still seem to be revert warring.  Abhishek  Talk 07:53, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

Removing scripts

Hi Abhishek, I noticed your edit summary on Bay of Bengal: "rm scripts from lead per WT:IN". Whilst I don't disagree with your edit, I can't find anything on WT:IN that refers to this. Can you point me in the right direction please? Also, if a decision like this has been made, then surely it should be moved to the Manual of Style, rather than buried in a talk page somewhere. Bazonka (talk) 08:20, 19 February 2012 (UTC)

The consensus has been archived. You can find it here.  Abhishek  Talk 08:56, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks. You may want to see my comment here. Also, the lead of Arabian Sea could do with a script cull. I'm unsure which parts to remove and which to leave - I'm reluctant to get rid of the whole lot. Bazonka (talk) 22:59, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

That did appear to me as vandalism. There has been no news whatsoever that Singapore Airlines will launch flights this April only. Also, the edit literally ruined the table so i reverted the edits to fix it. How isn't an edit like that not vandalism? --Anirudh Emani (talk) 13:20, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

No it isn't. Read WP:NOTVAND thoroughly.  Abhishek  Talk 13:22, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

Hey! The Jeeja Ghosh incident does appear to be notable enough to be put up on the page. Also the rest of the info that i have put up in the criticism Section. If not under the incidents section, it can me moved to the history section. But it needs to stay as the news has also spread fast on Facebook. To be frank, it looks like the war is between you and the rest there. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 14:27, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

Also, the subho(something) is NOT MY ACCOUNT!!! And im ready to shout that out loud!! You can have our IPs tracked if possible. Any such fake claims are not welcomed. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 14:32, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Go through th link I have quoted in my ES, they aren't notable.  Abhishek  Talk 14:57, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
I strongly disagree with the Jeeja Ghosh thing being a light issue. query for that on Google news and you will find a shitload of articles. --Anirudh Emani (talk) 13:24, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Just coz you disagree, you cannot go against consensus. If you think the policy needs to be changed, then discuss on WT:AIRLINE.  Abhishek  Talk 13:28, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Okay! Done there... I have also mentioned the two socks that are trying to put the info back on. BTW, how can you reach a consensus on you own? Its just the two of us here and we are in a conflict. We can't reach no consensus like this. So i started a discussion at WT:AIRLINE. The Jeeja Ghosh incident IS quite significant. I wonder why you still dont agree. It spun the entire differently-abled community into discussions. Now the DGCA too is involved.--Anirudh Emani (talk) 14:42, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
I'm not talking about what the two of us are involved in. I said that the decision on what events are notable for an airline has been done through consensus years ago, much before even I started editing.:P And BTW, sorting out a dispute is not consensus :P  Abhishek  Talk 14:48, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Arabian Sea other names

The name of the body of water separating the Oman sea from the Indian ocean , historically and geographically had many different names as :

  • Akhzar Sea-(GreenSea) -persian sea-Makran-Mokran- Mecran Sea-[1] Sea of Daria- Sindh usagaraha(meaning "Sea of Sindh" in Sanskrit)[1] and Erythraean Sea ,Sindh Sea ,The Erythraean Sea ,Chah Bahar,Mare indicum, Mare Rubrum, Mare indicum, vagh vagh - Sea of Moheet-E Ajam and ... so name of the Arab sea, has been disputed by some historian in Iran - India and Pakistan. they blive that the arabian sea was first brought to the maps by colonialism in past 400 years.

Persian sea

from the book documents on persian gulf

arabian sea or Mokran sea is a part of Indian ocean and Persian Gulf . [2] there is a dispute among some of the writers in Iran and Pakistan and India in reference to the term "Arabian Sea" Pakistani some times refer to it as Mecran or Makran sea and Iranian also call it sometimes Makran sea /"Persian sea" or pars Sea.there have been a request from persian TV to call arabian sea as persian sea in revenge to the change of the persian gulf names by some Arab nationalist to Arabian gulf. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maahmaah (talkcontribs) 10:10, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

How come a airport without any international service got a custom status??? it does not mean that the ip address starts with 117 was mine. There are millions of users with the same ip address due to the same service provider.get to know something about ip, dns etc Naanmahan (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

I know enough about IPs and DNS. The conclusion was based on what we call Duck Evidence.    Abhishek  Talk 07:26, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

so can i claim that all the contribution of ip 117 in the complete wikipedia is mine??? Lol.Naanmahan (talk) 07:32, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Go through WP:DUCK first and then talk instead of blabbering nonsense.  I know that IPs are dynamic and keep changing for every user and that all IPs starting with 117 are not yours. And yes of course, wikipedia does have tools to determine which IPs an editor has used over the years for the sake of its own integrity.  Abhishek  Talk 07:35, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

yeah then how come you had given me some link which was edited by someone with the the ip 117 and thinking that it was mine ??? lets stop our conversation here !! wikipedia having a great contributor who can identify the user through IP in the perfect manner   Naanmahan (talk) 07:44, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Scripts to article.

Hi. I recently got a message from you to highlight to warn me considering that I am in edit war on addting scripts to articles. But I am also a user just like you to do some good work here; and no edit wars as you thought. But I am seriously puzzled what made or how come (all) more experienced users came to a conclision to remove scripts especially from article like country or state or a territory. I understand the point on some cases complexity is there in adding scripts for individual articles (personalities) for diff reasons like they might be born in one place, grow-up at diff place and finally living in a diff place. This is a perfect example for arguing whether to add one or all or none of the scripts. But applying the same concept to state, city is definetely doing a injustice. When all the cities or state have their own official declaration of languages and even when they exist to govern and function on this basis doing administartive, judicial, work in office; then how can the scripts be removed or taken away. Users like you must understand one thing that a native script is there in the articles to only represent a view for all non-english names how it appears and convey its usage on this very (and only) broad sense. Tell me one way to represent language/symbol of how it is used locally other than adding its respective native script. There is no way. One thing for sure that who ever might have brought this issue must have done only on one purpose and that is something to deal with individual article's citing the same example I gave you before here referring to some actor or actress. But this does not apply for things that constitute people like states or towns. It will be good of all if they really fully understand this and make a line of bar where to accept to add article's native scripts and where-not to add scripts. Its high time people like you must be invloved on this to allow to make the change to include scripts only on the purpose of representation, a depiction like a image. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 03:30, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

You lack knowledge on our policy on edit warring. Not discussing and reverting without any reason is nothing but an edit war. Regarding your rationale on including scripts, why would an English language reader want to know how the name of the subject looks like in the local language? And besides, the consensus on removal of the scripts was by long term experienced editors who knew what they were doing. And a consensus is an agreement to abide by while editing. If you feel it needs to be modified, then take it to the projects page and not here.  Abhishek  Talk 15:43, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
I admit your point that a long term experienced users came to a consensus and so we have to abibe by it. I felt there could have been a better decision to have a line of bar where to allow and disallow scripts. The rest I agree on the discussion and hope atleast from now they do not pin-point on some selective articles that have scripts under it and immediately commission to remove them. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 04:41, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the block notice, of-course this is not done on merit. It seems the purpose of India article is to mis-inform: AIT (m), caste, child marriage only cliches, (only a small sample) such a shame. Yogesh Khandke (talk) 13:15, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Bellary colonial buildings

I don't really get your logic.. Where is the promotion here? The article is just listing the british colonial buildings in the town, as a matter of fact. Following your logic, the whole article can be removed, as it describes various features of the town, which can be construed as 'promotion'. First of you remove a part of the list, and then do a bad copy edit (left behind a piece about Gandhi's visit to the railway station). I really don't get you. Shree (talk) 16:28, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Need help on the A2Z Group Article

Hello, I am trying to create an article for an Indian Organization, A2Z Group that is invested into Energy generation from renewable sources of energy like waste, biomass, etc. It's efforts have therefore helped our country a lot. Unfortunately since I am new to Wikipedia and since A2Z Group is an Indian company the wikipedia editors haven't been able to verify the 'notability' of the company.

Could you please help me with improving the Article and with convincing other editors/administrators about the notability of the Company? Thanks!

A2Z Group as the name suggests is a group of business units and therefore you will find a lot of references for each of its business units namely:-

Regarding Air India's fleet size

Hello Abhishek191288....The change in the fleet size for Air India was done on the basis of information provided on Air India's official site and can be verified by accessing the link "http://www.airindia.in/SBCMS/Webpages/Fleet-Details1.aspx?MID=196". I believe that Air India's page should include fleet details for its subsidiaries as well to indicate a complete picture about its fleet size to all users. Rajnishsikka (talk) 14:07, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Air India is an airline not the holding company. So as an operational airline with AI code, if only its fleet are mentioned, it is appropriate. Moreover each subsidiary has its own article.  Abhishek  Talk 14:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I don't care if you are right or wrong, go through WP:EW andone of the messages on your talk about edit warring, it says clearly: do not edit war even if you are right. Use the talk page and work out the differences and if that fails try dispute resolution. Nothing can be an excuse for edit warring.  Abhishek  Talk 15:45, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
You should care about the right contents. this article does not capture the what this education movement is about. No need to comment on this page unless you understand right or wrong contents. 17:02, 24 March 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by B.vikram.b (talkcontribs)
To care about what is right and what is wrong, we have something called a talk page where editors have to be civilised and discuss and gain consensus on what needs to be added and how. As I said above, no excuse can be given for edit warring (which you are doing), which includes what you are claiming as well.  Abhishek  Talk 17:06, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Edit war??

Mr. Abhishek... I see you deleted that photo..

Well, I don't want to start an edit war or anything.. but that pic is significant, it shows almost all the important landmarks of the Export Promotion Industrial Park in Whitefield.. I took that picture myself and thought it would be a nice detail.. I have lived all of my life in Whitefield and I can vouch that the picture in question is of Whitefield...

Tell me the exact reason why you removed it?? Doc.aneesh (talk) 06:18, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

One, we are not here to promote ourselves or our stuff. Two, we are not a travel guide to show important landmarks of each and every place. I can have something very similar to that pic in some other area. So in that case, what is the distinguishing factor? If only there is something very unique in the area, then its inclusion will not be a confusion. And besides, per WP:BRD, you should not have re-instated the pic.  Abhishek  Talk 06:28, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Didn't know

I didn't know it was removed.. I thought it hadn't saved.. Fine, remove it then.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doc.aneesh (talkcontribs) 07:37, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

You didn't know it was removed? Very strange???  Abhishek  Talk 08:14, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Dude, I really didn't know someone had removed until I got an email about edit wars!! I'm not a frequent editor.. I just wanted to add detail.. that's all... Besides, I honestly thought it hadn't saved so I reposted the picture... You can do whatever you want, you are a senior wikipedian... Its best I stop updating any Wiki page anymore,,, thanks Doc.aneesh (talk) 08:40, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Dude. I'm not stopping you from editing and neither do I have the rights to do so. At no point in time did I ever tell you that your edits are vandalism. I was only shocked by the irony of your statement. In the first message you clearly ask me why I removed the pic which indicates that you knew it was removed and in the second you said, you didn't know that it was being removed. Anyways forget it. You are doing a good job, but the point here is, that this image has little or no significance as I stated above. If you have some other pictures like that of Palm meadows or Forum Value mall, etc, they will be valuable and I would encourage you in adding these. I did not mean any offense and I am sorry if I caused any trouble.  Abhishek  Talk 08:45, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

So I can post images of individual landmarks but not a one showing more than one??

I said I didn't know you had removed the image yesterday! I thought it hadn't saved so I put it again.. Now I see i got an email that I'm warring... I wasn't thats all.. If i had known, I wouldnt do that..

Anyway, that image has several landmarks of Whitefield, that's the only reason I posted it...

Also, why is there a citation request for this page?? Most of it has references.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doc.aneesh (talkcontribs) 08:55, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Not that way. This image does not really prove that it is in Whitefield. As I said, something similar can be captured from the same distance in another locality and can look the same. A close up is better, that is what I meant. The citation request was made way back in March 2007. If you feel there are enough citation in the article, then be bold and remove the citation tag from the page    Abhishek  Talk 09:00, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

That photo is of Whitefield and was taken in Whitefield... do you want proof?? I can give it to you..

And I'm a novice, How do I remove the tag? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Doc.aneesh (talkcontribs) 09:11, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

I think we can keep that topic aside for now as your image is still in the article. Besides, to remove the tag, just edit the article and remove it.    Abhishek  Talk 09:16, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Does this seem all right?
Bangalore has been ruled by many South Indian dynasties in the medieval ages after 1000 AD. It became a major city after the establishment of the Vijayanagara empire under Kemegowda. Later, Islamic and Maratha kingdoms occupied the region in and around the city, passing it to Hyder Ali in 1759 and his son, Tipu Sultan. The British colonists dominated the city thereafter, before merging it with the Mysore kingdom and soon the Indian state of Karnataka. After Independence, the city grew rapidly and remains as an important economic hub in South India. Secret of success (talk) 07:44, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
I do not see anything wrong in it. It seems pretty fine. But I'd suggest you to post the same on WT:IN to get a broader perspective.    Abhishek  Talk 15:55, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi, you reverted my edit [[3]] on mysore page saying that it was not discussed, I see that there are many edits being made to the mysore article as it is undergoing a FAR and nothing is being discussed on talk page, can you please let me know the reason behind you reverting my edit only, in any case I am adding a new section in talk page. Thanks --sarvajna (talk) 14:44, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

There hasn't been any agreement among editors to include your additions. Per WP:BRD, you should be discussing and not reverting back to your addition.  Abhishek  Talk 03:36, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi Abhishek, apologies for reverting back my edit, I don't see any reason why Sagar Kashyap should not find a mention in Mysore page, can you please leave your comment on the Talk:Mysore, you can remove my edit if you find it unworthy. Thanks. -sarvajna (talk) 04:16, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Karnataka

Hi,

Re. the edit, that's one reason I've been asking for a guideline at the India project page, but we haven't gotten anywhere. Either we include the Kannada name or we don't, but we certainly do not present the Kannada as English! You say I'm useless as an admin for insisting on that, but insist I will: it is completely inappropriate. Now, if you want to keep the Kannada, fine by me, but how we should do it is the decision I can't get clarified at the project page. — kwami (talk) 20:33, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

It's not that I want to keep it. Keeping the IPA is purely based on consensus per the discussion at WT:IN. And you being an admin does not give you the rights to go against community consensus and edit war over the issue.  Abhishek  Talk 03:38, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
There is no such consensus. Please show me where the RfC said we are supposed to falsify the names in our articles. — kwami (talk) 06:11, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Indic scripts in lead for movies

Heya, are we leaving Indic scripts for movies in the lead or removing them as well? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:03, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Nope. As per the rfc, we are only to retain IPA in all Indian related articles.    Abhishek  Talk 12:39, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

AI's IXM - BOM Outbound flight

Hi Abhi, It is just a temporary arrangement i.e., it is just for May. I starts again from June 1. So i am reverting. Feel free to add date if necessary. --Amdmustafa (talk) 01:45, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Whether temporary or not, it does not exist as of now, so a future date must be added in accordance with the project's policy.  Abhishek  Talk 08:34, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

ORR Bangalore

I've reverted your edit for now. There are no articles for other ring roads. I'll split them, or rename this article into a generic one this weekend. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 19:03, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

Forgot to mention that other Ring Road articles point to this one. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:22, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok. No Worries.    Abhishek  Talk 09:17, 28 April 2012 (UTC)
I specified ABOVE that I have undone your edit so I could split the article, but I guess you didn't read it. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:31, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
I never denied that. But tomorrow if someone looks at the article history it would be like you undid vandalism, coz that's what rollback is used for. And I never disagreed with your revert on BIAL. Since you happen to disagree, you should have either used twinkle rollback or just the undo button.  Abhishek  Talk 16:45, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
Twinkle doesn't work for me any longer. It works once in a blue moon. I'll manually undo it. Thanks for your advice. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 16:53, 9 May 2012 (UTC)

BIAL

Two IPs have removed the ref for Mauritius from the BIAL article. If this continues, I'll request for temporary semi protect. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 05:27, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

I did notice that. The ref seems to be broken now. And the plan of terminating BLR has been withdrawn by the airline.  Abhishek  Talk 08:32, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
Do we need a source for that? I doubt it. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 08:39, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
We do not have a source for it. But I have checked with the booking engine of the airline and flights exists way after 22 October.  Abhishek  Talk 08:41, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
To add. The Air Mauritius destinations article has no mention of BLR being terminated.  Abhishek  Talk 08:44, 29 April 2012 (UTC)
