DENY
By invoking DENY you are basically suggesting that the person you're saying should be denied recognition is a troll or a vandal. You're talking about an editor with almost 14,000 edits who's been here for more than five years. So please, before you call out a bluelinked acronym, think about what it says. One could consider rolling back or redacting your comment, since in my opinion it amounts to a personal attack (of sorts), but I don't want to draw so much attention to it. Again, though, please be careful: what you meant, I assume, was "pay no attention to it", not "don't listen to a troll". Thanks. Drmies (talk) 02:35, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Correct. I'll remove it. KonveyorBelt 02:39, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks--I appreciate that. It appears to be a pretty dirty editorial dispute with low blows from both sides, by the way. Not the kind of thing an admin typically wants to jump into, and keeping the temperature from rising is often the best thing we can do. Thanks again, Drmies (talk) 02:43, 14 January 2014 (UTC)

Tagging of Sick Boy (film)
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Sick Boy (film). I do not think that Sick Boy (film) fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because The name of the film give ample context. I request that you consider not re-tagging Sick Boy (film) for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. The article is very stubby, and the subject may not be notable, but there is clearly enough context to find out what sources there are about it. DES (talk) 21:13, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
- I tagged it because there was not even a lede, not even anything but an infobox. There were also different versions of the page, saying that one was a 70s film featuring Barbara Streisand, and then this new version, an obvious FRANKIE violation. KonveyorBelt 22:33, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

This edit removed a section that I added. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Clash_of_Clans&oldid=574244319
Maybe you can explain why the removal was required, how was the decision verified, how can this information be published? I am aware of the reason included with the edit.

Hi Konveyor Belt, re Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Comments made by Martin451, that whole bit had been pasted onto the ANI page from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blue Penguins by User:Simon161388 . It wasn't put there by Martin451. Voceditenore (talk) 16:19, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

I've blocked 1LastManStanding indefinitely for being a spam-only account. The edits they've made are clearly promotional in nature, and their entire edit history consisted of inserting the same promotional information at the article. I'm also initiating a semi-protection for 3 months, to prevent the IPs from putting both promotional and defamatory language into the article. I'm hoping with this action that the article can be properly developed. If Mgottesfeld returns (which is possible, if 209.6.193.140 is the same person as I suspect) then we may have to address that person's own form of advocacy (which is clearly a COI and anti-Logan River Academy as I'd pointed out at ANI). In any event, the article should calm down for a while at least. I'm not going to keep it on my watchlist forever, but if you notice misbehavior again on the page especially after the 3 month protection is lifted I will see if I can help, just drop me a message. -- Atama頭 19:27, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Sure, but those are separate blocks in themselves. The block is for hounding and personal attacks. Besides, talk page bans rarely involve hounding and personal attacks. The majority of them that I've had to deal with have been the result of a user not understanding policy and feeling stupid when someone tries to explain it to them. Of particular note in my memory was the case of User:Blackgaia02 who 'talk page banned' User:Ryulong because Ryulong was trying to explain sourcing and WP:V requirements. Read [1]. Ryulong made no personal attacks, but the editor perceived him as aggressive. This case is like the majority of talk page bans I come across. Editors respect them not to avoid getting blocked, but because it's a reasonable practice to avoid the drama and stress of getting these guys riled up. We don't usually see talk page bans that involved hounding and personal attacks, the legitimate cases of those become interaction bans or blocks which are enforceable because the community enacted them.--v/r - TP 20:48, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

In an interest not to blow this out of proportion, I'm asking here: You said "Impersonating the WMF to appear to have a legal authority is even worse". Is this based on some facts I've missed? I have seen more than one person act as if that happened, but I haven't yet seen any evidence, or even claims that such evidence exists.--S Philbrick(Talk) 17:27, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- @Sphilbrick: From the email: your refusal to abide by Wikimedia's Terms of Use. Per [2], what Kumioko is doing would fall under Sec. 4 Refraining from certain activities. At the end: "We reserve the right to exercise our enforcement discretion with respect to the above terms." "We" obviously refers to the Wikimedia Foundation. Not AGK. Thus, AGK cannot enforce the Terms of Use. KonveyorBelt 20:09, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
